As Zenzeroni closes his eyes the sound of the Honolulu ocean meets his ears. The soft crash of the waves against the beach, the consistent breeze brushing across his face. It is reminiscent of Bondi Beach and yet why is he thinking about Honolulu at this moment? He opens his eyes and feels the jets of his hot tub against his back as it unravels the deep knots from a long day of work. The snow is softly falling and Zenzeroni smiles, enjoying the juxtaposition between the bitter Yellowknife cold and the warm outdoor hot tub he is sitting in. Ever since he had moved out of the hustle and bustle city and out into the woods his demeanor has been…different. He of course has been calmer without the draw of social media and other outside voices constantly nagging him. But there is another trait that has emerged within him.....
His smile fades as he hears a sound deep within the woods. It happens again and this time Zenzeroni stands up from his relaxed sitting position completely alert and aware of his surroundings. The sound happens one more time and the culprit emerges from the woods. A deer stands tall staring at Zenzeroni more out of curiosity than out of fear. Zenzeroni sighs in relief and walks toward his cabin content with his hot tub session. Had he stayed and watched the deer a moment longer he would have seen the deer grabbed by an unseen force and torn apart. Instead, Zenzeroni hums to himself as he begins making a pizza with his special recipe none the wiser as to the events that unfolded moments earlier.
