*S51 ISFL draft board - kdr - 10-05-2024 S51 ISFL Mock Draft It is that time of year again when the DSFL rookie class is getting ready to find out who will be drafting them and where they will wind up possibly playing their football when called up, possibly. This year I am going to do a little something different and before having a mock draft we are going to analyze the draft class and kind of have our own big board of the strengths and weaknesses of the S51 draft class. So, first let’s look at the draft class as a whole. According to the TPE tracker there are 52 members of the S51 draft class. However, 10 users have never updated past the original 50 and another 5 have done minimal updating and are still in the 50s. This would mean there are only about 42 draftable and 37 possibly active players. After this point I will only be looking at players that are over 50 TPE When looking at the positional breakdown the draft class looks like this: QB: 3 (2 Field Generals, 1 Pocket Passer) RB: 6 (4 Power, 2 Receiving) WR: 7 ( 5 Speed, 2 Slot) TE: 4 (3 Blocking, 1 Possession) OL: 3 (2 Athletic, 1 Balanced) DE: 2 (both Power Rush) DT: 4 (2 Nose, 2 All-Purpose) LB: 7 (4 Versatile, 3 Pass Rusher) CB: 3 (2 Cover, 1 Physical) S: 1 (Ballhawk) K/P: 2 (1 Accurate, 1 Power) A pretty good mix of positions, but it is a little light in the defensive secondary. The biggest class position being tied between WR and LB with RB right behind. It is also split exactly even as there are 21 recreates and 21 new user players in the draft. So, while it is a smaller draft class, it should have some good prospects in it for the future. Next we will look at individual players and see where they might go in the draft, we will look at where they were drafted in the DSFL draft, current TPE (overall rank/position rank) how their rookie year is going and potential number of teams that might need them in the draft. They will then get a draft ranking of either top half 1 rd, mid 1st, last first, second or third round. GM Creates As we all know GM recreates will go to their team with the highest second round pick that team has. From my count there are 3 GM recreates that we will look at first since we know exactly where they will be going in the draft. Xander Le Roux CB user @zeagle1: TPE: 236 (4/1) Zeagle1 is the GM of the Arizona outlaws. He was picked in the second round of the S50 DSFL draft going to Dallas. Currently, he is the top earning CB in the draft class and is having an outstanding rookie campaign for the birddogs. Being in the top 5 in Tackles, Passes Defended, Interceptions and Forced fumbles. While Arizona doesn’t have a 1st round pick in this draft, they will be getting a top half caliber player in their GM recreate. Rating: Top half Rd 1 (but really 2nd round) Ghost Panda DT user @juniped: TPE: 235 (5/1) Juniper is the GM of the Yellowknife Wraiths. Another second round pick in the DSFL entry draft. And again he is at the top of the prospect lists for his DT category. He doesn’t have as wide of a gape as Zeagle does at CB, but definitely He is having a solid rookie season for Minnesota clogging up the middle on one of the stout run defenses in the league. DT is not normally as high in demand as CB, but YKW will still be getting first round quality with their 2nd round pick. Rating: Mid 1st round (but really 2nd round) Ben Yay RB user @toofpete: TPE: 162 (24/4) Toofpete is GM for New Orleans Second line, the two time defending champion. Maybe DSFL GMS think all GMs just have to be picked in the second round as another GM went in the second of the DSFL. He trails his other GM recreates in that he is not the top TPE earner at his position only coming in 3rd. He is having a solid if unremarkable season with 1 TD and over 500yds rushing for the bottom ranked rushing offense. Rating: second round Quarterback Quarterback is always an interesting position. One of the most important for building a team, but not always a position in demand. Once you have your QB you are normally good for a number of years and don’t need your understudy until your main quarterback is into regression a year or two. We have three in this year's class. Cyrus MacDougall user @g2019: TPE 236 (3/1) drafted 10OA DSFL draft. a recreate with a modest $60mil bank on what looks like his 4th player. A known commodity it seems, and one of the high earners of the class. Previous players look to normally be short run players as the last was a S45 draftee. Doesn’t seem to be a legacy player looking to go to a specific team from what I can tell. For a rookie QB has good numbers with a 2:1 TD:INT ratio and a 90 QBR. If wasn’t a QB or is changing out of QB would probably be higher first rounder, but as a QB Rating: 3rd round Peaquod Von Turbo user @Cycro: TPE: 187 (13/2) drafted 12 OA DSFL. interesting that the last two QBs of this draft class are actually splitting time on Tijuana. HIs main advantage is his TD:INT ratio which is 16:7, which leads to a much higher QBR in the 90s. Cycro is a recreate and his first player is in his Zombie year on CTC. Now, CTC is one of the teams that might be ready to line up a new QB, so maybe that explains this build. Rating: 3rd round Jack Crackerjack user @JKortesi81: TPE 173 (20/3) drafted 36 OA DSFL. A longtime ISFL user starting back in S05 on his 4th player and is the Head of the Media department. This create makes little sense unless you look further and see that one of his past creates was a QB for Austin and his previous create is playing out his zombie season for Austin after many fine years there. And Austin’s current QB is a S43 and will about to be heavy regression and need replacing in 2 to 3 years. So, either this is an Austin pick or he wanted to play QB in the DSFL and will switch when drafted. Rating: 2nd round (if he will change positions might go much higher) Running Backs RBs are always an interesting position in that some teams have a full RB room and pould the ball over and over again like Baltimore and Arizona and other teams have a sigle featured back or reply more on the passing game, but they still feature RB in the passing game. There are a few teams with RB needs and it is not a totally saturated field as of yet. Quincy Robinson user @18situaseans: TPE 183 (17/1) drafted 20OA DSFL. Robinson is a second player for a recreate. The bank account would be concerning for a player that is a recreate as it is under $1mil. However Quincy has been tearing it up in his rookie season. He is the second leading rusher overall in the league and also is figuring pretty well in the passing game as well. Eventhough he is not on the higher side of TPE and his bank account is a worry, he has something in his build that is allowing him to exceed expectations. Rating: late 1st/2nd round Lasso Jones user @Kilowat: TPE 170 (21/2) drafted 5 OA DSFL. Our first new player create of this draft class. A little on the lower side of TPE for high earnings, but new blood is always desirable, and he is the only new player of the RBs out of the 50 TPE range and he is 2nd out of all RBs. He started off a little slow, but now that his build is starting to take shape his stats are coming up to where you might want your RB to be. Rating: 2nd round (might bumo into the 1st with desire for new blood if continues to be more active in coming weeks) Ignacio de la Serna user @crash1005: TPE 167 (22/3) drafted 16OA DSFL a recreate with a very healthy bank built up. Active and has been a good RB partner in Portland. Doesn’t have amazing numbers, but when it is his turn to carry the ball his build always rips off the yards. Might be waiting for the draft to build up the TPE. Rating: Second round Jerome Bettis Jr. user @koty_k: TPE 77 (36/5) drafted 29 OA DSFL the first of the under 100 TPE players. A recreate, but it seems his first player was never active that I can see from the tracker. Would be just over 100 if applied all earned TPE. right now seems like he might be another IA and early retired. Rating: 3rd round Clint Backmatter user @Bigolac: TPE 57 (41/6) a new user that seemingly went IA right after creating and first rookie task updates. Not much to say except filler Rating: 3rd round Wide Receivers With more teams going to a high octane west coast style pass the ball around offense depth in WR becomes more of a premium. According to the position tracker it is almost at saturation point. Jeff Land Shark user @LiathTheSquirrel: TPE 221(8/1) drafted #17 OA DSFL a recreate working on their 5th player. However, previous creates are not normally of the high earner variety, Bank account is also low for such an old number of creates. This might prove worrisome to some GMs. Playing a solid role in the DSFL and will probably come close to topping the 1000 yard receiving mark. Rating: 2nd round Matt Turk user @Matt Turk: TPE 177 (19/2) drafted #3 OA DSFL another new player with new blood. Was active on discord, but has gone a little quiet over the last week, but is staying with the updates on the forum. Is currently the top rookie WR stat-wise in the DSFL. Combination of being active and new blood should probably raise his draft stock. Wouldn’t be surprised if first WR off the board. Rating: late 1st round Jamal Slick Jr. user @JBLAZE_THE_BOSS: TPE 146 (26/3) waiver claim DSFL another recreate working on his 5th player and again has a very small bank considering the longevity of the user. Started a little late, so would expect to be slightly behind in TPE. solid numbers to begin the DSFL career. Rating: 2nd round Karl Idlewyld user @"Kyle 'TPE 124 (30/4) drafted 23 OA DSFL a recreate in the 4th player generation. Is the second rated WR in the rookie class for yardage, but has a hard time getting into the endzone. I don’t find any activity in the discord realm. All this adds up to Rating: late 2nd round. DeAndre Reeler user @JoeHoe3121: TPE 100 (33/5) drafted #28 OA DSFL the main thing Reeler has going for him is he is a new create. So, in this relatively shallow draft class those that think they might be able to coax him back into activity might take a flyer on him to get some new blood in the LR. Was very active in the DSFL discord early, but don;t see much recently. So, possibly a flyer here. Rating: 2nd round Beam Xavier user @originallaserbeam: TPE 57 (38/6) drafted #37 OA DSFL filler IA Rating: 3rd round Boone Summers user @Wumbus: TPE 54 (42/7) waiver create new player flller IA Rating: 3rd Tight End Tight Ends got nerfed for S50, so who knows how they will play in the future. More of either another OL or WR. According to the position tracker there is a current oversaturation of TEs. Rocket Toss user @Aleris: TPE 186 (14/1) drafted #18 OA DSFL this is the third player create for Aleris and both of her previous ones have played for the Yeti. This might be a pretty good indication of where Rocket Toss will be going, with long time TE Paris-Johnson about to retire. Rocket has been doing better in the passing game than as a blocker. Forecast: 1st round going to Yeti if not late 1st round Big Strong Red Panda user @Lemorse7: TPE 153 (25/2) drafted #25 OA DSFL recreate of a player that seems to be normally a mid level earner. TE seems to be a good position for this type of earner. Rating: 2nd round Bug Jones user @UpperNet: TPE 128 (27/3) drafted #26 OA DSFL another recreate that seems to be a mid-level filler. This is the 5th player for uppernet a couple of OL are the main of the player. Rating: 2nd round Nameless One user @Nameless1: TPE 57 (39/4) waiver pick up. An IA TE that is a new user. IF someone can get them to come back maybe something will happen. Rating: 3rd round Offensive Line The perennial position that all GMs want a live body in, but not many active player want to play due to the low profile of the position in the sim. Mike Ross user @Jacky: TPE 208 (11/1) drafted #22 OA DSFL second player for jacky and every GMs dream a pretty high earning OL. Ross has been impressive in the DSFL leading in pancakes and not allowing a sack. With such a shallow draft class Ross might be a high dreaftee. Rating: mid first round Clam Casino user @tellybear: TPE 107 (32/2) waivers a new user playing at OL. While he isn’t too active, he will probably be wanted. Was very active in the beginning and now has stalled in tasks. From discord “My bf made me do it” Rating: late 2nd round UntilTDL Only user @Pib well I think the name says it all, so eventhough at 93 TPE this is a DND. Defensive Line We move to the Defensive side of the ball and expect to be many more new creates here as we have only seen 3 or 4 so far out of a supposed 21. We start with the Dline. Another low glamour position which might not get much stats in the sim, but an important position to set up LB and stop the offense. This will encompass both DE and DT Paulie Wag user @Pelochyta: TPE 226 (7/2) drafted 1OA DSFL Paulie is what every team is looking for an new create that is active and shows a drive for the game. Started off active in the discord and has stayed active. Was a little slow in learning the TPE game, but has definitely picked it up and is staying in the upper reaches of the class. Build is playing well for a DE. might be the rare player who pulls off the double in a !OA DSFL and ISFL Rating: top of 1st round Al Porpoise user @speculadora: TPE 221 (9/3) drafted #21 OA DSFL a big time recreate going on their 6th player started in S06 speculadora must be a known quantity to most in the game. A little low in the bank for such a long time player, but still respectable. Al is earning well for his class. Not stacking up the stats this season, in fact he had more tackles in 4 games last year than in 10 games this year. Rating: late 1st round Brick Wall user @IR15H0000000000: TPE 181 (18/4) drafted looks like never even though before the draft. We have another new active player in the DL. doing well in stats for the position and active on discord, and has a good tag line from Pink Floyd. Think he misses some of the easy claimable items. But active new blood. Rating: late 1st round Mikey Knuckelz user @MikeyKnuckelz: TPE 107 (31/5) drafted #8 OA DSFL another new create, started off active and with a bang but has really tailed of the last few weeks. Hasn’t been seen much on discord and stopped updating mid september. But is a team could get him to come back would be good new blood again. Rating: 2nd round Cornelius McManama user @oozeysludge: TPE 79 (35/6) drafted #27 OA DSFL has more than the 29 TPE that has not yet been applied. This would bring him over 100 TPE. another for the almost IA, but can make a comeback. Rating: late 2nd/early 3rd Linebacker LB are the spine of the Defense. They are the glamor position on that side of the ball.As with all of the D positions the tracker says they are under represented so will be in demand. Senior Seau user @ComebackZak: TPE 238 (1/1) drafted #15 OA DSFL Seau is the third player for zak and he seems to be a lifeline Silverback. NYS do need another LB on their books, does Seau stay there or does he look for greener pastures elsewhere. He has been doing well in his rookie year with 65 tackles, 8TFL and 6 sacks. He is the top earner currently in the class Rating: mid first when NYS picks Abstract Geometry user @Murtsii: TPE 237 (2/2) drafted #19 OA DSFL another recreate working on his third player. The last two at least ended as OL according to the tracker.second highest TPE earner of the class and it looks like linebacker will be the deepest position in this class. Off to a good start in the DSFL with 63 tackles 8 TFL and 10 sacks. I think some of the new players might inch ahead of him for new blood. Rating: mid 1st round Miguel Caballero Rojo user @Akoustique: TPE 235 (6/3) drafted #9 oA DSFL the last of the LB recreates. Caballero Rojo is the second player for akoustique. The user is part of the DSFL HO and head of the WFC. The LB class is just cracking out top quality players this year as Miguel is also doing well with 63 tackles, 7TFL and 5 sacks. Where they wind up will again depend on the desire to have new players or recreates and if he sticks with his first team. Rating: late 1st round Roy Rivers user @RoyRivers: TPE 219 (10/4) drafted 2OA DSFL first of the new players at this stacked position. Roy started as a S, but quickly moved to the middle of the park to start his DSFL career.A very active user on discord. And is currently the top rookie LB in tackle at 85 tackles (tied for 1st overall) along with 8 TFL and 7 sacks. I think definitely a contender for 1OA. Rating: top of 1st round Ethan Shadow Jr. user @anuragb: TPE 186 (15/6) drafted #6 OA DSFL. another new user with a slight drop off from the top of the class at this position. But still active enough to make an impact. Right in the thick of the LB rankings with 66 tackles, 11 TFL(tops among rookies) and 5 sacks. If scouting went well should be sought after player. Rating: mid first round. Chavo De La Crúz user @LeAlvaroBoi : TPE 74 (37/7) drafted #31 OA DSFL. a new user that has seemingly gone IA, no updates since mid-august. Rating: late 2nd Edwardo Hitstick user @DopiestMonkey: TPE 57 (40/8) waivers another new create that is seemingly IA. Rating: 3rd round Corner Backs Needing the speed and agility to cover all the speedy wideouts especially against the west coast style offenses being played. Right now there is a good number of the position in the league according to the position tracker. Kai Ware user @Hepha: TPE 190 (12/2) drafted #4 OA DSFL another seemingly highly motivated new user. An active user on discord and keeping up well with the class as far as TPE is going. His player build is working well as he is top of the R class with PD at 24 and 6 INTs and has a robust 70 tackles for a CB. Rating: top of 1st round John Scamps user @scamps: TPE 127 (29/3) drafted #7 OA DSFL another new user whose TPE seems low, but he does have 33 unapplied, so that would bring him up to the 150 zone and the upper half of the class.Seems to have started as a DE from the DSFL discord, not super active put posting recently. Is playing well with 19 PDs. Rating: Late 1st round Safety The players looking to both crash the line to shut down the run game and rome far and wide to make a pick 6.This is definitely an under represented position according to the position tracker. Gavin Girard user @Froste39: TPE 165 (23/1) waivers a new user with a late start on the competition. Is also the only S create for a position that could use more players. This might bump up his draft stock. Stats are ok, but not out of this world. Most will hinge on his scouting interviews I am sure. Rating: late 1st round Kicker/Punter The forgotten position, probably intentionally. But a really good K/P can save a team with long FGs and good field position. The position is almost fully saturated according to the position tracker. John Kick user @pboomg: TPE 185 (16/1) waivers a new user with a late start. Looks to be very active on discord. Pretty good on his percentages. New blood Rating: 2nd round Justin Fern user @dead_potato_: TPE 127 (28/2) waivers another new user with a late start in the K/P position. Decently active on discord. I would say the same as above. New User, New Blood. Rating: 2nd round. And that wraps up our look at the active players, over 54 TPE for this year’s ISFL entry draft. Once the draft order becomes clear we will have our 2nd annual mock draft. Of course you can see my way way way too early mock that I did here, that probably is missing half of the class. RE: S51 ISFL draft board - JoeHoe3121 - 10-05-2024 Nah I'm going round 1 pick 1 RE: S51 ISFL draft board - RoyRivers - 10-06-2024 Finally some quality pasta! And not just because it puts me where I belong: as a contender for 1oa pick! *wink, wink* *nudge, nudge* Kidding aside, Im still navigating the whole web of connections and inner workings of the ISFL draft, so this post makes it much more understandable on the relationships and the thought behind the process/picks on a ISFL draft. I read it all and there's great bits and pieces that are very cool. I know Im only a 2oa pick in DSFL because in the DSFL its kinda frowned upon to pick a recreate there, but I soon realized that doesnt matter in the ISFL draft. So I assumed I'll just be an afterthought once all the friends pick their friends and future GMs. Now I still think that's the most likely scenario, even understand better why, but I realize the complexity of the whole thing. Thanks! RE: S51 ISFL draft board - Megsychan - 10-06-2024 Quote:Tight Ends got nerfed for S50, so who knows how they will play in the future. More of either another OL or WR. According to the position tracker there is a current oversaturation of TEs. Can I ask for a clarification on this? According to the the thread highlighting the changes made, all three archtypes got universal buffs, getting one trait added for free as part of the baseline, and blocking min and max stats increased across the board. I don't think there's any part of Tight Ends that had values lowered. How is making TEs block better and getting traits for free a nerf? RE: S51 ISFL draft board - Froste39 - 10-07-2024 I'm the only safety? Oh wow. Well, I try my best to earn and shorten the gap between me and the Draftees. |
