*Waiver Watch Season 3 (3/3) - White Cornerback - 10-21-2017

[div align=\\\"center\\\"]The third season of the NSFL has come to and end, the outlaws are champions again after completing their threepeat. The DSFL draws the curtain on its inaugural season and just as we have for the previous 2 seasons, we're going to have a look at the performance of all the waiver players in the DSFL. This year had a total of 31 prospects hit the waivers and be claimed, the most of any season since the setup of the National Simulation Football League a mere 3 years ago.

Haruki Ishigawa - Linebacker (Chicago Blues) S4 PROSPECT
Ishigawa had an impressive first season in the DSFL despite only appearing in 8 games. 46 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 1 fumble recovery, 1 sack , 1 pass deflection and 1 interception. Ishigawa was the first waiver pickup by the conference runner ups this year who finished with a 10-4 regular season record. Ishigawa is a a lock for a top 5 pick in the upcoming shallow S4 draft.

Fresh Booter - Wide Receiver (Chicago Blues) S5 PROSPECT
Booter managed to appear in the final two games of the season having been a late pickup by the Chicago Blues. Booter caught a total of 9 receptions for 65 yards and 0 touchdowns. Booter is thought to be a relation of the recently retired Wraiths kicker Archibald Booter. Many have highlighted Booter as a first round talent in the S5 draft, but there's alot of time between now and then for his draft stock to change.

Mac Donald - Defensive End (Kansas City Coyotes) S2 VETERAN
Mac Donald starred in all 14 games this season and racked up 28 tackles, 6 tackles for loss, 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery and 3 sacks. A solid finish to a decent season for the stout Coyotes defensive end. Mac Donald looks to be a continuous starter in the DSFL for years to come.

Sal Ifedemi - Defensive End (Kansas City Coyotes) S3 VETERAN
Ifedemi is the other half of the Kansas City defensive line. He gathered 42 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery and 4 sacks. Ifedemi has far our performed expectations of him but many wonder if he can consistently show this form in the next few seasons.

Brian Wheat - Wide Receiver (Kansas City Coyotes) S3 VETERAN
Wheat starred in 8 games for the Coyotes this year, racking up an impressive 41 catches for 583 and 2 touchdowns. Many would have assumed that Wheat's career was next to finished with his introduction down into the DSFL, but that's certaintly not the case and we could easily see Wheat playing in the NSFL next season. If not he's likely to continue to tear it up in the DSFL.

Andre Bly Jr. - Cornerback (Kansas City Coyotes) S5 PROSPECT
Andre Bly Jr. did not play a single regular season game this season for the Coyotes but did manage to post an impressive display in the Coyotes losing playoff game versing the eventual Reliculum champions , the San Antonio Marshals. The former Florida Gator snagged 1 interception and 1 pass deflection and was one of the lone bright spots for the Coyotes. Look out for Bly Jr. in this years upcoming DSFL season as a player to watch.

Shawn Guy - Kicker/Punter (Kansas City Coyotes) S5 PROSPECT
Shawn guy didn't play a single snap this season due to his lateness on the waiver wire. We can't offer an opinion about him or his play when we have seen next to nothing. S4 in the DSFL will be a big year for him.[/i]

Ryan Jensen - Running Back (Norfolk SeaWolves) S1 VETERAN
Jensen had limited snaps this season and only managed 11 rushing attempts in his 14 game appearances for 39 yards with 0 touchdowns. Jensen also caught 4 receptions for 39 yards from the backfield. With many scouts claiming that Jensen will "never have the ability to play anywhere but in the DSFL", you can't help but wonder if these claims are educated guesses or straight up facts based on his performances this year.

Trey Lonzac - Cornerback (Norfolk SeaWolves) S4 PROSPECT
Lonzac starred in 4 games for the Seawolves with 18 tackles, 1 interception and 4 pass deflections. Averaging a pass deflection a game is a solid start for a player only starting to find his footing in the league. Lonzac as we speak is preparing to enter the nearby S4 draft and his combine results could well seal the deal for NSFL GM's and scouts.

Angel Leon - Tight End (Norfolk SeaWolves) S4 PROSPECT
Leon started in 10 games this season, catching 52 passes for 332 yards and 1 touchdown. The third most receiving yards by a tight end in the DSFL, Leon looks all set to be a first round pick in a shallow draft prospect pool.

Shawn Ariel - Running Back (Norfolk SeaWolves) S4 PROSPECT
Ariel had a standout season this year in the DSFL with many already hailing him as the DSFL OPOY, OROY, and MVP based on his consistent performances. Ariel rushed for 982 yards and 8 touchdowns from 223 attempts over a 10 game period. Ariel also caught 13 receptions for 98 yards and 1 touchdown. Averaging 4.4 yards a game is solid in the DSFL but will this man be able to replicate that form in the NSFL when he's drafted in the upcoming S4 NSFL Draft.

Josh Davidson - Tight End (Norfolk SeaWolves) S1 VETERAN
Davidson spent the season on the SeaWolves where he caught only 4 receptions for 28 yards. Davidson also gathered 4 pancakes while allowing no sacks this season. Not a lot to be said for Davidson other than the chances are high that he will be a perennial DSFL player for the duration of his career.

Carlito Crush - Tight End (Norfolk SeaWolves) S5 PROSPECT
Crush played 1 game for the SeaWolves, posting 1 reception for 3 yards. A pro bowl season to be sure, but realistically we haven't seen enough of Crush to gauge his potential. We did see a glimpse of greateness in the playoffs however, where Crush claimed 14 receptions for 116 yards but many wonder if it was just a flash in the pan. Like many prospects on this list, S4 in the DSFL will be a huge barometer of his talent.

Victor Ball - Wide Receiver (Norfolk SeaWolves) S5 PROSPECT
Ball didn't play a single snap in the regular season but did perform in the off season with 5 catches for 59 yards. Just like Crush, we must take this with a grain of salt realistically. We don't know how good or bad Victor Ball will be, truly the only person that knows the answer to this question is Ball himself. This years offseason and the S4 DSFL season will make or break him.

James Warner - Linebacker (San Antonio Marshals) S3 VETERAN
Warner had a good season for the Marshals this year despite being brought in as a depth pickup more than anything else. 80 tackles, 2 tackles for loss and 4 sacks for a man many did not expect to perform in the depths of the DSFL. A highly touted S3 prospect at first, Warner made his way to the DSFL following a distinct lack of work ethic and attitude during scrimmages in practices.

William Sean - Wide Receiver (San Antonio Marshals) S4 PROSPECT
Sean spent the majority of the season playing as the Marshals #1 receiving target which allowed him to rack up 41 catches for 529 yards and 2 touchdowns. One wonders just how good of a season Sean could have had if he played those extra four games. He had the 11th most yards in the DSFL and you could've easily seen him break into the top 5, had the Marshals thrown more often and he featured in the previous 4 games. Regardless, Strong is a top talent in terms of the S4 prospect pool but his draft stock is likely affected by the sheer quality of wide receivers currently in the league, we could see a position change in the near future.

Jameis Christ - Quarterback (San Antonio Marshals) S1 VETERAN
NSFL disgrace Jameis Christ played in 6 games this year for San Antonio. He managed 110/179 from completions/attempts, 1193 yards, 3 touchdowns , 2 interceptions and an 82.0 quarterback rating. Most importantly Christ finished the year with a ring, something he would have never got if he stayed in the NSFL. It's an interesting debacle, will GM's Kckolbe and Iamsim22 stick with Christ at the helm? After all if it ain't broken why fix it? Or will they look elsewhere and try to court some upcoming rookie to take the helm? Could they even attempt to pick up Wolverine Justice in the upcoming S4 NSFL Draft?

Tommy Brown - Wide Receiver (San Antonio Marshals) S4 PROSPECT
Brown starred in 4 games this season and posted a statline of 12 catches for 144 yards. Considering his limited time on the field, the time it takes to learn the playbook and strategies and just general team chemistry. You couldn't really ask more from him, regardless he ends the season with a DSFL ring. It's a fools game to gauge where exactly and when he will be drafted.

Jughead Jones - Offensive Lineman (San Antonio Marshals) S3 VETERAN
Jones finishes the season with 31 pancakes and 4 sacks allowed in the 14 game season. Solid stats for a man who may just return to the NSFL one day. Averaging just over 2 pancakes a game is solid in the DSFL and will do wonders to any NSFL GM's scouting his stock. Jones has been uncharacteristically quite this season but many put it down to him wanting to keep his head down and "get on with the game".

Barrick Acolyte - Linebacker (San Antonio Marshals) S1 VETERAN
Acolyte had one of the most unexpected seasons in NSFL and DSFL history since Isiash Rashad lit up the league in S1. BA finished the season with 100 tackles, 6 tackles for loss, 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery, 13 sacks, 1 interception and 9 pass deflections. By any barometer, that is a world class season, especially for a man that has under achieved for the last 2 seasons. Acolyte could well be on his way to winning the DSFL LB of the Year award as he was undoubtedly one of the most impactful players on the defensive side of the ball.

Sean Strong - Wide Receiver (San Antonio Marshals) S1 VETERAN
Sean starred in every game this season and recorded 18 catches for 329 yards and 1 touchdown Very much a run after catch receiver, Strong makes his opponents silly with missed tackles in the backfield. Unfortunately he's rather a one trick pony, he more often than not finds himself unable to reel in passes, beat his man or find gaps in zone coverage and it's not through lack of trying. Work outside of the gym would benefit this man the most and it's clear he needs to study the game film more closely.

Luke Kraken - Linebacker (San Antonio Marshals) S5 PROSPECT
Kraken played in 2 games this year and had 4 tackles, that's literally it. A 12 tackles,1 tackle for loss, 1 pass deflection and 1 interception series of playoff games in the Conference and Reliculum final announced Kraken onto the DSFL scene. Many have hailed him as a standout prospect in the S5 draft and apparently his performances in the S4 DSFL season will show it. Time will tell if he's all that he's worked up to be.

Egor Medved - Defensive Tackle (San Antonio Marshals) S5 PROSPECT
Medved had 1 tackle in his 1 regular season game after entering the league so late. Medved accrued 10 tackles. 3 tackles for loss, 4 sacks and 1 fumble recovery in his short two game stint in this years playoffs. Easily one of if not the best performers in the final game, Medved's highlight tape has already been mashed up into various Youtube compilations accompanied by various deep house and techno soundtracks. The hype of this man is building but is his bark worse than his bite?

Nathan Clearwater - Safety (San Antonio Marshals) S5 PROSPECT
Clearwater didn't play a single regular game this season and during his playoff stint he amassed 8 tackles. He certaintly was a big part of the Marshals playoff run, racking up some valuable third down stops as well as helping play a large role in the zone dominated coverage scheme of the Marshals. Another headline prospect for the S5 draft, it's gonna be interesting how his career plays out.

Memphis Bloomfield - Defensive Tackle (Tijuana Luchadores) S1 VETERAN
8 games played, 18 tackles, 7 tackles for loss and 3 sacks. While not necessarily an impact player in the league, Bloomfield helps apply pressure on opposing teams offensive lineman, he doesn't need to beat his man, he just needs to waste their time. The Luchadores looked like on of the favorites this year but it didn't pan out this way even with all the pickups, fortunately for them it looks like Bloomfield isn't going anywhere any time soon.

Joey Langdon - Kicker/Punter (Tijuana Luchadores) S2 VETERAN
Joey Langdon did not played a single snap in the regular season or the post season so we can't comment on his ability or performances thus far..

Brent Lane - Kicker/Punter (Tijuana Luchadores) S4 PROSPECT
Lane went 18/19 from XP's, 20/22 from FG's which included 8/9 from 40-49. In his punting duties he had 111 punts for 5033 yards which include 18 <20's and a longest of a 64 yard punt. Solid consistent performances mean Lane's upcoming stock has no doubt rose. A reliable special teamer is worth its wait in gold in the NSFL and this year is no exception. Could we see Lane picked up before pick #5 and surpass Iyah Blewitt as the highest kicker/punter ever picked in NSFL history?

Den Bavis - Linebacker (Tijuana Luchadores) S4 PROSPECT
Bavis had 85 tackles, 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery, 3 sacks , 2 ints, 3 pass deflections and 1 safety. Bavis had an incredible season and was arguably one of the best linebackers in the league this season, while he could've settled for stat padding his tackles consistently, he chose for impact plays by often baiting quarterbacks, strip sacking or hitting high and hard. Bavis was unstoppable all year and has a successful career lined up ahead of him.

Blackford Oakes - Free Safety (Tijuana Luchadores) S4 PROSPECT
Oakes didn't appear in a single regular season game this season so his talent is pretty much under wraps. We can't gauge his abilities when we haven't seen him so he's very much a "sleeper" pick in the upcoming NSFL draft. Where and when he goes is all up in the air.

Callum Grey - Quarterback (Tijuana Luchadores) S4 PROSPECT
Grey didn't play in this years DSFL so again we can't really gauge his potential, current ability or past performances. Depending on his commitment to the cause, level of activity and work ethic we could easily see him shoot right up the draft board come the NSFL draft.

JR Vance - Tight End (Portland Pythons) S4 PROSPECT
To finish off this years waiver watch we have yet another late pickup who didn't play in a single regular season game. Vance also didn't star in their single playoff game against the Marshals so he's yet another unknown prospect in the S4 draft. What he does with his career is up to him but who knows how most of these prospects will turn out.

This finalizes our third and final chapter of this years Waiver Watch Season 3 series. It's been by far the toughest year in terms of writing this series, what with the time constraints of getting the series out in time and the sheer amount of prospects (31) being the most I've ever had the pleasure of writing about.
