*Portland Pythons Press Release - PDXBaller - 10-27-2017 [div align=\\\"center\\\"] Portland Pythons Press Release [/div] The Portland Pythons would like to congratulate 3 of our most active players on receiving selections in the S4 NSFL Draft. Noah Goodson - LB (@toivo) - #1 Overall Steven O’Sullivan – TE (@`StevenO'Sullivan`) - #4 Overall Andreas Waiters - DE (@Chukka) - #7 Overall Noah Goodson – Linebacker Arizona Outlaws As an integral part of the secondary, linebacker Noah Goodson provided the defensive stalwartness for the Pythons. Although a quiet member of the locker room, Goodson has proven to be a leader within the Pythons organization with a drive to become the best linebacker in the league. He will bring a composed leadership presence to the Arizona Outlaws and they are hoping that he will contribute to their reign over the NSFL for years to come. Goodson beat out Blackford Oakes, another potential number 1 pick, and we believe the Outlaws made a wonderful decision in selecting Goodson for their team. DSFL Season 1 Stats 111 Tackles, 4 Tackles for Loss, 1 Sack, 1 Int, 1 Pass Deflection, and 1 Touchdown DSFL Highlight Games Week 10 L 27-7 against CHI 11 Tackles, 1 Pass Deflection, 1 Int, and 1 Touchdown Week 12 L 23-12 against NOR 11 Tackles, 1 Tackle for Loss Week 14 W 27-21 against NOR 7 Tackles, 1 Sack Steven O’Sullivan – Tight End Las Vegas Legion Tight end Steven O’Sullivan was one of the most active and hardest working players on the Pythons roster. As a member of the O’Sullivan clan, he came from good stock as demonstrated by his siblings Julian of the Orange County Otters and Kristoffer of the Philadelphia Liberty. After getting drafted by the Las Vegas Legion, O’Sullivan was traded to Orange County shortly after to join his brother Julian. Playing tight end is not an easy position, and O’Sullivan took it upon himself to prove to the league that he was capable of becoming an impactful player on offense. O’Sullivan was the dynamic player that the Pythons needed and was more than capable of being the ‘glue guy’ that the offense desired. DSFL Season 1 Stats 17 Receptions, 119 Yards, 7 Yards Average, Longest Reception at 25 Yards, and 1 Touchdown 25 Pancakes and 1 Sack Allowed DSFL Highlight Games Week 2 L 16-13 against CHI 2 Receptions, 19 Yards, 9.5 Yards Average, 2 Pancakes Week 5 L 19-7 against SA 3 Receptions, 17 Yards, 5.7 Yards Average, 2 Pancakes Week 9 L 9-7 against SA 6 Receptions, 57 Yards, 9.5 Yards Average, 1 Touchdown, and 1 Pancake Andreas Waiters – Defensive End Las Vegas Legion Defensive end Andreas Waiters provided the bite that helped the Pythons become an intimidating defensive force. He led the league in sacks and wrought havoc on quarterbacks in the DSFL. He’s not a terribly active player, but has created a build that allowed him to shine in the DSFL with decent strength, tackling, and speed. He should provide a sufficient improvement for the defensive end position in the Las Vegas secondary and could become a star with more activity in the long run. DSFL Season 1 Stats 51 Tackles, 10 Tackles for Loss, 1 Forced Fumble and Recovery, 18 Sacks DSFL Highlight Games Week 1 L 26-3 against TIJ 5 Tackles, 2 Tackles for Loss, 2 Sacks Week 2 L 16-13 against CHI 3 Tackles, 2 Sacks, 1 Forced Fumble, 1 Fumble Recovery Week 8 W 31-3 against TIJ 9 Tackles, 2 Tackles for Loss, 2 Sacks The Portland Pythons organization wishes these three players the very best of luck as they continue their careers in the NSFL. We are very proud to claim them as former Python members and will sorely miss their presence on the team!
