Make offseason shorter - StevenOSullivan - 10-30-2017
Honestly, the offseason is way too long. I know there is a lot going on with the draft, with player changes, with free agency, but offseason feels like it takes forever. Some things just don't feel necessary to wait that long, like award shows and pro bowl and all of that taking days to do. Offseason should be a week at most, to keep players active and interested. With how many people are going inactive constantly, offseason has to be one of the bigger issues with that. Plus it makes careers much quicker which is a good thing.

I don't think awards and pro bowl are what's holding things up. My biggest gripe is giving preseason an entire week. But I understand that a lot of that hinges on the updaters who are currently behind.

Biggest reason now is because we are short on updaters and updating everything takes a while

Honestly, this is the most hectic offseason I've had. Once we get a few DSFL timelines nailed down, maybe it will be smoother, but for now there is a lot of shit going on, some of which HAS to wait on other shit.

The only reason Award Shows & ProBowl taking so long was the late hiring of the Awards Committee. It'll come a lot faster next season onwards.
They also do not affect the scheduling of the season. That's something to see with the Commisioner & Head Office as well as the Simmers.

Much faster than last year for sure. I think the problem is The whole end of the season leading into the offseason, draft, and then preseason. during the 3 main weeks, we go through 4 games per team, with 4 matchups in the NSFL and 3 matchups in the DSFL, for a total of 28 games a week. then the last week it is cut down to 2 games per team, which is 14 games a week, which isnt bad. Then the playoffs, which is 3 games NSFL and 3 games DSFL. then we wait a couple days for the draft, then we have a week of preseason.
week 1 - 28 games (preseason)
week 2- 28 games
week 3 - 28 games
week 4 - 28 games
week 5 - 14 games
week 6 - 6 games
week 7 - 2 drafts
we can see how it progressively gets less busy as we go along the season. we have 3 weeks of awesome activity and 3 weeks where we have barely any games, only to be greeted by meaningless games for another week. It is necessary though because HO needs some sort of break and we need to get ready for the drafts. Maybe combine weeks 13-14 with the Playoffs? That might help eliminate a week, but also be really hectic during that period and all of the season for GMs and HO.
