I think it is an interesting topic, stolen or not. Personally, I like to think of it as an alternate reality where the NFL doesn't exist and the NSFL replaces it. Or maybe just a rival on par with the NFL. Some of our PTs have referenced the NFL and I think it would be difficult to avoid referencing it, but I think we like to feel that our players are competing to be "the best". If we think of it as a CFL / XFL situation, then it just feels like no matter how hard we work, we'll still be guys that weren't good enough for the NFL.
Ultimately, though, it's all head cannon. I'm sure different people see it different ways. It's all about what makes it more enjoyable for you on a personal level.

So now I RP NSFL as a competitor league to NFL, meaning for realism sake -- and based on the salaries we get -- it has to be a tier below.
