Ryan Sierra – DT – Orange County Otters
A Prospects Season 5 NSFL Draft recount

Tonight, was the Season 5 NSFL draft. Many people had their opinions and analysis and projections on how this draft would unfold. There were three players most teams were talking about, two of which were all but signed by the Colorado Yeti, as they had both the first and second picks of the first round. There would be no doubt, Carlito Crush and Andre Bly Jr. would go one and two overall. The third player in question, who may sneak into the top two was John Wachter, a wide receiver and teammate of both Crush and ABJ. According to all the those who mocked this draft, Ryan Sierra would be a footnote pick, as the top rated offensive lineman and almost no need for rookie OL in the NSFL, he would be drafted as an active prospect. Having conversations with Colorado, Baltimore Hawks, Orange County Otters, Yellowknife Wraiths, and Las Vegas Legion, Sierra was confident he would be a first round pick and could surprise many a General Manager and analyst going third overall to the Baltimore Hawks, simply due to the fact they already have a couple great wide receivers on the roster.
With Sierra’s willingness to change positions and many organizations need for defensive lineman, he would be a steal for anyone to draft. The biggest questions for many teams would be what a position change would cost them when drafting Sierra. Would they elect to keep him in OL and send him down to the DSFL another year to “season” or would they ask him to change position. Having been in contact with many people regarding the possibility of a position change, the final decision would need to be handed down from the Head Office, as Sierra applied for a free position change.
As the first pick is announced, Ryan is just getting settled into his seat at the Bubinga Lounge hosted draft viewing party, in Reno, Nevada. Pick number two comes in, ABJ is announced, the only surprise is that Colorado didn’t make him number one overall. The Hawks are on the clock, and Sierra gets a little butterfly in his stomach, feeling his first real opportunity to get picked in now. The pick rolls in, “with the 3rd pick of the season 5 NSFL draft, the Baltimore Hawks select…….John Wachter, wide receiver, from the Portland Pythons. The Yellowknife Wraiths are now on the clock.”
A little surprised, but not shocked, Sierra sits back with a deep breath and focuses on the big screen. Having had conversations with the Wraiths, the fourth pick could also yield his name. “With the 4th pick, the Yellowknife Wraiths select, Cameron Taylor, Safety from the Portland Pythons. Arizona Outlaws are on the clock.”
“Hmm.” Ryan thinks to himself, as he reaches over to take a drink of his water. Uncertain of what to expect with the fifth pick, he never heard from the Outlaws in the interviewing period leading up to the draft. But with Baltimore picking sixth, he feels this is where his sweet spot is. A team he’s familiar with, in a spot where his value is extremely high. As Arizona announces their surprising pick, it’s not for Sierra. The surprise to everyone outside of the Outlaw war room is their pick of former TJ Luchadores teammate and punter/kicker, Dean Jackson. “Oh shit!” exclaimed Ryan. “That’s my boy!” says, Sierra as he excitedly speaks about Jackson.
This is it, the pick where many of the analysts and Sierra feel he fits the best. “With the sixth pick, the Baltimore Hawks select……..” Ryan’s heart is beating so heavy right now with anticipation. “…..Cornerback, Gregory Fletcher, from the San Antonio Marshalls.”
“WHAT? He’s not even best CB in this draft!” Ryan yells at the screen. His frustration is starting to show now. His friends and family begin to approach him, trying to console and comfort him. Quickly, the next pick is already to be announced as the commissioner is at the podium. “The Orange County Otters select, offensive lineman, from the Tijuana Luchadores, Ryan Sierra. The Otters are still on the clock, as they also have the 8th and final pick for the first round.” The lounge erupts with cheers and screams of excitement as Ryan’s friends and family have finally heard the name of someone they dearly love, just announced his dream come true, becoming a professional football player in the NSFL.

Ha ha... I'm pretty sure, if it wasn't for Terrell Brister becoming a co-GM with the Legion, slotting him for the 2nd round, you would have been bumped a few spots.
