Well it’s week 13 now and we’re riding high with a league best 9-3. Fans have been talking about us a lot recently and are hoping we can break the DSFL season record. Aaron and Rashaad have been trying to keep us focused on the last 2 games of the season so we’re trying to drown out all the noise. It is super exciting to think about though since we’d be the best team to beat the record and we’ve got the super stars on the roster to do it. I’m just happy to be here and finally gaining some new skills while working with the Pythons defense.

Our last home game is against Kansas City and they were a team we struggled against earlier in the season. We beat them 10-3 on the road, but it was an ugly game. The biggest difference now is that the team has gotten way better and I’m here to hold the line on defense, but coaches are saying that it’s going to be an ugly slugfest because of how the Coyotes play. They have the best cornerback the DSFL has ever seen with Andre Bly Jr. and great defense all around. They don’t have many offensive threats, but Marcus Robinson will be the guy I’ll need to stuff up the middle if we have any hope of containing him. Our defensive coaches said we needed to focus on stopping Robinson at all costs and also to find chances to rush Christian Adams since he’ s a great passer. They are only 3-8-1 right now, but will definitely give us trouble if we overlook them.

Well the game went as we expected and boy was it ugly. Like, not as bad as the first time we played them in Kansas City, but pretty bad still. For one, our offense couldn’t really get anything going against them. Williams or Bly were there to deflect passes and Jameis Christ threw 2 interceptions. Wachter and Crush had a rough go and neither of them got touchdowns and were pretty much neutralized. Wachter had 63 yards and Crush only had 35 since he was focused on blocking assignments this game. I did absolutely terrible against the Coyotes and their offensive line really overpowered me. I couldn’t get any tackles and they did a good job of holding me up so that I couldn’t create any pressure. At least Waiters and Otto got some tackles and some tackles for loss, but we didn’t get a single sack this game which kinda sucked. This was definitely another close game, but we held onto the lead after the David Turner touchdown late in the second quarter. We got close a few times in the third quarter and managed a pair of field goals so I guess that’s something. Our defense held out really well in the second and third quarters though. I’m super proud to say that our linebackers and secondary did a great job containing Adams and his pass game while holding Robinson to only 12 rushing attempts. We planned for them to run more honestly so it was surprising that they threw as often as they did.

They managed a touchdown early in the fourth quarter, but we held out and got another field goal to win the game 16-10. Definitely a closer one than we wanted, but we knew that going into the game. So now we are 10-3 and keeping the winning streak alive. We have one more game to go and will be on the road against Tijuana next week and then playoffs beyond that. We are pumped!!!
