DEFINITIVE S7 PROSPECT RANKINGS[/div]

Welcome to the first ever definitive NFY prospect rankings.

GMs of each player DSFL team, as well as our trusty DSFL commissioner @iamslm22, were asked to provide a rating for each prospect in the upcoming S7 NSFL draft class. Using TPE as a base, the result is a definitive ranking of who the best of the best DSFL prospects are in the upcoming draft.

This season was spectacular for the DSFL, with a surge of distributed talent and activity among all the player teams. Three different teams are represented by a rookie in the Top 4, and the fourth DSFL team is represented with the 5th OA best prospect. That type of parity and high-level of activity warrants a thank you to DSFL general managers and the players themselves.

Before we go into the rankings, here is the methodology used. The player’s TPE was divided by 10 to produce a base score, reflecting their activity and dedication to development this past season. Then, each of the contributing GMs and HO were asked to provide a rating of 1-10. Here are the following descriptors used for each level of that rating:
  • 10 = ‘Generational talent,’ immediate NSFL gamechanger
  • 7 = Immediate or soon NSFL player with significant value-add in their position
  • 5 = Potential NSFL depth, more likely to spend more time in the DSFL
  • 3 = DSFL Player
  • 1 = IA
Each score was added to the base to determine the Final Ranking Score (base TPE + ratings from GMs). In addition, we’ll release the average score for each prospect – there are some interesting cases where players were buoyed to higher ranking positions due to higher TPE but had lower average scores.

Before we dive into these stats and announce the list, here are some high-level details about this draft class:
  • There are 32 prospects included in NFY's Prospect Rankings.
  • Of those 32, 15 are defensive prospects and 17 are offensive prospects.
  • Despite that relative equal ratio of offensive to defensive talent, only 2 defensive prospects cracked the Top 8.
  • The average Final Score of the prospects was 29.56. That means 17 prospects were above average.
  • The average Avg Score of the prospects was 4.1. That means that average S7 prospect will have a tough time cracking their drafting NSFL roster.
  • The Top 8 prospects are all above the 3rd quartile of Final Scores (40.5).
  • The largest gap in Final Scores was between the 1 OA prospect and the 2 OA prospect (14.1). The second highest? Between the 2 OA and 3 OA prospects as well as 4 OA and 5 OA (5 and 5.2 respectively).
Without further ado, here is the definitive S7 NSFL Prospect Rankings, provided by Not Famous Yet.

FIRST OVERALL RANKED PROSPECT

[Image: w64L5Dnm.jpg]

KCC HOWARD MILLER KCC
@`BenLongshaw` | WR
Final Score: 72.9 | Avg Score: 10.0
14 GS – 91 REC – 1269 YDS – 2 TDs

This should come to no surprise to any reader or scout who hasn’t been burying their heads in the sand. Miller is an incredibly gifted receiver who is dedicated to his profession and his build and has absolutely dominated this season. Winner of 2 out of 3 of the Triple Crown, Miller is the next generational talent available from the DSFL this season and he’s groomed to make an immediate impact in the NSFL next season. While there are other incredible talents available, Miller still stands head and shoulder above the rest of his class.

THE TOP FOUR

2nd OVERALL
SA VLADIMIR FYODOROVICH
SA
@majesiu | CB
Final Score: 58.1 | Avg Score: 8.8
13 GS - 33 TCK – 1 SCK – 3 INTs – 10 PDs – 1 DTD

Vladimir Fyodorovich, or as his famous nickname “the Siberian Swatter,” has been fantastic in the secondary of the Marshals this season. His commitment to development is unparalleled as a defensive back and its shown on the field. Despite playing tough matchups against the league’s best receivers, Fyodo elevated his game to a different level. For team’s looking to shore up defensive weaknesses, this is your pick. He’s shown an incredible diversity in his talent set, all buoyed by some incredible feet work and the ability to get to where the ball is going. The Siberian Swatter is the next great NSFL cornerback.

3rd OVERALL
TIJ VERSO L’ALTO
TIJ
@nunccoepi | TE
Final Score: 53.1 | Avg Score: 8.0
11 GS – 46 REC – 369 YDS – 16 PANCAKES – 1 SCK ALLOWED

Verso L’Alto is also probably an unsurprising top-four prospect for any scout who’s paid attention to the activity of the league. He’s a presence not only the field, but in the locker room and social life of both the DSFL and NSFL. For the talent tight end, that means the transition to any locker room will be smooth and he’s likely already got connections with most of the teams. None of that to say his ranking isn’t buoyed by that incredible stat line and demonstrated success on the field – all in 3 less games than many of his counterparts at TE. He’s an incredible talent who can provide hands, speed and skill under pressure.

4th OVERALL
SA RYAN APPLEHORT
SA
@Daybe | QB
Final Score: 50.8 | Avg Score: 6.8
13 GS – 97/206 – 830 YDS – 4 TDs – 7 INTs

Ryan Applehort is very gifted QB who might have ranked higher except for one small detail: his position. Some contributors to the ranking were unable to afford Applehort the score of 7+ that they think he has potential for, due to the abundance of NSFL QBs and the lack of need in the position. For Applehort, that meant his average score is slightly below that of #5 OA. However his commitment to success and development has lead to a whopping 168 TPE giving him enough of a base to secure the 4th OA prospect spot. Despite having some tough times on the field this season, fans of Applehort are quick to point out he was usually playing second fiddle to sophomore Mike Vick in San Antonio and demonstrated a knack for the endzone despite having the fewest touches of any starting QB. Applehort is a must-grab pick if you’re looking for a dependable QB who’s going to develop into something special.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

THE TOP EIGHT

[Image: PsMHWgYm.jpg]

#5
POR MARK GRAU
POR
@keanex | WR
Final Score: 45.6 | Avg Score: 7.0
11 GS - 57 REC - 644 YDS - 7 TDs

Yet another waiver addition to the DSFL, Grau was a huge pickup for the Portland Pythons. In 11 games he managed to tie for first in the league, notching 7 touchdowns and absolutely dominating the redzone - his 7 TDs come despite relatively few long receptions, with an average of 11.3 YPC. That’s a helluva hands and agility combo that gives Grau a special skillset in comparison to some of the other WRs in his class. Although his Final Score is a slight drop off from the Top 4, he was a unanimous average score of 7.0 - meaning every DSFL team believes he’ll spend the start of S7 in the NSFL with a significant value-add at receiver.

#6
POR COLE MCCOY
POR
@TrueTexican | QB
Final Score: 44.0 | Avg Score: 6.2
14 GS - 122/211 - 1156 YDS - 6 TDs - 4 INT

The Cowboy has slowly developed into the second top QB prospect this draft. The steady development plan by Pythons management, and McCoy’s patience in honing his craft behind Christ for a good portion of the year, has paid huge dividends. McCoy is everything you’d want in a prospect - engaged, trusting of the system, and successful to boot. This is another case where most GMs were scared by the position and ended up lowering his average score closer to 5 than 7 due to his position. He made #6 on the back of his development with 131 TPE. If you’re looking for the QB of the future, McCoy is a tempting candidate who you can trust to develop into the clear starter.

[Image: Q0xlHMmm.jpg]

#7
SA ALVIN CHIPMUNK
SA
@andybj | TE
Final Score: 43.9 | Avg Score: 6.4
14 GS - 42 REC - 284 YDS - 1 TD - 17 PANCAKES - 1 SCK ALLOWED

For any team looking to add TEs to their system, there are two top tier candidates available this draft: Verso L’Alto and Alvin Chipmunk. Both have demonstrated not only a knack with the ball but also without it. Chipmunk’s 17 pancakes were the second highest by a TE in the DSFL, and his touchdown puts him in elite TE company within the development league. Beyond that, Chipmunk has been a leader in the locker room, despite being a rookie, and a proven social player.

[Image: 6g8TDzhm.jpg]

#8
TIJ DESTA DANGER
TIJ
@DestaDanger | CB
Final Score: 42.6 | Avg Score: 6.6
13 GS - 58 TCK - 2 FF/1 FR - 1 SCK - 3 INTs - 11 PDs

Desta Danger is only the second defensive back in the Top 8 for prospects in the S7 NSFL draft - both a testament to his skill at his position, but also the overall offensive-lean of this cohort. Danger does deserve to be the 2nd DB on the charts though, he’s dominated in his 11 games in the DSFL and made an immediate wider impact on the league, including active leadership and communication. In fact, GMs were so impressed with Danger that the average score was 6.6 - higher than both #7 and #6 ahead of him. It was only his 96 TPE holding him back from competing with Mark Grau for #5 on the list. A good Ultimus week and active TPE gains could see his draft ranking skyrocket.

Not to be that guy, but for some reason, my game stats are broken up into two different sets. So you're missing stats from two games. You can see if you sort the list by names.

Great article and I'm proud to be mentioned so high on the list! Congratulations to other soon to be drafted players, we are going to rock NSFL!

Although I'm slightly salty about double dipping with equipment (worth ~70-80 TPE) and tasks that I wasn't able to participate in as the waiver claim.
Sure I could've recreated but I loved Fyodo in Marshals uniform and can't wait to see what he can accomplish in NSFL!
