[div align=\\\"center\\\"]A Python for Life[/div]

Mason Brown was filling out his 3rd NSFL pre-draft survey and he thought back on how he had gotten here, it all started that day when he walked onto the Cedar Mountain/Comfrey Cougars Football practice field (A.K.A. the baseball outfield). That was when he knew he would strive in the game that he loved to play in the backyard, on the field, and also in the outfield. He knew he would be underestimated because this was Jr high and he had not played in his 4th-7th grade seasons.

[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Junior High Career[/div]

That day he was actually named 2nd string quarterback, behind a guy named Cade. Named 3rd string corner, and 5th string linebacker. By the end of the week he had lost 2nd string quarterback to a kid named Caiden, and stayed at 3rd string corner and 5th string linebacker. Since his team player 4-4 (one safety) defense he was always on deck. Then his time came in a game against Springfield Tigers, a powerhouse that year. The Cougars were ahead by 5 with 2:30 left in the game and the Tigers were threatening at the 17 yard line. Mason Brown was playing left corner. He did his routine drop back in his deep zone and he noticed that the right wide receiver was coming back around towards the left in the back field. Mason, having bit on this early, continued to drop back and then the wide receiver ended up getting the ball so Mason started to leave his zone to pursue the runner. Then out of no where a giant ass lineman probably 200 lbs hit the, back then 80 lb, Mason and he flew backwards into the wide receiver he was covering and then the runner walked it into the touchdown. Then on the 2 point conversion a linebacker named DeMario, who was very cocky, had the ball thrown right at him and he dropped the ball. Of course he blamed Mason for the score and when Mason brought up the drop he said "That would not've happened if you didn't give up the score. Mason was knocked out of the season the next game with serve concussion when he went for a pick and got hit in the helmet by no other than the infamous DeMario.

After his concussion Mason's family was against him playing again, but Mason, now 5'3" and 117 lbs, continued to play football. DeMario had transferred schools so Mason did not have to worry about getting a cheap hit. Mason had became unstoppable. He had grew 5 inches and gained 40 pounds from the year before. He had put so much time into football that he had put no time into school and his grades slipped. By the 3rd game of the season, Mason was ineligible. It took him 4 weeks to get his grades back up and he still second his conference in tackles and pass break ups for linebackers. He came back for the last game of the season and got 10 tackles, 6 TFL, 4 sacks, 1 int, and 4 pass break-ups. He finished the season with 89 tackles , 8 TFL, 7 sacks, and a pick.

[/div]
This was Mason's first year of varsity. Mason, now 5'9" and 175 lbs, started 3 games on JV, got 39 tackles and 12 TFL, and 8 sacks. Then a jock named named Tommy broke his fibula and was out for the season and Mason had to step up from JV to Varsity, but he would have to play backup to Devon. That was the moment when Mason vowed he would start Varsity by game 6. In a game vs. Mankota, 4th game of the season, got 8 tackles and his first force fumble. The fumble actually saved the game. Mankota's runningback, already rushed for 178 yards and 3 touchdowns, got the ball on the 6 yard line and got to the 3 yard line and Mason, already got trucked by him, knocked the ball out and returned it to the 36 yardline before getting ran down by the runningback. After that game Mason was starting MLB for the Cougars. He finshed the season with 35 tackles, 5 TFL, 4 sacks, a FF and a FR.

[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Junior Year[/div]

Mason tore his MCL, 3 weeks before the season during some conditioning he was doing, and did not get to play his Junior year.

[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Senior Year[/div]

After tearing his MCL the coaches seemed to move on from him because it took him 2 weeks to get a starting position as a WLB. At first Mason, now 6'2" and 200 lbs, was furious and then after his first game there he feel in love with the position, he got 12 tackles and 4 sacks, and did not care that a defensive tackle was playing at MLB. The defense was so hot that season and gave up 32 points and 838 total yards. They went to the playoffs and lost to Minneota in the semi finals, who beat Wabasso in state, Mason finished the season with 73 tackles, 3 short of the school record, 23 sacks, school record, 12 TFL, 4 picks, 7 FF, and 2 FR. His career totals were 108 tackles, 17 tackles, 8 force fumbles, 3 FR, and 4 ints.

[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Recruiting Day
[/div]

Mason had 5 teams in mind to be playing for:
  • South Dakota State University
  • Boise State
  • Syrcuse
  • Minnesota
  • Colorado State
He picked Boise State because they had a giant hole in the WLB position and offered him a half scholarship.

[div align=\\\"center\\\"]The Boise State Career[/div]

Mason Brown was red shirted his freshmen year and he conditioned some much that he lost 30% of his body fat and gained 48% muscle mass. He also ran into some problems in his freshmen year when he was at when he was at a party and his Quarterback, Mark Freeman, got punched because he bumped into a guy and Mark dropped to the floor, ended up have a broken jaw, and Mason stepped up and nearly kill the guy and his two friends when they try to take him. Mason was going to be charged with 3 charges of attempted man slaughter and 2 charges of assault. The 3 charges of attempted man slaughter were dropped and one of the assault charges, but he got 185 hours of community service and a fine of $1000 and was banned from the club. Mason also broke his fist in 2 different places and broke his hand in 5 different places. Mason was told that if there is another hiccup he would lose his scholarship and would be kicked from the college. Mason always had this in mind, if he would mess up again he would be kicked from the college. In his sophomore year he started at the WLB. Mason ended the season with 237 tackles, 37 TFL, 25 sacks, 10 FF, 3 FR, and 5 ints. Right before his Junior year Mason fucked up when he got in a bar fight when he was sitting with his girlfriend, Jade, and two guys got in a fight and Mason tried to break them up. He got in the middle and then one guy turned a knocked Jade over when Mason was talking down the other guy. He can't remember what exactly what happened next. All he can remember is Jade yelling "Mason!". He can not remember if it was while he was beating the guy or after he beat him or before. The next day he was notified that he lose his scholarship and was kicked from the college.

[/div]
Mason, now 6'3" and 242 lbs, ended up transferring to Colorado State and they offered him a nice and full scholarship. Mason had vowed to never go to a club or a bar. It was the only original five colleges that still wanted him. He started the at SLB for CS. He actually didn't play for 9 games because of a suspension from the NCAA. Still not playing 9 games he still got 186 tackles, 12 TFL, 7 sacks, 8 pass break ups, 4 FF, and 9 picks. Mason decided that he was going to wait to play in the DSFL because Jade was pregnant and was giving birth and wanted to be there for her.

[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Waiting for the call[/div]

When Mason decided that it was an okay time to join the DSFL he was so anxious the night before that he got no sleep and actually was asleep when GM PDXBaller called him to tell him he was a Portland Python. When he saw the number he went down stairs and tried to call him back and when he heard that he was a Python he woke up his daughter, Christine, and Jade. When Jade heard the news Jade were happy for me and started to pack a bag because he needed to be in Portland by 8:00 p.m. the next day.
