Every Preseason Scoring Drive:
NSFL and DSFL

NSFL
Week 1:

Game: Colorado Yeti vs. Philadelphia Liberty

The first score of this game came 5 drives from the opening kickoff. It started off with a pass from Oles to DiMirio, that was incomplete because Ryan LeFevre, the rookie, went up for the pick and almost came down with it but Josh Garden hit it out of his hands. Then Oles looking to repaid Garden for that save, lobbed the ball 11 yards down field to him. Andre Bly Jr. tried to get a diving pick but ended up missing the ball but tripped Garden up right away. Then Tyler Oles losing faith in Paul Dimirio. DiMirIo already missed 75% of the pass thrown to him, 2 of them being drops and 1 was almost picked by LeFevre. So any ways Oles drops back dodges a biltzing Haruki Ishigawa and before LeFevre could get him, he bulleted a pas to Botight for a gain of 2 yards. Then here came the play that helped the drive the most. Fox North, the 7th overall pick in the S2 draft, started a 8 yard zig route and made great cornerback Desta Danger fall over. Then Oles saw Desta fall he riffled the ball to North North made two very good defenders miss him, cornerback Andre Bly Jr. and Safety Michael Tillman, and wideout Josh Garden put a block on linebacker Johnathon Saint, and then North started to get tired around the Yeti 20 and got 9 more yards before the rookie Ryan Lefevre could catch him and make a tackle to save the touchdown. Oles seeing the nasty and awesome block that Garden threw knew who his next target would be and when he dropped back it was like it was in slow motion. Garden start his 2 yard slant and then he riffled the ball to Garden and Garden got the bal at the 8 and got 2 more yards before Bly caught up and tackled him. Then Oles feeling pretty confident audibled out of the run to a pass, but when he dropped back he noticed he had been wrong to audible to an all out inward slant play because all of the linebackers were a yard from the goaline in zone coverage. Then Oles lobbed the ball up to Garden but it hit him in the hands and fell out the back of the endzone. Then on third down Haruki Ishigawa, missing Oles on a previous 1st down was determined to et to the quarterback. Oles noticed that Johnathon Saint was blitzing off of the right edge of the line so he started to scramble still looking down the field and he never noticed that it was an OLB blitz and ran into Haruki Ishigawa on a very important 3rd and 5. Then Stephen Harris came out and kicked the Liberty to a 3-0 score. Then the Liberty defense stopped the struggling Yeti offense in their tracks and came back out on the field. This drive started out with a 2 yard pitch to Damien Kroetch. Damien tried to make Antonio Sandoval, the first overall pick in the S3 draft, miss, but the defensive end stood up the runningback. Then the Yeti got a penalty on the field because safety Bobby Ruckus stayed on the field arguing with Paul DiMirio. Then Tyler Oles noticed that Desta Danger was up tight on Wide receiver Fox North, so he hot routed the wide receiver to a fly and then he let North work his magic. North made the rookie corner stumble and then took off. Oles got hit by Sandoval as he threw but that did not matter because the pass got to North and he ran the it in. Following the extra point it was 10-0 Liberty. Following a pick by former 11th overall pick corner Clifford Rove and a pass brake up by Andre Bly, Oles was able to get the ball to the red hot Fox North for a six yard touchdown pass the score was 17-nothing Liberty. This preseason is not looking good for the Yeti. It was another Applehort mistake that lead to the next touchdown. Applehort, at this point just trying to make it to the half, dropped back and pumped faked to the wide open Dwayne Aaron and threw to the what looked like even more open Brian Wheat, but in realitty the 5 year veteran cornerback Kevin Cushing was lurking on the wideout and got the pick and started to return it he juke out Howard Miller and then got to the five where he stick armed Ryan Applehort to the ground and got the 32 yard pick six. To make it 24-0 Liberty. Then right before the end of the game the Liberty went on a long drive. It got jump started by a long 36 yard pass to very aglile Josh Garden, thanks to PFF we know Garden actually travelled 72 yards to get a 36 yard gain. Then to cap it off Kieran O’Connell ran the ball up the middle for a 4 yard gain. To make the final score 31-nothing, zip, and ziltch. The Player of the game was wide reciever Fox North with 3 catches for 101 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The call of the games was: Ryan Applehort drops back he pumps to the right to Dwanye Aaron and lobbs the ball to a wide open Brian Wheat running down the middle of the field and it is picked off by the 5 year veteran cornerback Kevin Cushing. He jukes out the rookie Howard Miller. He starts to run down the sideline, the 20, the 15, the 10, Applehort has a chance at the 5 and Cushing stiff arms the rookie quarterback Ryan Applehort and flips into the touchdown. Match-up of the day: Dwayne Aaron vs Andre Bly Jr., Aaron had 4 catches for 35 yards and Bly had 8 tackles 4 pass deflections and a pick.
