*The Otter's future after Angus Winchester - Toasty - 06-29-2018

After Mason Brown's stand out rookie season this year I wanted to take some time and look and see what will the otters defense look like with out Angus Winchester. We all have to face the fact that regression will continue to kick his ass and soon, maybe 3-4 more seasons, he will he have to hang up his cleats. I looked our stats and they were relatively even. They both had 94 tackles, Mason had 6 tackles for a loss, Angus had 3. Angus was able to force a fumble, Mason was not. Angus got 10 sacks, Mason was able to get 9. Mason got a pair of interceptions, Angus only got 1 interception. Angus batted the ball 10 times, Mason only batted it 7 times. This is a 1,000+ Linebacker vs. A 300+ linebacker. Mason actually started off the season quite slowly and near the bottom half in almost every stat. That shows he will continue to rise and eventually will be a better linebacker than Angus. But I can not take full credit because I am being mentored by @timeconsumer on the order of what i should be updating first. Thanks tc I don't know where Mason would be with out you. Also let's take a look at the playoffs Mason was able to get 13 Tackles and 1 was for a loss which is pretty god he believes Angus only got 9 Tackles a sacks and a batted pass. Yes this article kinda seems like it is trashing Angus but that is not the intention I am simply comparing stats. Last thing before I call it a night. If Angus were to retire right now the defense would fall apart. I am hoping after this qb class we'll get some active linebackers.

LB, DT and DE are in serious need as players retire and recreate as RBs, WRs and QBs.

People want the glory, not be the gears behind the success, I guess. When I retire and recreate, I'm definitely going to stay on Defense.

Yes and half the people who are recreating as qbs don't have the TPE security of i will make 12+ TPE per week and will end up retiring by S13. People like TC who make a shit ton of TPE should be the ones who are recreating as a qb. It would be sad to see him leave the defensive side of the ball though

Keep dreaming, buddy. You gonna have to beat me to the QB for 5-7 more seasons.
