Originally written as an article of sorts, turned it into this. Not sure where to post it though.

Standing 5’10” tall and weighing in at 185 lbs comes return specialist, Shannon Hobbs. Hobbs was asked to line up all over the field throughout his college career in order to give his team a spark. He returned both punts and kicks, lined up out wide at receiver, in the backfield at half back, or even in the defensive backfield at corner, safety, or nickelback; basically, anywhere they needed him.

His versatility, however, is also his downfall. He’s a sort of jack of all trades, master of none player which has made him a hard player to recruit.

Strengths:
Speed:
This kid is fast. He ran an unofficial 4.41 second forty yard dash and also competed in track and field in high school. He should be able to step onto any field in the DSFL and compete for the title of fastest player on the team. He has wheels that could make him a dangerous return man at the DSFL level and beyond.

Agility:
Not only does Hobbs have a high top speed but he can get there in a hurry. His ability to change direction is unparalleled coming out of college and should turn some heads at the combine. His 6.97 second 3-cone drill ranked as one of the highest of this incoming recruiting class as well.

Weaknesses:
Strength:
He’s a small guy and as such lacks any real strength. He won’t be putting up many reps at the bench press. He has to make use of his size, speed, and agility to evade tackles more than breaking loose from tackles out of pure power.

Size:
At 5’10”, he’s going to be shorter than either the players covering him or the players he’s covering. He doesn’t have much room to grow either. His frame can’t hold much more than the 185 lbs it’s currently carrying.

Forecast:
Work ethic has been a huge question mark in the past but if he remains focused, he has the potential to be an eventual star at the NSFL level. Looks to be an immediate impact player on special teams but not much else right off the bat.
