Draft Class Champions - dropbear - 07-07-2018
So I know we already have the official HOF for the league, but I was thinking it could be fun to develop a less formal way of recognising players. Sort of like an NSFLPA award committee thing.
My initial idea is Draft Class Champions. It's pretty simple, once every player from a single draft class retires or is auto-retired, a league-wide vote commences to pick 1 offensive, 1 defensive, and 1 special-teams (if applicable) player to be voted as the best player in each area from that draft class.
Another idea is simply a 'Hall of Very Good', for players in the limbo who didn't quite make the cut for the HOF, but are also too good not to get some sort of recognition.
This doesn't have to be something that HO runs or monitors, and in fact it's probably best if they don't, so I was more so interested to see if anyone would enjoy partaking in it when the time comes or working with me to put it together?
The Draft Class Champions is straightforward, but if we did go ahead with the Hall of Very Good instead/as well, we might need a way of quantifying who is eligible.=

Most teams have a "Circle of Honor" or something similar. Players that would qualify for the Hall of Very Good will proably make it into those.

I like the idea of draft class champions, as I think it brings something new to players who might not otherwise be getting awards.
Of course, that could just be the fact that there are 3 actives from my draft class to choose from...

I am very against the thought of "Hall of Very Good". Takes away from HoF and adds a tier system that diminishes the impact of the HoF. Your either in or youre not.
