Hello my name is Jacob Rowan i am the newly drafted Offensive lineman for the Baltimore Hawks and formerly for the Tijuana Luchadores. I was wondering if anyone here have any questions?
1. Over/under on pancakes this upcoming season?
Pancakes are the only highlight we Offensive linemen will get and it feels so good just being able to manhandle someone like that and push them to the ground........ Do i have a problem?
2. What's it like to be a part of the Wall in Tijuana?
Great, having a whole line stacked with tremendous players really boosts you to get better and it's good for a bit friendly competition to see who can get the most pancakes or allow the least amount of sacks.
3. Plans on the future?
Total domination. No but seriously i want to help my team to be the best they can be and i do that by being the best i can possibly be. I wanna win a few champonships before i retire and get some stories to tell my future kids.
4. How do you feel about being drafted to your new team in Baltimore?
Awesome, i never expected being drafted that high and getting drafted to an already winning team, even better.
5. What was your reaction to hearing your name called on draft day?
Well it started out by shock then just screaming and dancing haha. It was probably the best moment of my life. But i will create better with this team.
6. Who are you most looking forward to going up against in the NSFL?
I wanna meet the top picks in this draft like Nero Alexander for example. It will be rough and he looks pretty intimidating but i'm up for it.
7. In the short time since the draft, have you had any good experiences with teammates or in the locker room?
Well i have introduced myself and had a good talk with the GM about my position in this team and i really love it here. I haven't gotten to really know the guys yet but from what i have seen they seem like all good guys.
8. What can we expect from you in your career now that you know where you have been drafted and have had a chance to talk with your GMs a bit?
Well we have talked about my abilities and what i need to improve on which was really good for me. I am gonna start workin like crazy atleast for a week then after that i'll maybe go into a slump. But that first week, oooohhhh boy!
9. Walk us through the excitement of draft night, especially hearing your name called after having to wait for over 5 rounds.
I was prepared to wait for over a year to get drafted by the Hawks. Five rounds felt like a few seconds that night and i will always remember those few seconds. It was crazy i was getting calls and messages from left, right and centre. But i ended up just talking to my family. After that i celebrated with some pizza and a beer. Sounds kinda sad but it was fun.
10. How happy are you with your Baltimore landing?
Oh man, i don't know how to describe how happy i am! A winning team that has no sign of stopping, I am excited! Also i have never really been to Baltimore before so that will be exciting aswell! I'm reaaadyy!
11. Whats your favorite spot on the line to play?
Don't feel that much of a difference to be honest. But i like being the Center mostly because you see the most of the field from that position. But it is sometimes uncomfortable handing the ball to the Quarterback. Sometimes i think to myself " Go shotgun please!" haha.
12. Whats your season goals?
This season, this may be a longshot but i don't want allow a single sack and get 60+ pancakes. "Reach for the stars and you'll get to the moon" is one of my favourite sayings. It will be a challenge sure but in life you need challenges to better yourself
13. What are some goals for your career?
Help my team win, always. I came here to chew bubblegum and win championships. And i'm all out of gum. I hope this interview doesn't come back to bite me in the future
14. Do you think the connection between Tijuana and the former Tijuana GMs (now Hawks GMs) will make your pro transition more smooth?
Yes and i am very grateful for that so i can start my career in the NSFL the best possible way.
15. What odds do you give your new team to win it all this season?
They have the same chance as everybody else. But with that said i know who i'm betting on to winning it all. Just so you know i meant the Hawks, you got that right? right?
16. Any thoughts on the rivalry between Philly and the Hawks? Or the newly founded rivalry between the Sabercats and the Hawks?
Rivalries is what makes sport fun in my mind it gives you more of a reason to fight for in the game and it's one of the purest reasons. Instead of money or fame you just do it for the hate between two teams and glory and bragging rights of winning the game. With Philly yes they are a good team but i expect and i think everybody in Baltimore expects us to beat them. The Sabercats we want to get our redemption on after they won the Chip. And i can't wait to meet them.
