Hello and welcome to the first edition of Inside Action where Action Jackson himself will be going by team headquarters and talking to some inside each organization. This week I stopped by the Wraiths facility and sat down with the Gm and Jerrod Canton to see how the team is doing thus far in the season.
AJ: How would you say your first pick,Gracciejj2000, is coming along and is it on par with what you was expecting? How much time did you spend scouting him and was he your first choice?
GM: We are very pleased with our pick and his progression thus far. He was definitely our main target who had a great interview in the pre-draft process. He has great excitement, not only for us bu for the league in general plus he filled our biggest need heading into the draft, so yeah he was #1 from the start. Hes been staying late after practices and even got a league job as well. He’s great in our locker room as anyone can speak with him, very easy going. He’s not getting the best stats but that’s not to say he’s not helping because he filled a weakness and the stats will come. I believe in him.
AJ: If he wasn’t there who was your other targets?
GM: Both Mooty and Tomasnz was high targets. Both are good guys with excitement but we was fortunate enough to get our guy.
AJ: Being 4-2 thus far, tied with the Hawks for first, where do you believe you need to improve and how will you address those areas?
GM: We are lucky enough to have a roster with few holes. Our amazing scouting personnel have done a amazing job of scouting and constructing this roster for success. We had the two tough losses early on but we addressed it as a team and just continue to get better each week. Coach continues to put out the best possible strategy each week to put them in a position to win.
AJ: Looking at the roster Rb seems like a weakness, minus the FBs you have. Are you looking to improve that area? I’m hearing the Name Ashley Owens from a lot of insiders, is he possibly someone your looking at and have you been scouting him and others?
GM: I wouldn’t say it’s an area of issue as the two we have at FB are coming along and doing fine. Those are the only two we need at the moment but not to say we wont address it in the draft. Guys like Ashley Owens don’t come around often so given the chance I believe we could find a spot on the roster for him. He’s a standout player and better person. We have very few “needs” so we will be taking our usual strategy of best available player come drat night. It’s worked great for us thus far so why change now? As for scouting, lets just say we are know for doing our homework on guys. We only want the best, not only on the field but off as well.
AJ: Last question coach, looking at the league where do you realistically see this team finishing?
GM: We had a pretty rough front end schedule but are still tied for lead in the conference so we believe we will still be #1 seed going into the playoffs. This is a hell of a conference though and tough games stll ahead so it’ll be interesting to see how it all plays out.
AJ: Thank you sir for allowing me to come visit you guys and pick your brain some. I’ve really enjoyed our time here and I hopefully will see you again to discuss your championship.
GM: Thank you and we look forward to seeing you then.
Next week I will be with Mr. Canton to get some of his feelings on the team and the direction it’s headed in. This has been Action Jackson reporting for Inside Action. Your weekly Newsletter with your favorite player, myself of course. Until next time my fans, I’m out of here.
