After the final game of the season, Ironside immediately packed his bags to head for some intense training atop the peak of Everest. Unfortunately for him, he was cornered at the airport on his way out and quickly swarmed. "Woah, woah. Slow down. I've got time for some questions before the flight and-" A loud clash was heard in the background as three rather large grizzly bears were seen wrestling behind Bjørn. Clearly they were getting impatient. "Hey boys, cut it out. The plane arrives in about 45 minutes." Bjørn glances back to the cameras. "Alright, ladies and gentlemen. What do you have for me?"
I honestly came into the season with no expectations at all, so you would think it would be easy for me to answer yes to that question. That said, I wasn't expecting my numbers to be nearly exactly tied with a guy like Trae Bacon. The guy hasn't put in any work since before the draft and is at the bottom of the pile for total skill level among defensive tackles. Not seeing the work I've put into staying at in peak shape and not better numbers than a guy like that was a little disappointing. I expected to be somewhat rewarded for the effort, but I've come to understand at times you just don't know what to expect in this game and I'll keep working to improve!
This one is tough for me. Coming into this league, I had no idea what I was getting into. I really didn't have an goals other than championships. I've been of the mindset from the beginning that as long as my team is doing well, I feel like I'm doing everything I need to. That said, championships aren't always an attainable goal. So I suppose if I had to pick a statistic to top the charts in? It would absolutely be sacks. I think hitting 100 sacks in my career would be pretty sweet and it'd show the level of dominance that Bjørn is really capable of.
In the same vein as the last question, I'd obviously love to play in a championship game. I know that New Orleans is going to make the leap soon. It may not be this coming up season, but then again it might. You can never really call these things, but if it happens it would be absolutely incredible. On a more personal level, I would like to get at least 10 sacks. Like I said, 100 sacks on my career is my ultimate goal. 10 sacks a season should be the marker I'm aiming for every single season!
Oh man, this one is hard. This is a league where everyone has their hot takes. They fly off the wall at every single chance they can and I'm not sure I can come up with something hot enough that it hasn't already been said, but here we go. The Austin Copperheads have built an absolutely monstrous roster. Before the end of next season, Austin will be one of the top two best teams in the league and be a legitimate terror to any team not named Yellowknife.
I would say a solid C on a letter grade scale. I landed dead average among defensive linemen. I wasn't anywhere close to the top, but I wasn't close to the bottom either. Dead average across the board. So I'll give myself a C. I expect to be better than that in the future though!
I think you're asking me this because the obvious answer is Yellowknife. They are as scary of a team as we've really seen and on paper I don't think anyone even come close to matching up with them. That said, they have a reputation to uphold. They'll make the Ultimus this time and get knocked out by the Otters!
Depends on what she challenged me to honestly. She can fly. I don't fight hoes that can fly. Taco eating contest though? No way she beats me there, I'd smash more tacos than she can imagine.
I gotta cheer for the Yeeti. They are massive underdogs going into a playoff bracket that has Yellowknife. They look to have a near impossible road, but I'm a sucker for underdogs and Colorado has some of my favorite people. If I would want anyone to win, it'd be them! Honestly though, I just hope there are some awesome games and some clear upsets.
Depends on what we're eating. Chinese food? Chicken 90% of the time. Mexican? Mostly beef. Especially on hot plates. Sizzling beef and salsa is where it's at. Japanese? Seafood all the way! Obviously you can mix and match, but if we're talking about ideal situations most of the time, this is how I'd roll.
This is such a loaded question for me. Honestly I've been surprised and a little disappointed in the lack of volume our offensive guys got. We had some absolute studs and they really had to sit on the shelf this season. They didn't get a real opportunity to stand out, so hopefully I'll have more to say next season on that side of the ball. For now lets look at defense though. The one most surprising player for me was Fabricio Baldari. The dude had an absolutely monstrous breakout year. I expected most of us defensive linemen to be pretty average our first year against these monsters at offensive line on the next level. Baldari managed to rack up nine tackles for a loss and four sacks though. He was disruptive all season long and it was impressive to watch. I have a lot of catching up to do if I want to be mentioned on the same level as him come next season!
This one hurts and hits close to home. Unfortunately, I always knew what the Seawolves were. I was told very early on not to expect much from the team. Wins, progression, longevity. I was told not to expect any of that from the team I spent my first ever season on. For that reason, I never got incredibly attached to the team as a whole. Even then, I would be lying if I said it didn't sting a little bit. Myrtle Beach has had incredible success in a lot of ways in the last season and a half and it hurts to see that Norfolk wasn't able to make the same strides. Watching the team get returned to its status as a bot team will be hard if that is the fate of the team, but it is honestly what I expected all along and so I can't get to upset about it.
Oh man, I think I've mentioned this before, but I've always been a huge fan of Thorian Skarsgard. That man is a legend and he is who I've modeled my game around. He always seems to produce, he always seems to be able to make the big play and I love seeing him work his magic. He's been reliable and consistent for a long time. More recently though, I've found myself admiring Bubba Thumper. He's still a young guy, but he has shown steady progression and even made a solid run at defensive lineman of the year this season. I hope I can make the kind of leaps in my game that he has so far in his career!
Oh, I will absolutely still be in New Orleans. I expect to be in New Orleans for a long, long time and hope to chase a few championships with them. I think we're capable of making the jump and I really feel like we should be a playoff team. I feel like we're entering a serious window of competition and I want to be one of the cornerstone pieces to that run. Personally, I just want wins man. I want to see progress and forward movement. Six wins at least. We can do this.
I'm going to go a little hype with this one and say Yellowknife vs Austin. I think Austin is going to grow into a juggernaut of a team and I think it'll be sooner than later. I could easily see them making the finals next season and maybe the season after that, we could be looking at them having a team strength similar to what Yellowknife has now.
Honestly it is hard to say that any team can put together a complete season of playing good football. Most teams have their streaks of hard times, just some hit their streaks at worse times than others. New Orleans was aware that the start of their schedule was against some of the weaker opponents and knew the second half of the season was going to be tough. Unfortunately, we hadn't quite made the leap to compete with the top teams yet. I do think that changes this season and I think we should be able to take games off of teams like Arizona and Orange County.
Bears? What be..Oh! those guys. That's Buttercup, Bernhardt, and Geoffrey. My brothers. I grew up with those guys. They're awesome training partners. That's why they're headed to Everest with me!
Bjørn could eat at least five racks of ribs in a single sitting on a low training day! Perhaps even more after a really solid work out. Bring all the ribs, Bjørn will eat them all.
Because it is. Pork is more versatile, its more flavorful, and it provides a wealth of options you simply cannot get with chicken or beef. Textures, flavors, and appearance all molds with pork depending on exactly what you want to do with it. Everything from crispy bacon to juicy ribs, pork has it all and it simply cannot be competed with as a stand alone meat.
Bjørn has in fact never made love to a bear. He has been propositioned by a bear in the past though.
A race depends entirely on how many tacos are used to lure Bjørn to said race. Bjørn would do about anything for the proper amount of tacos.
Easily my endurance. I've been working on it, but my game falls off hard the longer I'm on the field. A lot of fighting in the trenches comes down to who tires out first in the game. I'm fast, I'm strong, and I've put together a solid bunch of fundamentals. Now if I can just extend how long I can play at peak performance and then we'll really be rolling. Hopefully I can keep improving on that heading into next season!
I strongly believe that the team did what it had to do when those trades took place. Given the information provided, talks with the players, and the overall environment that surrounded each individual trade, I feel like the team made all of the right decisions. They let go of a few players who were not happy with their roles on the team, got a few positional upgrades in the progress, and also grabbed some top draft picks that hopefully develop into guys who are happy in New Orleans. They moved their players to teams where they knew they could succeed while also getting fair value for them so no one was let down on either side. This team is always looking forward and is always looking to keep an optimistic view. I think it is the right way to handle things and the team is really looking up going forward.
I adore everyone in this team's front office and think they're an absolutely great group who are dedicated to making their players as happy as possible. I love that they really work as a unit and they tend to vote and come to a unanimous conclusion on everything. They don't jump the gun, they don't make snap decisions, and they talk through every decision as a group before going through with it. It helps make sure that every decision is the right one for the group and no one is left with a bad taste in their mouth after a decision is made.
I cannot confirm nor deny that I am at all involved in the scouting process for the New Orleans Second Line organization. I cannot currently give any comments on the value, worth, or predicted placement of any athletes in this coming draft in any form of official capacity. Between you and me though? I think they should grab that guy Avon Blocksdale first over all and immediately pick up Willie Hardagain with their next pick. That'd really set this team up for success going forward with some absolute studs.
Honestly I just wish I could have had more impact overall. There was no one part of my game that I really hoped I'd explode in, I just wanted to have an impact and help get some wins. Unfortunately, I wasn't quite there this season and I hope that I can continue improving and excel in my role in the next.
Honestly just consistency. We have a very solid roster full of players who are growing and developing. As long as NOLA keeps doing what we've been doing, we'll be fine. We have a hole or two on the roster that might need to be addressed, but they aren't holes that really hurt the team overall. Still, patching them can only help our chances of winning and I think next season you'll see this team continue to improve. We'll be better than five wins.
Because Jordan is a man who knows how to promote himself and make money. He knows the kind of people who buy Hanes aren't the same kind of people who buy Jordan Brand underwear. Two different groups, two different income levels. He wants to make bank on both!
