I was reading this article the other day about the most prolific kick/punt blocking artists in NFL history. Naturally, I figured I would apply this to the NSFL. This isn't what I would call advanced statistics, but I like unusual plays that happen on the field. Data collection was the hardest part, I went cross eyed looking through nineteen seasons worth of defensive pages.
Rarity: In 19 seasons there have 80 total blocks of punts, extra points, and field goal attempts.
There have been 70 different players with blocks, 3 of which were bots in the sim:
These 10 players are the only ones with multiple blocks, nobody has done it more than twice.
Other Observations:
*Blocked punts account for 71 of the occurrences, 7 field goals have been blocked, and just 2 extra points.
Of the two players with an extra point block, only one of them is human. That would be Jimbo, a SS from BAL. The other was Sbot of the deceased LV franchise.
*P. Carter and M. Ramiro are the only players to record a block wearing two different uniforms.
*K. Hendrix is the only player to record more than one block in a season.
