*steam rises from a coffee-cup. Daniel George pulls it away from the camera. There's condensation on the lense. After a moment it clears. A hooded figure is crouched over a hot drink. He clears his throat.
George: It was a cold day on the farm today. My ex is in Scottsdale right now, at some horse show with her new boyfriend. I was left to hang her stupid halter racks in her new tack room. The only reason I agreed to do it was to free up the spare stall that's full of her shit right now. At least then I can buy a couple of coops to get my chicken game going. Since the divorce half of the horses have been sold or moved off the property. We just have a couple of trail horses and two mini's left, along with a few clients who haven't run out of their boarding contracts yet. As the stalls free up, I get to keep half. The other half goes to my ex. It's a good compromise, certainly not the case down by Spokane. That ex gets the whole barn.
*George clears his throat and takes a sip
George: The Internet was hit or miss today. That's usually the case out here in the country. The live feed of this podcast will likely cut-out again, hence the transcripts. One day I might get this YouTube thing figured out. I see other prospects talking about doing podcasts or radio shows. Collaborating seems like a good time but right now I just need to remain on my own grind. I'm out here chucking hay, shoveling shit, flipping tires, putting up plywood, whatever it takes to keep this old farm running. I don't see other prospects doing that. They're too busy talking shit on Twitter or spamming the Discord to notice. In between losing reception I've been keeping up with the updates, rumors, scores. The most interesting thing I saw today was rumors, confirmation, then some discrepancy regarding a new DSFL expansion. If it does happen I would not mind possibly working with that franchise. I'm always willing and able to work hard and win for whatever team does end up drafting me. I'd love to stay close to my homes in Alberta and Washington but these days you got to take an opportunity when it comes. For now, I'm just going to keep working hard to get a chance to work with a top-tier DSFL franchise. I'm not here to treat that franchise as a stepping stone to the NSFL. I want to be part of a winning culture in order to give my teammates the greatest opportunity to succeed.
*sips coffee
George: And I would like to score as many touchdowns as possible. As good as winning maybe, at the end of the day you got to bring home the bacon, or in my case the eggs. I got to cut this podcast short and head back out there. Halter and saddle racks, then clear some space for the coop. Just another day on the farm.
