Disaster has struck the tourist happy beach within the last few weeks, the coronavirus dubbed Covid-36 has infected many in the area and has led the city to be put into quarantine. The outbreak is said to have started when a family from Minnesota visited the beach last week. As we all know it has only been a few weeks since the discovery of Covid-36, the worst coronavirus since 2019, in Minnesota as a man suspected of eating a Grey Duck contracted the disease. All of the beaches have been shut down and mini golf courses closed until further notice.
An unknown amount of people have been affected as it has been reported that the Minnesota family was seen shopping at a local food lion, where one of the children was even seen licking random objects. That food lion has since been thoroughly cleaned and bleached with all stock being thrown away. Unfortunately for the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers, recently drafted Quarterback Tom ‘Mr. 271’ Sofa considered that same grocery store to be his main hub, and was even seen autographing pictures and taking selfies with fans the same day of the occurrence. He has since been taken into quarantine and has been banned from DSFL play until he either proves his health or recovers from the disease.
While this is tough news for the ultimini hopeful Buccaneers, it is still a necessary precaution. All home games played in Myrtle Beach will be in an empty stadium until further notice. However as to not lose ‘home field advantage’ the DSFL has agreed the stadium is allowed to play nickel back as loud as possible from the stadium speakers while the away team is on offense.
Now some may speak that this is all an attempt by the Grey Ducks to take down their biggest opponent early as the father of the family was unashamed to wear his Grey Duck gear, this is still being treated as a coincidence. The circumstantial evidence of that, his lack of good parenting, and the fact his car was painted with the slogan ‘Go Grey Ducks! Beat the sick Bucs!’ has been reported to both the police and the league but no foul play is suspected.
As for Tom Sofa no known return date will be available until he has been thoroughly tested for the disease, but it is suspected he will not be ready until late in the season. Public health experts put his return to be around week 12 but others say he will not return until the playoffs. While this is a significant hit to the Buccaneers they will look to their mainstay at QB, Chris Ramos. No other Buccaneers players has been quarantined or have been reported to be infected.
