Eric Richards had just got done with his MMA training for the day and was jogging around the streets of Chicago to stretch his legs out. He knew he had to get home soon to help Clair with the furniture she bought from an estate sale, bit he also knew he had time to just jog home. As he went near an alley, he heard a familiar voice yelling for help
"Wait- Tsuyu?" Eric said as he paused to try to hear the yell better. As soon as he heard it, he knew it was her: Tsuyu Asui, the frog girl he helped become a football player. He ran towards the source of the screams and saw her being held and harassed by a group of young thugs who were wearing messed up clown makeup on thier faces for some reason.
"Hey let go of her!" He yelled, fists clenched in anticipation. The tallest of them who he assumed was the leader stepped up to him, letting Eric study him. He honestly looked ridiculous, a tall white maybe 17 year old in clown makeup and torn clothes. He looked more like a poser then a real gangster.
"What does it matter to you, big old football player?" The guy said as he got closer "Names Stretch, and we are The Jokerz! We are the biggest meanest game in Chicago!" Eric held back a laugh
"Sure you are. Big mean old gang harassing someone who can't fight back."
"Hey buddy she rubbed us the wrong way!" Stretch said, embarrassed "what is it to you anyways?"
"Well I suggest you stop before someone- and by someone I mean you- gets hurt" At that Stretch tries punching Eric but he catches it with his hand and takes him down with a hip toss
"Ugh! You peice of crap, that hurt! Get him boys!" The rest of the gang attacked Eric- well they tried but he kept taking them down without even throwing a punch, using his newfound skills in judo and wrestling to stop every attempt at an attack. When most of them were knocked out, one attempted to sneak up on Eric but suffered a lot blow from Tsuyu.
"Hey thanks for the save" Eric smiled as Tsuyu dusts off her clothes
"Thank me?! I should be thanking you!" Tsuyu says, surprised "I don't know what would have happened if you didn't come along!"
"Yeah I get it. How did you make them mad?"
"Oh I don't know honestly, maybe I was an easy target. I was lost before they found me"
"Ahh I get you." Eric then prepared to go back on his jog "why don't you jog with me? I know Clair must be worried about me"
"Sure!" Clar smiled as they jogged together, Eric showing her where most of the major landmarks are so she doesn't get lost again. They soon reach Eric's house, where Clair immediately hugged Eric
"You had me worried! You were supposed to be home an hour ago! You should have called me! Clair fretted, checking him for bruises "and wait- who's this girl?" She points to Tsuyu "I know you want kids but you can't just pick one off the streets"
"Oh this is a girl I saved from so so-called gangsters. She's the one I said was given a spot on the youth football team"
"Oh hello! You must be Tsuyu!" Clair smiled as she looked down at the frog girl "Eric has told me a lot about you"
"Really?" Tsuyu asked, surprised "huh didn't think he would talk about me much"
"Yeah he did. Do you have a phone you can call your parents with so they can pick you up?" Clair asked
"Oh yeah I do. Give me a minute" Tsuyu went to call her parents while Eric looked through the new furniture
"Well we needed a new fridge" Eric said as he examined the big fairly new fridge "our old one is losing some of its power. Plus its starting to break in places"
"Trust me I know" Clair sighs "I also got a couch to replace that dirty one"
"Did you get someone who can help us move these in?"
"Of course dear they will be here in 2 hours or so" Clair smiles as Tsuyu comes back up to them
"My parents are on thier way" she says "I think they are a bit mad at me..."
"Yeah I get that" Eric says "they are probably worried sick"
"Right." She plays a bit with the neighborhood basketball goal until her parents come up "here's when I am grounded..."
"Tsuyu! I was so worried!" Her mom said as she hugged her "you knew the route to take, why didn't you take it?!"
"Well...I..." She stammered before Eric stepped in
"She was grabbed by some hooligans on the way" he said "I managed to save her because I was jogging"
"You were the one who saved her?" Her mom said as she hugged him "Thank you so much!"
"You said she was attacked by hooligans?" Her dad asked
"Yeah by a gang calling themselves The Jokerz if you can believe it. Full clown makeup and everything. Weren't a problem for me. It wasn't her fault, she was considered an easy target"
"Well then I guess you won't be grounded" her dad smiled "though we we will now have a chaperone take you to practice and back"
"That's fair dad" Tsuyu smiles, relieved that she isn't being punished
"Well I am glad things worked out" Eric smiled "just in case something like this happens again, I'll give you my contact information so you can call me"
"Yeah that probably would be for the best" Het dad says as they exchanged contact info. Her parents then take her home as Eric went back to looking through the furniture.
