Greetings and salutations, ladies and gentlemen!
The Minnesota Grey Ducks have added a lot of talent to their roster after the DSFL draft, with an astonishing twenty-four picks. This breakdown serves as both an introduction to these new players, but also as a way of highlighting their strengths on the gridiron. Without further ado, let's dive right in with the first pick of the draft for the Grey Ducks.
R1 P2 - CB James Gath/Beefstu409
TPE 160
With an 88 speed rating, Gath can certainly compete in the DSFL, and will immediately boost the Ducks secondary. It's obvious the front office in Minnesota thought highly of him, taking him with the number 2 overall pick. He's been a consistent face in the locker room, and is all around a good dude. Look for him to make an immediate impact on defense.
R2 P10 - RB Jameson Vermillion/Vainknight13
TPE: 159
The first of many, many former Tiburon Landsharks to be taken by the Grey Ducks, Vermillion is a speed merchant who can also catch the ball out of the backfield. His many talents include doing backflips after touchdowns, as well as being versed in JiuJiutsu. Another active teammate in the locker room, he'll earn plenty of TPE and touches this season and has a high ceiling.
R3 P18 - WR Killian Chambers/charlit
TPE: 159
The second former Landshark to be taken is Killian Chambers. I'm not the only one expecting Chambers to have a big season his rookie year. He's close to maxxing out his speed, and his hands are decent for a rookie as well. He's been a consistent TPE earner, active in the locker room, and will look to establish a strong rapport with the Grey Ducks next pick.
R4 P26 - QB Matt Peterson/Peterson
TPE: 97
Here's a kid who knows how to win big games, leading his Prospect Bowl team, The Brooklyn Atlantics, to victory in the finals. He's a very balanced QB at the moment, and with the right mentoring in the locker room, Peterson will have the chance to develop as the season goes on. Oh, and he has a new number, switching to #5 from #7. Sorry if you've already purchased your #7 Peterson jersey.
R4 P30 - RB Mike Rotchburns/SchoolboyShue
TPE: 175
Rotchburns been a monster in the TPE category as a rookie, and has impressive strength already at 89. The Grey Ducks have drafted a strong change-of-pace back who will be the hammer to compliment Vermillion's more slashing style of running. He's going to give defensive linemen headaches on those 3rd and short situations as he continues to develop.
R5 P37 - CB Curtis Blackshear/sovietseph
TPE:77
Blackshear's agility (70) will make him an easy pick to play the inside slot corner position covering twitchy receivers on short to intermediate routes. Hie has the potential to earn more TPE and really upgrade his game with some speed boosts, but as is he will be able to help this Minnesota defense right out of the gate.
R6 P42 - DE Brick Van Sanzo/snazzlepuss22
TPE: 123
You know hiim, you love him, just don't get on his bad side, the third Tiburon Landshark taken by the Grey Ducks is none other than Brick Van Sanzo! A monster on the line, Sanzo has one mission on his mind at all times: Get to the QB. He's been a great presence in both the Landshark and the Ducks locker room, and has recently put out some stellar media. He's versatile enough to play in different spots on the line, so don't be surprised to see the Ducks defense move him around a bit.
R7 P50 - TE Cleg Manclaw/Cynoblaze
TPE 94
Another Landshark making waves in Minnesota! Manclaw remains one of the best blocking tight ends in this years' rookie class, and he demonstrated his hands during the Prospect Bowl as well, picking up a touchdown and 12 receptions. His skill set will be extremely helpful to Vermillion and Rotchburns, and he is an active member of the locker room. As he develops, it remains to be seen how his hands will improve and how the Ducks will utilize him in red-zone situations.
R8 P58 - LB Wasrabi Gleel/Crodyman
TPE: 136
Simply the steal of the draft. Already max speed, and sharp as a whistle, Gleel is going to take over the MLB position for the Ducks as he establishes a tandem role to the LBotY and DPotY in Alejandro Chainbreaker. Gleel gonna gitcha: When you hear the honk, you'll feel the bonk.
R8 P61 - OL Sterling Moss/SportingMoose
TPE: 59
The first OL taken by the Ducks, Moss is a raw prospect with all the intangibles needed to help his football team--namely, that he's a player and not a bot. We'll be watching Moss with great interest.
R9 P66 - WR Noah Akerele/incitehysteria
TPE: 131
That's right, it's another wonderful Landshark player! Akerele has all the tools he needs to make an immediate contribution to the Ducks offense, and has been a consistent TPE earner during his rookie season. Getting someone with his potential in the 9th round is simply a masterstroke of genius by the Minnesota Front Office.
R10 P74 - CB Jeeeeroy Lenkins/LewisMelville
TPE: 97
Lenkins is a quality player who had 4 INT's during the Prospect Bowl season. With a speed of 80, he is certainly talented enough to play in the DSFL, but is still raw in other areas. He has solid hands, however, and the Ducks will hope he continues to have a nose for the football.
R11 P82 - K/P Bill Brasky/BillBrasky
TPE: 65
Brasky is a solid kicker, and will immediately compete for a role as a starter.
R12 P90 - WR Lebby Newton/Newty
TPE: 89
Newton is the definition of a work-in-progress type of player. He has a lot of room to grow, but in time he can be a real contributor to this football team.
R13 P98 - WR Willy Weasel/Weasel07
TPE: 59
For not having a ton of TPE, Weasel has utilized it to the best of his ability with a 79 speed. Developmental prospect through and through, we'll hope he can learn from his coaches and teammates on how to best improve his game.
R14 P106 - CB Lukas Hinsetzen/SPK
TPE: 59
That's right, ladies and gentlemen, we have ANOTHER Landshark, making it seven sharks total so far. Hinsetzen is still raw in a lot of areas, but his page was updated yesterday and if he continues to put the effort in, he could push for a starting role this season.
R14 P109 - DT LeDavious "Dave" Davis/DatPolishGuy
TPE: 50
Well, he's big! 310lbs, and a good looking intial build, we'll see what happens this season for Davis.
R15 P114 - TE Stephon Trummer/Ubergestern
TPE: 69 (nice)
Though not as polished as Manclaw, Trummer could still help this squad out a lot in the red-zone with multiple TE sets. But if he doesn't gain anymore TPE that's fine. He has 69 TPE. (nice)
R15 P117 - RB Frankie Lantz/ogyungj
TPE:50
His speed is 80 right out of the gate, which is good. Good job, Lantz!
R16 P122 - DE Jeffery Jefferson/Camrawrn
TPE: 50
The Ducks pick up some depth along the Dline with Jefferson.
R16 P125 - TE Dart Ragusa/TheDart31
TPE: 50
More TE's, but not nearly as many as the Pythons took. Did y'all see that? Damn.
R17 P130 - DT Hunter Mantis/kookymantis
TPE: 50
Another big boy for depth along the line.
R17 P133 - LB Gib McGlib/Flesheatinmonkey
TPE: 50
The last and eighth Landshark to be taken, McGlib was a beast for the Landsharks. Unfortunately, we haven't seen much of him lately. Come back soon, McGlib!
R18 P138 - DE Vick Vinegar/HoneyandVinegar
TPE: 50
Love the name, so hopefully he works out for the Ducks. We're going to need to see a lot more commitment, however, if he wants to be a starter.
And there you have it! A breakdown of the Grey Ducks ducklings! This has been Wasrabi Gleel, sack ya later!
