Here's a run down of Swanty's top performances of the week on both sides of the ball in Week 2 of the DSFL. These are based on stat lines, game outcome, yards/points conceded for D players and my own questionable takes.
As most teams employ multiple bots at OL, there'll only be 2 OL spots
QB - Mike Boss Jr (TIJ) - Offensive Performance of the Week - The Boss led his Luchadores to a win with 299 yards, 2 TDs and 2 Ints this week
RB - Quanter Skrills (NOR) - The two pronged rushing attack of Norfolk was devastating this week, but Skrills gets the TotW nod with 152 all-purpose yards
RB - Zoe Watts (DBD) - Watts could only manage a 4.4 YPC this week, but delivered when it mattered, getting into the endzone twice to lead the Birddogs to a win
WR - Doug Howlett (TIJ) - 106 yards through the air as well as a TD, Howlett was the top receiver this week
WR - Friedrich Vequain (TIJ) - If we had DSFL fantasy, Howlett's teammate Vequain would have been the WR2 with 93 yards and a touch
TE - Ne Mo (MBB) - Despite his team's loss, Ne Mo was the QBs' favourite target this week with 5 catches for 82 yards
OL - Clay Stallworth (KCC) - Stallworth allowed his QB to put in a decent passing performance and recorded a massive 8 pancakes
OL - Ananda Adyan (NOR) - Norfolk absolutely dominated at the line and Adyan was one of the key reasons, opening up holes all over the place for his RBs to penetrate
DL - Honky-Tonk Haywood (POR) - Honky-Tonk had a strong day in Portland's win at London, sacking the QB and holding the Royals to under 100 rushing yards
DL - Mattress Cadaire (LON) - Cadaire was one of the few bright spots on the London roster this week, sacking the QB twice and recording another tackle for loss
DL - Chad "The Rig" Simpson (NOR) - The Grey Ducks leant heavily on the run but couldn't do much with it as the Norfolk line held fast. Simpson bagged a TFL and 5 other tackles.
LB - Rusty Rucker (NOR) - Rucker sacked the QB and bagged a tackle for loss as the Seawolves completely shut Minnesota down
LB - Adam Schell (TIJ, 2nd TotW) - Schell was one of the reasons the Bucs could only manage 4.1 yards on the ground, as he took the ball carrier down 12 times, twice for a loss
LB - Donald McBobby (POR) - McBobby demonstrated what linebackers are paid to do with 2 sacks, an interception and a deflected pass
CB - Peter Patterson (KCC) - Despite the loss, the Coyotes secondary had a good game, holding Caliban to just 160 yards. Patterson intercepted a pass and added 2 pass deflections.
CB - Byron Blackwell (DBD, 2nd) - Blackwell had one of the highlights of the week with a 71 yard pick six. He also added a pass deflection as he helped the Birddogs to a win
CB - Rich Triplet (TIJ) - Myrtle Bay couldn't really get things going in the air this week, and Triplet's deflected pass and interception were a big reason why
S - Davriel Lavigne (POR) - London went heavy on the pass this week but Lavigne helped hold them to just 5.1 YPA, as well as intercepting a pass and deflecting another
S - Quentin Button (NOR) - Defensive Performance of the Week - Minnesota's longest play this week was for just 16 yards. Button can be proud of the fact that literally nothing got past him.
K/P - Pseudo QB (POR) - Pseudo QB was perfect on the day, hitting 3 FGs from 30+ yards as well as both extra points
KR - Rickie Vaughne (NOR) - Vaughne's 69 yard punt return TD sealed the game for the Seawolves
Team of the week appearances (this week, total):
NOR (6, 10)
TIJ (5, 11)
POR (4, 4)
DBD (2, 3)
KCC (2, 3)
LON (1, 4)
MBB (1, 4)
MIN (0, 2)
