Welcome to the S25 ISFL Draft Breakdown for the Norfolk Seawolves! In total, 12 players were selected by eight different ISFL teams. Eight on defense and four on offense, with LB leading the way (3 picks).
2nd Round, 23rd overall - LB Rusty Rucker, HON
7th Round, 87th overall - S Brian Nelson, PHI
2nd Round, 23rd overall - LB Rusty Rucker, HON
- 6'2" 235 lbs
- Hometown - Toronto, ON
- College - Syracuse
- With their third selection, Honolulu stays on the defensive side and drafts Rusty Rucker. Last season, Rucker led the Seawolves in tackles (91) and sacks (7) and added on 4 tackles for loss and 5 PD. The Hahalua went heavy on defense this draft, using their first four picks on a pair of linebackers and safeties. Rucker is a prototypical do-everything middle linebacker and should complement the Hahalua's first pick, LB Guy Fields, who is excellent in coverage.
- 6'1" 210 lbs
- Hometown - Death Valley, CA
- College - Rutgers
- New York shored up their secondary in the second round by taking Quakstak. He was second in pass deflections for Norfolk last season, but that's mainly because quarterbacks would often avoid throwing near Quakstak at all costs. He also had a pair of picks and 47 tackles and definitely isn't afraid to help out in run support. He was the only CB drafted by the Silverbacks, showing how highly they think of his long term ability.
- 6'1" 210 lbs
- Hometown - Alabama
- College - California University of Pennsylvania
- The Champs made their secondary a major priority this year, as they took CB Rich Triplet with their second pick before drafting Jaxon-Waxon in the second round. Last season, XFJ-W was third on the team in tackles (75) and also added six sacks from his strong safety position. He'll patrol center field for the 'Cats, but will be relied on to help in every facet on the defensive side.
- 6'2" 230 lbs
- Hometown - New Orleans, Louisiana
- College - University of Louisiana at Lafayette
- Philadelphia picked the Ragin' Cajun' with their third overall selection this year. He was the only linebacker they drafted and is a straight-up monster in coverage. He did a little bit of everything for the Seawolves last season and finished with 78 tackles, two interceptions, two sacks, three pass deflections, and a touchdown. Look for him to do the same when he gets a shot with the Liberty.
- 6'5" 340 lbs
- Hometown - unknown
- College - Parahyangan Catholic University
- Berlin took their only OL in the draft with their selection of Adyan in the third round. The 6'5" 340 lbs behemoth tackle is a pass blocking savant and will certainly make life easier for the entire Fire Salamander offense. Last season, Adyan racked up 32 pancakes and, more importantly, did not allow a sack. Expect some frustrated defensive ends lining up against up across from this Parahyangan Catholic alum.
- 6'4" 281 lbs
- Hometown - Indianapolis, IN
- College - Purdue
- Philadelphia went back to Norfolk with their 4th round selection of Samuel Roes. Last season, Roes led Norfolk with 13 tackles for loss and had a pair of sacks. He was tasked with doing a little bit of everything for the Seawolves, from rushing the passer to anchoring the edge in the run game. Look for him to do the same as he heads east to Philly.
- 6'3" 222 lbs
- Hometown - Seattle, WA
- College - Washington
- Fank will make the cross country journey from Washington to New York as he becomes their fourth selection this year. Fank finished last season with 42 catches, 408 yards, and 4 TD, which were all good for second-most in Norfolk. Fank was the Silverbacks' first offensive selection and the second of two Seawolves they selected. Big bodied and fast, Fank has one of the higher ceiling among skill players.
7th Round, 87th overall - S Brian Nelson, PHI
- 6'1" 215 lbs
- Hometown - unknown
- College - Central Michigan University
- Yet another Seawolf picked by the Liberty, Nelson joins DeSoto and and Roes in the City of Brotherly Love. Nelson had 37 tackles and 1 PD for Norfolk last season. The playmaking safety was the only defensive back selected by the Liberty and they have high hopes for the former Chippewa.
- 5'9" 175 lbs
- Hometown - Los Angeles, CA
- College - UCLA
- With their penultimate pick, Yellowknife takes the speedy Alexander Johnson, who finished with 18 receptions, 203 yards, and 1 TD last season. If you're looking for highlight reel speed and agility, just turn on some of Johnson's highlights and you'll be blown away.
- 6'4" 285 lbs
- Hometown - unknown
- College - Kent State
- New Orleans picks their only Seawolf with their 7th round pick. In limited playing time last season, Grant notched 12 tackles and three tackles for loss, and one sack. His willingness to take on any role on the defensive line made him a locker room favorite in Norfolk and it was no surprise that The Second Line felt the same way.
- 6'4" 259 lbs
- Hometown - Savageville, VA
- College - Averett
- The Liberty just cannot get enough of the Seawolves. N'Chick becomes the fourth Norfolk player selected by Philly, and only who is on the offensive side of the ball. N'Chick had 11 catches for 49 yards in spot-duty, but the Liberty love his long term prospects for the ISFL.
- 6'3" 240 lbs
- Hometown - Tupelo, MS
- College - Alabama
- The final Norfolk player selected is Dean McBean, the name-rhyming 'backer from Mississippi. In one game for the Seawolves, he notched four tackles, but was one of the team's standout practice squad players the entire season. Just the second LB taken by Arizona, they see the same potential that Norfolk's staff saw this season.
