Cause 21 isn't even out yet. Also, there are so many benefits to 21 that would benefit the league as a whole. It's like taking away drugs from an addict, the addict won't like it, but it's for his own benefit. All the sim nerds will be upset that they can't do spend hours on futile testing, but it's for the better. Once I found out how luck based the league was I really lost interest, and what Slate was saying as to how "solved" all the strategies were, I didn't really care as much about my player, and I'm attributing his terrible performances to "sim luck".
pretty sure back in the day everyone in the DSFL who was active was basically a one and done so not making decisions that would help the ISFL in order to keep players staying in that league isn't the move
actually totally agree with the post, the randomness of the sim is super annoying and it definitely doesn't help that there's so many basically maxed out players on a pretty small number of teams. obviously adding another 2 teams won't fix everything but i definitely think it would help make it better (10-29-2020, 06:23 PM)retrospace111 Wrote:(10-29-2020, 11:32 AM)Raven Wrote:So I was curious about this too, I asked Bex a while back and she said "Thing number one at the moment is that you can't import players outside of starting a league. Did they fix the sim taking like hours? I never really liked sim testing myself, but I do like the mindgames in sim testing. Sure it's random and increasing your winrate 5% in ur own save file, wont translate to the actual file, cuz hey they also changed their strats, but I do believe giving our gms someway to interact and make sure strats are working is a good thing. I do agree that in this sim sometimes your player and their tpe just doesnt matter. 50 tpe IA kickers can have 100/100 seasons in the nsfl, rookie RBs can easily win RBotY, CBs at high tpe just lose out on stats for some reason. As far as I understand it there are a few issues with DDSPF21 that would need to be ironed out moreso than anything.
1) Sim testing as we know it won't exist Honestly, is this a bad thing? I enjoy testing just for dicking around, but let's be honest: you're not going to unlock some ungodly stat that lets you win 50-0 or brings your win rate up to 95%. People tend to get too lost in the weeds and freak out over sim testing, and I think some people take it too negatively when they submit a strategy they think looks strong and they get stomped. It's easy to blame the sim and say it's dumb (in a lot of ways it is), but that's also just how sports go sometimes. 2) We don't know what in the game is imbalanced yet This could be worked out over time, but I think the biggest goal is find the obviously broken things (there are some I've seen) and then from there just pay attention to what people are doing and see if anything gives an unfair advantage. Honestly, if stats look fine and we have some parity, let it roll. 3) Roster management is kind of effed up at the moment This is a big one that retro touched on. This could be the biggest hurdle to overcome for the league. |
