Welcome back to Part 3 of my complete wrap up of the Season 22 Draft Class.
Part 1 - Introduction, Round 1+2
Part 1 - Introduction, Round 1+2
Part 2 - Rounds 3, 4 and 5
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ROUND 6
Pick: 61
Picked By: Honolulu Hahalua
Player Name: Luke Skywalker
Position: Quarterback
Teams Played for:
- Norfolk Seawolves
- Honolulu Hahalua [Season 24 -> Season 26]
- Baltimore Hawks [Season 27 -> Season 29]
Max TPE: 917
Retired: Season 29, 6 Seasons Played
Awards:
- Season 21 DSFL Pro Bowl Quarterback
- Season 23 DSFL Champion, Norfolk Seawolves
- Season 21 Offensive Performance of the Season
Statistics:
- 34th All Time in Passing Yards
- 38th All Time in Passing Touchdowns
- 24th All Time in Interceptions
Luke Skywalker follows a similar pattern to other players in his draft class, he was dynamic in the developmental league but was never able to crack success in the big leagues. He picked up Pro Bowls, an award and a championship in the DSFL but was unable to secure any of these in the big leagues. The only relevance he has is Top 40 ranking in passing yards and touchdowns. A relative bust compared to the other quarterbacks in this draft class.
Pick: 62
Picked By: Sarasota Sailfish
Player Name: Eric Barlow | Ragnar Rok
Position: Safety
Teams Played for:
- Dallas Birddogs
- Sarasota Sailfish [Season 22]
Max TPE: 380
Retired: Season 22, 1 Season Played
Awards:
- Season 22 ISFL Pro Bowl Safety
Statistics:
- N/A
Eric Barlow changed his name to Ragnar Rok when he came into the big leagues in Season 22. His rookie year was great, culminating in a Pro Bowl, the first in the history of the Sarasota Sailfish as they were in there debut season. Rok suddenly decided to retire, and was not seen in the league again.
Pick: 63
Picked By: Philadelphia Liberty
Player Name: Spike Suzuki
Position: Linebacker
Teams Played for:
- Norfolk Seawolves
- Philadelphia Liberty [Season 22 -> Season 25]
- Baltimore Hawks [Season 26 -> Season 27]
- Yellowknife Wraiths [Season 28 -> Season 29]
Max TPE: 465
Retired: Season 29, 8 Seasons Played
Awards:
- Season 23 ISFL Pro Bowl Defensive End
- Season 28 ISFL Champion, Yellowknife Wraiths
- Season 23 ISFL Defensive Breakout Player of the Year
Statistics:
- Most Tackle for Loss in a season: 24
Spike Suzuki played in the ISFL for 8 seasons, but is primarily remembered for one, Season 23. In this season, Suzuki picked up his only Pro Bowl and his only award, defensive breakout player of the year. He also racked up 24 tackles for loss in Season 23, the most in a single season. However this wasn’t good enough for Defensive End of the Year which was won by one of the greatest defensive ends of all time, Immanuel Blackstone. In other disappointing news, this was the only positive season for Suzuki as the 24 tackles for loss was well over half his career total. He did pick up a championship in Season 28 with the Yellowknife Wraiths but overall it was a below average career outside of one spectacular season.
Pick: 64
Picked By: Arizona Outlaws
Player Name: Slinky Claxton
Position: Defensive End
Teams Played for:
- Portland Pythons
- Austin Copperheads [Season 23 -> Season 30]
Max TPE: 796
Retired: Season 30, 8 Seasons Played
Awards:
- N/A
Statistics:
- N/A
Slinky Claxton was drafted by the Arizona Outlaws, except that he never played for them. He played 8 seasons on the defensive line for the Austin Copperheads instead racking up 49 sacks over his career. He didn’t get any awards, accolades, rings or earn any statistics of relevance. A pretty meh career overall.
Pick: 65
Picked By: San Jose Sabercats
Player Name: George Fisher
Position: Linebacker
Teams Played for:
- Tijuana Luchadores, Season 21
- San Jose Sabercats [Season 22 -> Season 31]
Max TPE: 995
Retired: Season 31, 10 Seasons Played
Awards:
- Season 23 ISFL Pro Bowl Linebacker
- Season 24 ISFL Champion, San Jose Sabercats
- Season 25 ISFL Champion, San Jose Sabercats
Statistics:
- N/A
George Fisher was also known as “Corpse Grinder” and was a centrepiece of the San Jose defence for a decade. His career wasn’t full of individual accolade but he was able to pick up a single Pro Bowl appearance in his sophomore season. He didn’t get any other accolades or awards, nor did he have any significant stats to note. One of the biggest part of his career was being a big part of the defence that won back to back championships for San Jose in Season 24 or Season 25. Fisher might have wanted more in his career but his career is not something to dispose.
Pick: 66
Picked By: Chicago Butchers
Player Name: Julio Tirtawidjaja
Position: Running Back
Teams Played for:
- Tijuana Luchadores
- Chiacgo Butchers [Season 22 -> Season 27]
Max TPE: 706
Retired: Season 27, 6 Seasons Played
Awards:
- N/A
Statistics:
- 42nd most rushing yards of all time, 4877
Julio Tirtawidjaja was a great guy who didn’t really accomplish much in his 6 seasons in the league. He never received a Pro Bowl, Award or Championship but was consistent in running the ball. This resulted in him finishing just outside the top 40 in rushing yards all time with a total just under 5k. There was more talent on the board at this point but the career Julio had was not the worst for his draft position.
Pick: 67
Picked By: Baltimore Hawks
Player Name: Nuniq Annastesia
Position: Defensive Tackle
Teams Played for:
- Kansas City Coyotes
- Baltimore Hawks [Season 22 -> Season 28]
- Philadelphia Liberty [Season 29]
Max TPE: 547
Retired: Season 29, 8 Seasons Played
Awards:
- N/A
Statistics:
- N/A
Nuniq Annastesia was a forgotten player on the Baltimore Defence for over half a decade. He was a ghost that didn’t record a single award, accolade or championship. He also didn’t get anything of statistical relevance. After 7 seasons in Baltimore, Annastesia moved to Philadelphia for a season but was left off any roster in Season 30 and did not return.
Pick: 68
Picked By: Sarasota Sailfish
Player Name: Joey McCabe
Position: Offensive Lineman
Teams Played for:
- Portland Pythons
- Sarasota Sailfish [Season 23 -> Season 24]
- Berlin Fire Salamanders [Season 25]
Max TPE: 231
Retired: Season 25, 3 Seasons Played
Awards:
- Season 21 DSFL Pro Bowl Offensive Lineman
- Season 22 DSFL Pro Bowl Offensive Lineman
Statistics:
- N/A
Joey McCabe fulfills a similar path to many other mentioned previously. He was a great player in the developmental league, being a dual Pro bowler. However this was never seen in the big leagues, with McCabe only playing for 3 seasons and allowing 13 sacks over that time period. He was part of the inagraual Berlin Fire Salamanders squad but that was his final season in the league, McCabe’s career was pretty dismal.
Pick: 69
Picked By: Baltimore Hawks
Player Name: Dex Kennedy
Position: Linebacker
Teams Played for:
- Minnesota Grey Ducks
- Baltimore Hawks [Season 23 -> Season 26]
- Austin Copperheads [Season 27 -> Season 29]
Max TPE: 1309
Retired: Season 29, 7 Seasons Played
Awards:
- Season 22 DSFL Pro Bowl linebacker
- Season 28 ISFL Pro Bowl Linebacker
- Season 28 ISFL Linebacker of the Year
- Season 28 ISFL Defensive Performance of the Year
- Season 28 ISFL Defensive Breakout Player of the Year
- Season 28 ISFL Defensive Player of the Year
Statistics:
- Most Tackles in a Season: 158
- 4th Most Tackles in a Season: 153
- 49th Most Tackles in a Season: 130
- 45th most Forced Fumbles of All Time: 14
Dex Kennedy has probably the greatest outlier season of anyone in this draft class. His Season 28 season was legendary. He picked up his sole Pro Bowl appearance and FOUR awards. He was linebacker of the year, defensive breakout player of the year, defensive performance of the year and defensive player of the year. This was the result of him scoring FOUR defensive touchdowns in Season 28. Other seasons saw Kennedy end up in top 5 for most tackles twice. A good career for Kennedy with one of the best linebacker seasons of all time intertwined.
Pick: 70
Picked By: Orange County Otters
Player Name: Garfield Despacito Jr
Position: Wide Receiver
Teams Played for:
- Myrtle Beach Buccaneers
- Orange County Otters [Season 24 -> Season 31]
Max TPE: 1088
Retired: Season 31, 8 Seasons Played
Awards:
- Season 22 DSFL Pro Bowl Wide Receiver
- Season 21 DSFL Champion, Myrtle Beach Buccaneers
- Season 26 ISFL Pro Bowl Offensive Flex
- Season 28 ISFL Pro Bowl Wide Receiver
Statistics:
- 13th most receptions in a season, 121
- 39th most touchdowns of all time, 57
- 47th most receiving yards of all time, 8297
Garfield Despacito Jr was an often forgotten wide receiver at the time of behemoths in the position. With names like Sakura, Lin and Kingston it was hard for Despacito and other wide receivers to break through for accolades. Despacito Jr was only able to do this twice, in Season 26 as an offensive flex and Season 28 as a wide receiver. He did have some statistical relevance with a top 15 reception season and top 50 in career receiving touchdowns and receiving yards all time. A great career considering what was picked before him.
Pick: 71
Picked By: Yellowknife Wraiths
Player Name: Susan Cash Jr
Position: Wide Receiver
Teams Played for:
- London Royals
- Yellowknife Wraiths [Season 24]
- Berlin Fire Salamanders [Season 25 -> Season 28]
Max TPE: 687
Retired: Season 28, 5 Seasons Played
Awards:
- Season 21 DSFL Pro Bowl Wide Receiver
- Season 23 DSFL Pro Bowl Wide Receiver
Statistics:
- N/A
Susan Cash Jr was another player who was great in developmental but couldn’t see that performance in the big leagues. He did not get any pro bowls, awards or championships in the league and was out of the league after just 5 seasons. Cash Jr left no mark on the league throughout his adequate career.
Pick: 72
Picked By: New Orleans Second Line
Player Name: Hank Steel
Position: Defensive Tackle
Teams Played for:
- Portland Pythons
- New Orleans Second Line [Season 23 -> Season 24]
- Berlin Fire Salamanders [Season 25 -> Season 31]
Max TPE: 962
Retired: Season 31, 9 Seasons Played
Awards:
- Season 27 ISFL Pro Bowl Defensive Tackle
- Season 29 ISFL Pro Bowl Defensive Tackle
Statistics:
- N/A
Hank Steel was a productive player on the interior defensive line for almost a decade, especially for a player picked in the 70’s. He picked up 2 Pro Bowls and was a player who was a part of the first ever Berlin Fire Salamanders squads. He might not have been statistically relevant or won any awards and championships but was still a great player.
ROUND 7
Pick: 73
Picked By: Honolulu Hahalua
Player Name: Bayden Brosley

- Season 22 DSFL Pro Bowl Special Teamer
- Season 22 DSFL Pro Bowl Cornerback
- Season 22 DSFL Pro Bowl Special Teamer
Statistics:
- N/A
Bayden Brosley was the 3rd player in the Season 22 ISFL Draft class to never make the big leagues. He did make 2 pro bowls in the developmental league however but a real disappointment.
Pick: 74
Picked By: San Jose Sabercats
Player Name: Jamar Lackson
Position: Running Back
Teams Played for:
- Minnesota Grey Ducks
- San Jose Sabercats [Season 23 -> Season 33]

Statistics:
- 5th most rushing yards of all time: 11716
- 7th most rushing touchdowns of all time: 96
- 25th most all-purpose yards of all time: 16441
- 4th most all-purpose touchdowns of all time: 133
- 2nd most scrimmage yards of all time: 16412
Jamar Lackson will go down as one of the steals in this draft class. Taken at Pick 74 by San Jose, Lackson had an incredible career. The main accolades were 7 Pro Bowl appearances in his 11 seasons while also picking up 2 championships with San Jose in their back to back championships in Season 24 and Season 25. While Lackson never picked up the awards, he racked up consistent stats over time. This resulted in Jamar being 2nd in scrimmage yards, 5th in rushing yards, 7th in rushing touchdowns and 4th in all purpose touchdowns. One of the greatest running backs by the numbers was Jamar Lackson who had a hell of a career and ended up in the ISFL Hall of Fame as a member of the Season 37 Hall of Fame Class.
Pick: 75
Picked By: Philadelphia Liberty
Player Name: Mario Von Pebbles
Position: Defensive End
Teams Played for:
- Minnesota Grey Ducks
- Chicago Butchers [Season 23 -> Season 24]
- Berlin Fire Salamanders [Season 25 -> Season 30]
Max TPE: 1330

Awards:

Statistics:
- 9th most tackles for loss in a season: 19
- 24TH most tackles for loss in a season: 17
- 12th most tackles for loss all time: 77
Mario Von Pebbles, affectionately known as MVP never lived up to his nickname. He was a good player but not the MVP of the league nor the MVP of his position. He only picked up 1 Pro Bowl throughout his career but was a part of the debut Berlin Fire Salamanders season. He didn’t pick up any awards or championships but did have a great record with tackles for loss. MVP had the 9th and 24th most tackles for loss in a season and the 12th most tackles for loss all time. While he didn’t live up to his nickname, MVP racked up plenty of big plays behind the line of scrimmage
Pick: 76
Picked By: Colorado Yeti
Player Name: Richard Gilbert
Position: Running Back
Teams Played for:
- Tijuana Luchadores
- 9th most tackles for loss in a season: 19

- 14th most rushing touchdowns of all time: 72
- 20th most scrimmage touchdowns of all time: 93
- 22nd most all-purpose touchdowns of all time: 93
Richard Gilbert was a hell of a running back for the Colorado Yeti but his career could still be almost looked as a what if. The majority of his tenure was during the famed ‘Colorado Yeeti’ era where they threw the football far and often, leaving the run game to suffer. Despite this, Gilbert was able to pick up 2 Pro Bowl appearances and end up highly ranked in statistical categories. 27th in rushing yards, 14th in rushing touchdowns, and top 25 in scrimmage/all-purpose touchdowns. Gilbert’s career was great but looking at the context just a little book does make you question, what if?

Lanier had a career in the big leagues for almost a decade, while he was never able to pick up any any accolades, awards or statistics aside from a Pro Bowl nod in the developmental league. Lanier however was able to pick up 4 Championships, 1 for Myrtle Beach in the Developmental league and 3 in the ISFL, 2 for San Jose and 1 for Sarasota. He might not have had personal success but he finished his career with one of his hands full of rings.

Hamish McAndrew is another safety who played for a decade in the league. He started off with the Chicago butchers as they tried to re-shape the franchise, McAndrew then spent a couple of seasons in Austin before finishing his career back in Chicago before retiring after spending a decade in the league. Throughout his decade in the league, McAndrew picked up a pair of Pro Bowl nods at safety as well as finishing in the top 40 for career interceptions and top 50 for forced fumbles. A decent career after all.

Leeroy Jenkins is another player who had 2 different peaks, the beginning and the end. His first peak was in the developmental league where he picked up 3 Pro Bowl nods and a Championship with the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers. The middle of his career was slightly down as he played Wide Receiver for the Colorado Yeti but was stuck behind a behemoth in William Lin throughout his career. At the end he became an offensive lineman and registered a top 30 pancake season. An interesting career with highs and lows was Leeroy Jenkins.

Donatello Arribiata was a little blip on the radar of the ISFL, he picked up a Pro Bowl in the developmental league but didn’t do much else. - 24th most tackles for loss in a season: 17
- 24th most tackles for loss in a season: 17
- 41st most tackles for loss of all time: 54
Simeon Works has an interesting career. He only played for 3 seasons and retired early. However there is one major thing Simeon Works was able to do, takle the ball carrier behind the line of scrimmage for a tackle for loss. Works averaged over 1 tackle for loss per game in every season, leading to 3 Top 25 TFL seasons in league history, including a 6th place TFL season. This resulted in Works finished his short 3 season career 41st for the most tackles for loss ever. An incredible short career and a massive ‘what if’. What if he kept playing longer, would he have ended up really high up on the tackle for loss chart? We’ll never know.

Ramza was originally drafted by Philadelphia but with their Quarterback situation locked down, Ramza left in Free Agency to become the new quarterback of the Orange County Otters. Prior to this, Ramza lit up the Developmental league to the tune of 2 Pro Bowls, a DSFL Championship, a Quarterback of the Year and a DSFL MVP. Becoming the new quarterback in Orange County was a tremendous task as he had to take the reigns from Franklin Armstrong, one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever do it. He performed admirably in his career but of course couldn’t live up to the efforts of Armstrong. Ramza was a 3 time Pro Bowler in the ISFL but never got an award or championship. Statistically however, Ramza was pretty decent: he had a top 30 passing yards season, a top 50 passing touchdowns seasons and also finished top 10 in career passing yards, passing touchdowns and interceptions. A really good career for Ramza but he would probably think he could’ve done more.

When some members of his draft class were in their 8th year, Muhammed was a rookie safety. He only lasted that single season so the veteran rookie season was his only one. Reechs was a 5 time Pro Bowlers and also picked up 2 Tight End of the Year Awards during his 8 seasons in the iSFL. He spent this entire tenure with the Yellowknife Wraiths for which Reechs also won 2 championships with. Statistically, Reechs just sneaked into the Top 50 for most receptions of all time showing how dependable he was as a target. An amazing career.

Sean Snyder had a delayed entrance into the league, not making his debut for the New Orleans Second Line until Season 24. However this time was short lived as Snyder was taken in the expansion draft by the new New York Silverbacks team. Snyder then spent the next 8 seasons in New York being apart of 2 championship teams. However, Snyder did not receiver any awards, accolades or anything of statistical relevance throughout his career. It was a pretty decent career for his draft position.

Waters had a few question marks as he went into the draft which is why he slid down to pick 109. However these question marks were never answered as Waters was a good player in his 8 seasons in the league. Waters was a 2 time Pro Bowl player as well as the winner of a defensive performance of the year award. Waters never got a ring or something of statistical note but it was a hell of a career after all.

Well then, this is certainly a list and a half isn’t it. Jacob Small might have the most expansive list of Awards and Statistics of anyone in the entire draft class, so lets run through it all. Prior to entering the league with Sarasota, Small played with the Tijuana Luchadores, being a 3 time Pro Bowler and DSFL Champion in his 2 seasons with the team. After this, Small joined the Sailfish where he spent over a decade booting balls and winning games for the men from Sarasota. With Sarasota, Small was a 5 time Pro Bowler, 3 time Award Winner and 2 time champion, a remarkable resume and that’s before we even consider his stats. Small has 4 of the Top 10 Field Goals Made in a Season stats with 2 more in the Top 35, he also has 5 Top 40 Extra Points Made Seasons. On the punting side, Small holds the record for most punts inside the 20 in a single season as well as having another season in the top 50. Similarly Small has a top 50 punting yards season to go with these too. On the career numbers front, Small has the Most Punts inside the 20 of all time and the 6th most Punting Yards of all time. For Kicking, Small has the 2nd most Field Goal made ever and the most extra points made ever. It’s a really remarkable list and might make Small one of the greatest players in this entire draft class and he was taken at pick 110. This is evident because Jacob Small made the ISFL Hall of Fame in Season 37.

Clark Boyd toiled away on the line of scrimmage for a decade, whether it be on the offensive line or next to it at tight end. He picked up a Pro Bowl appearance in his final season in Sarasota before he was selected in the expansion draft and joining the new Berlin Fire Salamanders. Boyd probably deserved more in his career but we can only look at what was achieved. One achievement he does have though, is that he is the lowest drafted player to spend a decade in the league.

Tyron Shields holds a special honour, he is the lowest drafted Pro Bowler in the Season 22 Draft Class. He achieved this in his rookie season in Season 23 with the Chicago Butchers. Shields didn’t achieve any other awards or accolades but did have a top 15 tackle season when he racked up 139 tackles. 7 Seasons played in the league at pick 126 is ridiculous and something for Tyron Shields to be celebrated for.
