I didn't see this thread at the time but I'll reply now seeing as people are still replying.
My previous player was recently inducted into the Hall of Fame. For the first c. 11 seasons of his career he led all cornerbacks since he was drafted in INTs and defensive TDs, two of the three stats CBs tend to accumulate. He had a season where he led the league in forced turnovers and defensive touchdowns as well as a season where he led the league in yards per return and broke the record for the longest punt return touchdown (still holds it). So he was consistently very good, and had individually outstanding seasons. He was nominated for five awards but never won one, coming 2nd multiple times.
I was worried that he might miss out on making the Hall of Fame as a result of a few HO/GM votes, when as referenced by others in the thread there are multiple instances of HO or GMs voting for a player on their team to win every single award - some resigned as a result, others seemed to do it as a protest because they didn't like voting. While I always took my voting requirements very seriously when I was a GM and tried to help ensure that the deserved winner won the award, I'm sure other non-biased, non-protesting GMs threw a quick ballot together.
If the All-Pro teams had existed during my previous player's peak then Booker and the other top CBs would've just made All-Pro together and the only argument would've been whether to recognise them as first or second team. I think we would've seen honours distributed in a fairer way and with less drama, where the top players at each position were consistently recognised rather than a winner-takes-all approach when players had very similarly impressive seasons.
