GameDay Talks Interview With Draft Prospect Bobby Steel! (2x First Gen Bonus)
Thanks everyone for tuning into this pre draft scouting interview. Today we have a user who is a player to make a lot of noise in the coming seasons! It is none other than Bobby Steel! Steel is a defensive back out of Clemson, who is currently in the DSFL. He was once a top corner at the college level and now looking to make a name for himself in the ISFL.
GameDay Talks Reporter -
Bobby - How would you review your performance so far in the DSFL this past season since you joined the Dallas Bird Dogs?
Bobby Steel -
First of all I want to thank you for this interview and the Bird Dogs getting me in the DSFL. Dallas has been fun. They've helped me develop at corner and grow off the field. They made me a big part of the secondary this season and i think it showed in my stats. I didn't get targeted much out there but when I did it wasn't good for the offense.
GameDay Talks Reporter -
That is awesome to hear! Dallas has a great group of people leading the team and its looking like they got a steal by getting you. My player happens to play for the Bondi Beach Bucs and as the DSFL interception king, I can definitely say I had to pay close attention to you out there on the field this year.
ISFL Scouting season is upon us officially now as the season is winding down. And with that, I wanted to really focus on you as a prospect and give General Managers some insight into you both as a person and a player. So to start from that perspective: What would you say to GMs who are looking for some help on defense in the draft?
Bobby Steel -
I got the heart to be the best DB in the ISFl. I might not have the TPE or the ratings to be that right away. That's okay though because it's a marathon not a sprint. I'll be working hard while others are sleeping to gain more TPE and to improve myself. I know the areas i need to get better in. Like for starters i gotta get faster so I don't get burnt on the deep ball but we gonna get there.
GameDay Talks Reporter -
I definitely have faith that you will get there! Speed is king in the ISFL and DSFL so anxious to see you get that built up. have you had very many teams reach out for scouting yet? How have the conversations gone if so?
Bobby Steel -
I've been scouted by a decent amount of teams actually. All have gone really well. Most of the teams keep saying i'm under the radar right now which is a good thing because it will allow the best team for my situation to pick me up. The team that really wants me and wants to use me as a DB is who i want to draft me. So far the scouting process has been great.
GameDay Talks Reporter -
You may have been flying under the radar, but that is going to end about as soon as this interview hits the ISFL media i bet! But that is great to hear. One thing people might not know about you, is that you know your way around sim leagues pretty well. Is it true you also are a team GM in a different league?
Bobby Steel -
It is true. I am the GM of the Frankfurt Lions in the Casual World Sim Football League. Being a GM in another sim league is gonna help me out a ton since I know how they work. I'm not going to be coming into a new team looking to take it over or act like i know it all either. I know my role and i'll do that the best that i can. Whatever it may be because as a GM I know that if everyone does their job and keeps the main thing the main thing then we can win.
GameDay Talks Reporter -
That experience could be huge here in the ISFL! Teams are always looking for not only great locker room people and especially those who can provide some good feedback!
Bobby Steel -
Like I said i'm looking to help out in anyway I can. The goal is to win and i'm here to help whatever team i'm on do that!
GameDay Talks Reporter -
Taking the convo into a whole new direction here. In my Norfolk GM days we went through a saga at one point. Big debate on this and as random as it is, I have to know your thoughts. IS a hot dog a sandwich?
Bobby Steel -
No it's not a sandwich. It's just a hotdog
GameDay Talks Reporter -
Oh man I have to disagree with you there! I will have to send you a diagram that someone made during this intense debate it is pretty funny. Anyway, back to football! As I start to wind down here with my own questions, Is there any final thing that you would like to make sure folks know about you? Could be a message to GMs or it could be a warning to opposing offenses? What ever you want!
Bobby Steel -
I'll leave the readers with this. If you pass on me then i'll make sure you can't pass on me.
GameDay Talks Reporter -
You heard it here folks! That is one confident man thats on a mission to make a huge impact in the league!
Bobby Steel -
Just trying to make a name for myself in a talented league!
Bobby Steel is currently projected to be around a 2nd round pick but he’s looking to put in the work before the combine to increase his draft stock. He is working with former HOF corner Deion Sanders to learn the ins and outs of being a pro. Deion told GameDay Talks "Bobby is one of the best talents I've seen at the defensive back spot. He's already got the athletic ability so we just have to keep working on the fundamentals. I think he has the most potential in this draft class". Coach Prime is very high on the defensive back. As Steel has to get back to his workout with Coach Prime, we hear he has more interviews schedule for later today so we couldn’t keep him much longer but we are curious to see where he goes in the draft.
