Following up on our report from last week, Booter McGavin is no longer deemed to be missing. McGavin was located when he made a stop in Pullman Washington to visit the campus of Washington State University. Booter was seen at a local restaurant with head coach of the Cougars Gardner Minshew. The two started a relationship once Booter left college and chose to travel the country in an old van ahead of the DSFL draft. The relationship formed over social media where Minshew recalled spending an offseason in a van to prepare for the upcoming NFL season. Minshew called Booter a "smart man who knows what he needs to succeed in life" when he heard of Booter's plans to travel across the country. Booter's final stop on that trip was indeed in Pullman to get a photo opportunity with the legendary player and now 4 time Pac-12 champion coach. The two hit it off and were filmed at several local bars over a week long period as the group celebrated the Cougars latest Rose Bowl victory.
Following the restaurant sighting, media attempted to contact Booter for a quote on where he had been the past week and his feelings on the end of the season. Booter responded with "I have some business to take care of and will be going off the grid for awhile so don't try to contact me." When pressed for more details, Booter ignored reporters and walked into the Washington State athletic facility. The strange encounter lead many to contact Booter's current agent, who only had the comment that he had been fired by Booter two days ago. Similarly, Booter has informed all sponsors he will not be upholding any contractual obligations that were promised for this offseason.
Booter has not been seen since entering the facility and appears to have taken Coach Minshew with him. A note was left in the Cougar locker room stating "Signing day has passed, Booter and I are out to focus on next season. I will be back by spring practice time - Coach Minshew". Strange behavior is typical of Coach Minshew, but this is the first time he has involved another party in his antics. A camera did catch McGavin's car heading towards the Idaho border suggesting the two are headed to the mountains to spend some time together. Whatever the case may be it does appear for the time being McGavin is safe and physically healthy, easing some worries for local San Jose fans. However, questions remain if he will be able to be of sound mind when he and his new accomplice return from their trip.
