Well my dream has come true. I have been selected to play in the ISFL. The Cape Town crash saw fit to not only select me, but trade up for the opportunity to do so. I was taken with the first pick in the second round as part of several defensive picks by Cape Town's leaders. There are two key points I would like to address.
The first is that I will be changing positions. While I've been a Corner Back my whole career, the Crash have asked me to switch to Safety to help lock things down on the back end. This wasn't a surprising request, nor is it an unfamiliar one. In my first DSFL season with the Norfolk Seawolves I was asked to take the majority of my snaps at safety, so my new position is one I am familiar with and comfortable with. This should allow me to hit the ground running and find quick success. While my dream of being the man-to-man corner that would shadow a number one receiver all game may not come true, I will still be able to terrorize opposing quarterbacks and lay the boom on unsuspecting ballcarriers, and now I'll have a better running start!
The second announcement is that I will be returning to the Norfolk Seawolves for Season 45. Cape Town, while excited to have me, believe it is best I take another year to develop my skills in the DSFL. This is good news for me as I love Norfolk and all the lovely folks on the team. I am excited for this year as I was really hitting my stride at the end of the last one, and now I should be even more dangerous. With the significant investment that Norfolk put into me with the third pick, I feel obligated to do everything I can to help them get a ring. This year will give me another chance to do so.
Thank you all for your continued support!
