[div align=\\\"center\\\"]We are nearly at the climax of the inaugural DSFL season with a total of 24 players reaching the DSFL waiver wire. A mix of veterans and rookie makes up this years list. At this point in the season, all 6 DSFL teams have made atleast a single claim and now without further ado let's get into the second part of this years series.
Haruki Ishigawa - Linebacker (Chicago Blues) S4 PROSPECT
Ishigawa has had a decent season so far appearing in 6 games with 34 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 1 fumble recovery, 1 sack, 1 pass deflection and 1 interception. A decent showing for a many many claimed would fizzle out this year in terms of development. By no means anywhere near a starter this early in his career, Ishigawa could well end up back in the DSFL after the S4 NSFL Draft later this year should his progression fail to improve
Fresh Booter - Wide Receiver (Chicago Blues) S5 PROSPECT
Many were wondering if the Blues would make another waiver pickup this year considering their lackadaisical method so far, they have. Fresh Booter out of Colorado State shocked collegiate scouts when he declared for the NSFL, forgoing his final two years at college. A S5 prospect, one of the first in the class Booter is likely to be a lock for the first round should he develop like he predict. No games played this year so far but it's likely Booter will play the last 2 remaining games in the DSFL.
Mac Donald - Defensive End (Kansas City Coyotes) S2 VETERAN
Donald has had a relatively poor season thus far in the DSFL. All 12 games played with a total of 25 tackles, 4 tackles for loss , 2 forced fumbles , 1 fumble recovery with 3 sacks.
Not exactly the stats you wanna see from your starting defensive end with close to 2 years of experience, Mac Donald will remain in the DSFL for the rest of his career.
Sal Ifedemi - Defensive End (Kansas City Coyotes) S3 VETERAN
On the other side of the Kansas City Coyotes defensive line is Sal Ifedemi. Boasting an impressive 38 tackles, 15 tackles for loss (1st in DSFL) , 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery and 4 sacks. An impressive showing from the man many would not have crated heading into the inaugural DSFL season. Ifedemi could be a consistent record setter in the DSFL with it looking unlikely for him to ever be called up to the NSFL.
Brian Wheat - Wide Receiver (Kansas City Coyotes) S3 VETERAN
So far this year Wheat has racked up 401 yards (11th in DSFL) and 1 touchdown from 26 catches through 6 games. Wheat has light up the DSFL in his limited time there. Not necessarily a red zone threat, Wheat has however racked up big yards and been a reliable threat for the Coyotes. Wheat was hailed as being a possible NSFL starter but his development stalled and as a result fell to the DSFL.
Ryan Jensen - Running Back (Norfolk SeaWolves) S1 VETERAN
Jensen has had limited playing time for the SeaWolves this year, rushing for a meager 39 yards from 10 attempts over a 12 game span whilst receiving 30 yards from 3 catches with no touchdowns to show for it. Jensen looks to be a perennial starter in the DSFL for years to come and could likely set some records in the minors.
Trey Lonzac - Cornerback (Norfolk SeaWolves) S4 PROSPECT
Lonzac was recently claimed by the Norfolk SeaWolves and so far has starred in 2 games. Lonzac has accrued a total of 7 tackles and goose eggs in every other category. Not quite the impact you'd expect from somebody who may shortly hit the NSFL in this years upcoming draft. Regardless, we've seen so little from Lonzac in this shot period of time that it's not really fair to gauge him on his performances in the DSFL.
Angel Leon - Tight End (Norfolk SeaWolves) S4 PROSPECT
Leon has played in 8 games this year for the SeaWolves, posting 281 yards and 1 touchdown from 44 catches. Solid stats from the big tight end averaging more than 6 yards a catch. Former hurricane alumni Leon has performed well so far in the DSFL and it's likely he will continue this form through the last two games of the season. Leon has also gotten 7 pancakes while allowing a single sack throughout this year.
Shawn Ariel - Running Back (Norfolk SeaWolves) S4 PROSPECT
Ariel has played in 8 games this season, rushing for 779 yards and 5 touchdowns from 171 attempts. Ariel has been a standout this year not only just for Norfolk but for the DSFL in general. Rushing for the 4th most yards in the DSFL in his rookie year is impressive and Ariel looks to be a strong prospect as we approach the S3 draft. Texas born Ariel has also caught 10 receptions for 72 yards, to bolster his NSFL CV.
Josh Davidson - Tight End (Norfolk SeaWolves) S1 VETERAN
Davidson has caught 4 passes for 28 yards this year while obtaining 3 pancakes from his blocking duties. There's not much to say about Davidson and it's likely to stay that way,
he's just not ready for the NSFL and he pretty much never will be. A max of poor work ethic and a lack of discipline plagues his development.
James Warner - Linebacker (San Antonio Marshals) S3 VETERAN
Experienced Warner has had an impressive season thus far in the DSFL, 71 tackles, 2 tackles for loss and 4 sacks headline an impressive season for the linebacker. Warner has had a great season for the Marshals this year and is only second to Acolyte in terms of tackles for the Marshals. Warner will get valuable time in the DSFL and only time will tell if he will progress or continue to plateau.
William Sean - Wide Receiver (San Antonio Marshals) S4 PROSPECT
Sean has had an impressive rookie season in the DSFL, racking up 371 yards and 1 touchdown from 28 receptions. The 12th most yards in the league, and 1st in terms of the Marshals. Sean looks to be one of the brightest prospects in the upcoming S4 draft and dependent on how he develops for the remainder of the DSFL season, we could see Sean making an appearance in the first round later this year.
Jameis Christ - Quarterback (San Antonio Marshals) S1 VETERAN
Christ has started in 4 games this season for the Marshals, posting 654 yards , 60/115 for 1 touchdown and 1 interception. Much of his poor stats can be racked down to the poor offensive lines and receivers in the DSFL. Not too much stock can be taken of his performances down here but even so it doesn't look like Christ will be making a return to the NSFL any time soon, then again crazier things have happened in this league.
Tommy Brown - Wide Receiver (San Antonio Marshals) S4 PROSPECT
Brown was claimed late in the year by San Antonio and has played in 2 games so far. 7 catches for 87 yards reads his stat line. It's hard to extrapolate data from this small sample size of snaps however scouts have been criticizing Browns lack of ability on the field and his willingness to study game fill off of it.
Jughead Jones - Offensive Lineman (San Antonio Marshals) S3 VETERAN
Jones has had a good season this year for the Marshals, racking up 24 pancakes while only allowing 3 sacks from the opening 12 games of the season. Impressive stats from a man who many would not have predicted would be playing in the DSFL this year.
Barrick Acolyte - Linebacker (San Antonio Marshals) S1 VETERAN
Acolyte has had a stellar first season in the DSFL, 85 tackles (tied 5th) , 6 tackles for loss, 2 forced fumbles, 10 sacks, 1 interception and 6 pass deflections from a player who was relatively unknown to everybody but die hard NSFL fans. Despite this standout season in the depths of the developmental league, performances must be taken with a grain of salt as the DSFL is made out of a) unproven rookies just out of college football, b: below average NSFL backups and c) NSFL veterans hoping to ride out the last few years of their professional contracts.
Sean Strong - Wide Receiver (San Antonio Marshals) S1 VETERAN
S1 NSFL outcast Sean Strong has had a decent season for the Marshals claiming 209 yards from 12 catches from the opening 12 games. Strong has averaged a single catch a game but has also averaged well over 17 yards per catch and more often than not is the spark plug in the Marshals offense. While not necessarily the man you'd look for on third down to move the chains, he's more of a 2nd and short guy so you Favre it down field and hope he can make a play.
Memphis Bloomfield - Defensive Tackle (Tijuana Luchadores) S1 VETERAN
Bloomfield has had a decent opening DSFL season putting up 17 tackles , 7 tackles for loss (tied 6th) and 2 sacks in 12 games this season. The starting defensive tackle for the Luchadores, Bloomfield is largely just filling a starting spot until a better player hits the league.
Joey Langdon - Kicker/Punter (Tijuana Luchadores) S2 VETERAN
Joey Langdon has not played a single snap all year and a result has no stats to discuss or analyse.
Brent Lane - Kicker/Punter (Tijuana Luchadores) S4 PROSPECT
S4 NSFL prospect Brent Lane has performed exceptionally well this year for the Luchadores, 17/18 from extra points with just the one miss and 17/19 from field goals attempted including 5/6 from 40-49 yards including a longest of a 46 yarder. On top of his kicking stats Lane is also the punter for the mexican minors team racking up an impressive 4323 yards from 96 punts which included a monster 64 yard punt. Averaging 45 yards a punt is impressive whether or not you're in the DSFL or NSFL. In a relatively weak S4 draft class, Lane could be the second ever special teamer to be taken in the first round of a NSFL draft behind S3 bust Iyah Blewitt.
Den Bavis - Linebacker (Tijuana Luchadores) S4 PROSPECT
Bavis has had an impressive season for the high flying Luchadores. 72 tackles , 2 forced fumbles, 3 sacks, 1 int, 2 pass deflections and 1 safety tallies up his season so far. Looking to be a high risk pick in the NSFL draft, Bavis is likely to fall to the later rounds as more of a depth pickup than anything else and will more than likely end up right back in the DSFL.
Blackford Oakes - Free Safety (Tijuana Luchadores) S4 PROSPECT
Oakes has not played in a single game this year having only recently been picked up but look out for him in the remaining 2 fixtures this year. There has been rumblings in both the media and around the league in general that Oakes has been putting in extra work this season to make up for him not playing the majority of this year. Extra training camps, private practices and an intensive workout program are said to highlight his day to day life.
Callum Grey - Quarterback (Tijuana Luchadores) S4 PROSPECT
Grey has not played a game in the DSFL due to his relative newness to the league but sources have confirmed that Grey's ability and potential will likely keep him in the depths of the DSFL for most if not all of his career.
JR Vance - Tight End (Portland Pythons) S4 PROSPECT
Vance is the most recent player claimed off the waiver wire and like his compatriots has not played a single game. The 6'4 255lb tight end has not impressed recent scouts in his workouts but there has been claims that this will all change once he meets the Pythons front office.
