Senior safety/wide receiver from Columbia University Serhii Strynadka has announced today their intent to enter the transfer portal and declare for the DSFL's waiver system before the start of the season. The speedy Ukrainian has stated, via his agent, that they intend to see what the market is like in the ISFL's development system before determining if American football is in his future. Strynadka has not stated if they intend to continue being a two-way player, or if they will drop one of two roles as they enter a more competitive program.
"Serhii is very excited about their future in the sport and wants to explore any and all options that can take their game to the next level. He would like to thank his teammates, coaches, and fans at Columbia. The way they embraced a student on a soccer scholarship into a sport that was completely new to them and helped find a fuel in him he didn't know he had was amazing. The future is bright for Serhii Strynadka in the sporting world" said agent Johnny Scott in a statement to the media.
The Ukrainian safety led Columbia in interceptions in both his junior and sophomore years, and was supposed to be a major part of the core that looks to challenge for the Ivy League title.
