As we enter the final gamedays for the ISFL and DSFL, let’s take a final quick look at the standings and see what playoff implications arise for either league.
ISFL
ASFC
New Orleans 12-3
San Jose 10-5
Arizona 10-5
Orange County 7-8
Honolulu 5-10
Austin 5-10
New York 4-11
Unfortunately for the playoff race the 3 playoff spots have been decided; however, the individual seeds themselves have not been completely decided yet. There’s a bit of a mess in the 5-6-7 slots but I’ll let lemonoppy’s article explain the circumstances there. New Orleans has clinched the 1 seed and will be playing at home in the Conference Championship Game. San Jose and Arizona are currently tied but San Jose has the tiebreaker due to sweeping the season series against the Outlaws. Therefore, if the two teams end up tied after Week 16, San Jose will be the 2 seed and Arizona will be the 3 seed.
In Week 16, San Jose plays at home against the Crash and Arizona goes on the road to take on the Secondline. Two very tough matchups and thus any situation could possibly happen. Speaking of which, the scenarios below.
San Jose beats Cape Town – doesn’t matter what Arizona does against New Orleans; San Jose 2, Arizona 3
Arizona loses to New Orleans – doesn’t matter what San Jose does against Cape Town; San Jose 2, Arizona 3
San Jose loses to Cape Town and Arizona beats New Orleans – Arizona 2, San Jose 3
If they both tie somehow then San Jose 2 Arizona 3. If one ties and the other doesn’t, then whomever wins will be the 2 seed and whomever loses will be the 3 seed and the opposite for the team that ties.
NSFC
Chicago 11-4
Cape Town 11-4
Baltimore 10-5
Yellowknife 8-7
Sarasota 7-8
Berlin 5-10
Colorado 0-15
Besides the watch for 0-16 Colorado potentially, the playoff spots are also set in the NSFC. However, the playoff seeds are a bit more messier for the NSFC than the ASFC. Currently Chicago and Cape Town are tied at the 1 spot with Baltimore a game back in 3rd. In Week 16, Chicago plays on the road against Sarasota, Cape Town also plays on the road against San Jose, and Baltimore plays on the road against the Fire Salamanders so on paper looks like Baltimore has the advantage while Cape Town has a tough road to try to solidify their playoff seedings but this is the sim after all so anything can still happen.
In a 2-way tie situation, Chicago tied the season series against both Cape Town and Baltimore so we have to go to Conference Record and there if Chicago and Cape Town tie Chicago would take the tiebreaker while if Chicago ties against Baltimore, they would have the same Conference Record so then it goes to Points For and in that statistic unless Chicago somehow loses while scoring 70 more than Baltimore lol Baltimore would own that tiebreaker. (Even then that’s assuming Baltimore scores basically nothing in a win) So Chicago wins against Cape Town and Baltimore wins against Chicago. On the flip side, Baltimore also split their season series against Cape Town so we need to go to Conference Record and there If Baltimore and Cape Town do tie then Baltimore would take that tiebreaker. So overall Chicago beats Cape Town, Baltimore beats Chicago, and Baltimore beats Cape Town in a 2-team tiebreaker. In a three-team tiebreaker… everyone tied against each other anyways lol so that doesn’t help things obviously. So we go back to Conference Record, every tiebreaker’s favorite stat, and we see that if a three-way tie happens then first off Cape Town falls off in 3rd, leaving just Chicago and Baltimore and just like above Baltimore would win that tiebreaker barring some stupid sim thing (but it is the sim after all so who knows). Therefore, in a 3-way tie, it would go Baltimore 1, Chicago 2, and Cape Town 3.
Scenarios – too many to count so I’m just going to make a table to show all of them (and don’t get me started on ties lol; just, um, assume the team that wins will be above the team that ties and vice versa for the team that lost to make things easier)

DSFC
North
London 11-2
Minnesota 7-6
Portland 5-8
Kansas City 5-8
Unfortunately for the playoff seedings, the two seeds are already set in stone this season entering Week 14, with London taking the top seed and Minnesota taking the 2 seed. Therefore, in the Conference Championship Game, Minnesota will be playing at London. Maybe playing on the road will give Minnesota better fortune than last season *cough* 27-0 *cough* *cough* sorry not sorry *cough*.
South
Tijuana 7-5-1
Norfolk 7-6
Bondi Beach 6-6-1
Dallas 3-10
This is where things are more interesting. Currently Tijuana has the top seed, Norfolk in 2nd, and Bondi Bech in 3rd, with Dallas way behind at this point. However, Norfolk plays Tijuana on the road while Bondi Beach plays Dallas at home, so it’s very possible these standings could be shuffled after next Monday. Norfolk is playing for their own destiny, as a win or a tie would get them a playoff berth. Heck, winning would get them the division title outright. However, a loss and a Bondi Beach win would get them out of the playoffs. However, a loss by Norfolk and a tie by Bondi Bech as well as a tie by Norfolk and a win by Bondi Beach would still lead to Norfolk making the playoffs due to them sweeping Bondi in the regular season. Also note there’s no way that Tijuana can miss out on the playoffs by tying with Bondi as they won the regular season series against the Buccaneers.
Scenarios
Tijuana wins against Norfolk and Bondi wins against Dallas – Tijuana 1, Bondi 2
Tijuana wins against Norfolk and Dallas wins against Bondi – Tijuana 1, Norfolk 2
Norfolk wins against Tijuana – doesn’t matter what Bondi does; Norfolk 1, Tijuana 2
Tijuana wins against Norfolk and Bondi and Dallas tie – Tijuana 1, Norfolk 2
Tijuana and Norfolk tie and Bondi wins against Dallas – Tijuana 1, Norfolk 2
So there you have it! Those are the playoff situations entering Week 16 of the ISFL and Week 14 of the DSFL. Hope you enjoyed it; if there’s any errors in all of this (and it’s very possible considering how messy some of the situations were this season) please feel free to let me know and good luck to all teams! (Also apologies for the sort of janky formatting; apparently BBCode hates me when it comes to making tables :| )
