Carson's Super Cool Absolutely Correct DSFL S51 Mock Draft!
Yeah, somehow you read that right. I already made an article this week (or at least on the 2.5x Media Portion, I'm not actually sure when this particular article is going to posted out to the forums), so theoretically I already got a good amount of money for this week and already got that also juicy media multiplier once again (as mentioned already), but this was an article that I was already brewing in the back of my mind that I wanted to write. I just so happened to be on the fence about it mainly, considering that I wasn't entirely sure if I was capable or not to accurately depict what was going to be going on in terms of users, teams, and what the need to give a legitimate "correct" mock draft (I am not), pushing me to be more hesitant than anything about creating it (but now we full send).
When you search by S52 on the TPE Tracker, you are greeted with a grand amount of 52 names. 52 prospects. Just by doing a glance at other listed numbers for other draft years, this seems to meet around the average as to what is expected in terms of the size of the class itself, apart from one of the more recent ones, S50, with 65 listed players on the TPE tracker. Also, I don't know what happened in S44, like if there was some sort of baby boom or not, but 97 listed TPE tracker players seems a little absurd. Maybe I am wrong though.
Obviously, though, for this specific media piece we're only going to be looking at these 52 prospects listed within the TPE tracker. Some of these players have been deemed not apart of the draft as well, so for players like Dante Escobar (who I think is the only active waiver player right now?), they will not be included within this draft mock draft. If I am wrong and there is more waiver players, congratulations. You're in my draft presentation. Consider yourself lucky, I suppose.
This mock draft will consider every single S52 draftee as a possible selection and will be draft picks all the way until the conclusion of the third round, making this mock draft 24 picks out. I had originally wanted to do this as doing every single draft pick for every single draftee, but that simply was not time feasible, so I had to shoot for the ground a little bit. A finished and easy-to-read mock draft will be included at the end of this article for the people who simply want to skip right on ahead and just look at my terrible decision making. That's perfectly fine by me, I'd rather my listed reasonings not be read as well. I'm not a General Manager, so bare with me there as well. I will be providing around a paragraph or more reasoning for each selection, essentially trying to lay out my thoughts as best as I can with the heavily limited knowledge that I have about these teams. I will also be following the reverse standings of the teams, and I will try my best to capture all owned draft picks by teams and thus account for any trades made up to this point within the league. I am probably bound to miss one though.
Sheesh, this is going to be a long article. I suppose I should just get right into it, then?

Sheesh, this is going to be a long article. I suppose I should just get right into it, then?
For readers, here is the listed draft order in relative of reverse standings:
1. Tijuana
2. London
3. Kansas City
4. Norfolk
5. Minnesota
6. Dallas
7. Portland
8. Bondi Beach
(I definitely didn't steal this from a different mock draft)
Oh, and I am aware of certain unspoken rules that seem to happen with DSFL drafts, so I will be incorporating those as well. That's the last thing that I think I have to say regarding this very long and very thorough for no reason introduction, so let's actually start.
1.01 - Jerald Chuprig @dannuic
Tijuana went 2-12 this season with what appeared to be a decent defense in terms of tackling yet they still ranked in the higher percentile in Points Allowed in the entire league. Frankly, the only thing Tijuana really needs is players. That's really it. I honestly cannot legitimately say anything more than that. Though, a look at their roster sees a LB, RB, QB, WR, DE, CB, and TE. Obviously, call-ups could be happening that we are unaware of but call-ups will not be factored at all in decision making. I'm not smart enough for that, let's be for real. The most logical position to obtain here is another defender and taking Jerald Chuprig, Safety, is a really good get. Obviously with a lot of players just joining and creating, it's hard to get a good grasp on individuals who are going to be that next step up compared to the pack, and obviously I am also not doing scouting (again, not a GM people), but I really like the way dannuic seems to have been earning as of right now. Just doing the Rookie Task already puts you into a pretty good tier, so I think Tijuana is going to be happy with this pick to bolster that defensive side of the ball.
1.02 - Zen Olsen @GUCCI_BO
Maybe I am missing something, but this London roster doesn't actually seem too bad just from the roster glance that I am going to be doing for these teams. They actually have 2 QB's, so I would again assume a call-up would be happening there, and a 2 RB and 3 WR rotation. I think by, once again, bolstering up that defensive part of the ball, especially with a CB in Zen Olsen, a position that London does not have at all on their roster, would be the perfect fit for them. GUCCI_BO has shown out as a user in my opinion in just the few days/week that they have been around. Active on the forums, active in Discord, watching the Prospect Bowl, that's exactly what you want from your first generation player, and thus begins a walk-in-the-park in my opinion for London here.
1.03 - Bamba Jamin @Flamingmedal
Kansas City has a lot less holes to fill than most teams, at least from looking at their roster page. Once again, this becomes a situation where a defensive-minded pick seems more logical, considering they have every offensive position pretty much looking good as of right now. Getting a LB to add to Rojo could make that defense look way better rather than being one of the worst in the conference/league. Flamingmedal, another individual who has put in effort in to update, hopefully is going to be a good pick up for them!
1.04 - Shiyun Lin @Butteryicarus
Norfolk pretty much has the most flexibility in what they could go into the draft and actually walk out with, and I think that might become their biggest advantage to them. Their draft board is probably really wide open because they don't have to feel limited in "Oh, we really need this position and if they're gone we pretty much don't need to do anything else", no. They could use just about everything. Lin, RB, serves well in trying to bolster up that Norfolk offense going into next season. This is a good pick up to have a young, upcoming user become essentially a possible RB1 and force the ball down the throats of the other teams in the league. Cool stuff.
1.05 - Jimmy John Rushmore @LGLAC613
If it weren't for Minnesota choking in their playoff matchup, they wouldn't even have this early of a selection in the draft. However, I think it kind of works out better for them because this allows them to make a selection that could really benefit them rather than being at the tail end of the draft (which, yeah, is only like 2 picks down but we're just going to ignore that for the most part). The biggest thing I noticed for Minnesota, who again I think is a pretty complete team all things considered for where they are drafting, is needing another impact defender that can just create good, winning players that could turn the tide in close match-ups. That's sort of why I went with a DE in this case because coming off that age, getting strip sacks or just moving the offense back in general could become really huge for that defense in hoping to make a deeper playoff push next season. Guess we'll have to see.
1.06 - Dixon Yamada @Dmac1200
Dallas. Well...just refer to what I said about Minnesota. It's practically the exact same story, just a little bit different for them since they were a little bit better and they also could use a different position than what I had Minnesota going for. That all being said, it still has to come down with the defense rather than the offense. I think that seems to be the moral of the story here in the first round in my selections. I cannot wait for that to be completely wrong, but hey I'll take it because being wrong is really fun. Getting one of the best defense prospects in the entire draft is going to go a long way for Dallas, I think. Just bolstering what already is considered to be a good roster is exactly why having the 6th pick rather than 8 can actually mean something.
1.07 - Demar Harris @Breeze837
Did someone order yet another Defensive prospect taken? No? Well, too bad. You're getting one. Demar Harris, S, in my opinion, is going to be pretty stinkin good. A stud, even. A speed and endurance demon, Harris is gonna be quick on defense and is never going to get tired. Just imagine when that tackling attribute gets updated too? Oh yeah, it's wraps for the league at that point, huh? All things considered, Portland looked like a roster that could benefit with a defensive selection. Whilst, I do believe, a RB or even WR option is feasible, it's possible to obtain that selection later in the draft if they wished, and taking the surefire good pick in Harris is perfect.
1.08 - Jack White @Ostaf
The champions have, surprisingly, a good roster all things considered. If they're going to have any chance of doing it again, they're going to need to cintinue to make that roster look even better. Jack White, who is a OL, is going to be one of those players who just makes the team better. Sure, maybe you think a OL isn't a crazy pick but that's probably the point in some way. Protecting that QB and opening up the running lanes is exactly what leads to championship rosters. Perfect for that caliber of a team.
2.01 - Mr 13 @amjohnson636
First off, what a fire name. 13 is a big number symbol. Lucky or unlucky how you look at it, Taylor's favorite number (or something like that), I really dig the name. For Tijuana? Well, they dig the person ATTACHED to the name. I'm personally expecting the numbered man to be a quick and effective tackler and is probably going to rack them up rather effectively, which will be really cool to see. For a team that just needs to stop people from running all over them, the pick should be a good one looking at their future.
2.02 - Hawk Too-Me @Aneeqs
Oh Aneeq...how I love you so much. Oh, sorry, probably not the time for that. But Aneeq's player looks like it could be a really fun and cool one! I mean, Hawk Tuah (im sorry.)? That's basically like, all you need for a defensive player! Corners are one of the most just important people to have, gotta have them to help stop those pesky receivers, so when London looks at the board here and can get a guy who is a known sim league individual, I think that works well in their favor to select him.
2.03 - Brick Pudding @Fronk
Pudding already looks like a stud and I think luckily for Kansas City, who took a LB with their first selection, grabs yet another impact defender and just makes that defense looks NASTY. I really liked how their offense seemed to look according to their roster which is why I have leaned more into defense for them, and if they can land who they have, then it could genuinely shape them into being one of the better teams in the entire league.
2.04 - Count Sevem @baz
Norfolk, like we mentioned before, has a lot more flexibility in their draft boards but I do think they still would rather go for an offensive mindset rather than defensive. They have 3 LB and a Safety, and I have no doubt they could look for waivers or a steal in the later rounds that would make it work out perfectly. Baz seems like an amazing pick-up for them as they look to grab a couple of offensive weapons. A Most Dedicated Member winner, Norfolk grabs a solidified user who they can trust and really give the keys to for their offense if they so choose so. I think they're walking away from this pick feeling pretty damn good.
2.05 - Da'Truest Rusha @Trempale
Trempale is already up to 136 TPE and that is only going to continue to go higher and higher. Minnesota, on paper at least right now, just looks so good offensively. It almost makes no sense for them to even look at grabbing someone on that side of the ball unless someone gets called up which again is possible but we're not accounting for that. Grabbing just another pure defensive stud, this time in a LB, is such a good pick up for them and they could seriously be such a scary team next year. I kind of am worried of that, but I guess we'll see!
2.06 - Tackle Merchant @ckroyal92
Back to Back LB off the board right now here in the 2nd but it's another really good one. The name is literally Tackle Merchant, what more do you even want from them? I'm expecting that once that TPE in the bank gets spent when they get put onto a team, that tackling attribute is going to be skyrocketing. Dallas basically doesn't have any LBs so it makes logical sense for them to go out and get one and they also get one that they can personally believe is the best one out of the bunch. Taking a CB in the first, they just continue to work on that defense and hope to see themselves right back on the top of the standings.
2.07 - Fairly Smart @Pib
I think I can confidently say that this class is a lot more focused on these get to possibly elite defense guys because I feel like that's all we've been talking about. I do think that with the call-ups we'll see that be changing but for now, let's just get crazy right? I mean, that's the fun of the mock draft isn't it? I have no idea what is remotely going on and I am basically just guessing out of a hat or something along those lines but that's what makes it so fun. I get to be so so wrong and make money off of it. It's honestly kind of perfect. Looking at Fairly Smart, DT, after selecting a S in the first round, Portland gets their core of Knucklez, Marx, Goncalves, Harris and Smart to anchor that defense. That's pretty dang good. That strength and speed is already looking elite for Smart, and I think they are gonna have a field day in the backfield.
2.08 - Benji Raga @SabaDonutMan
In a trade with BBB, Minnesota will be receiving their 2nd round pick this season/draft. As far as I am concerned, this is the only pick traded as of right now. Minnesota can continue to build on that nasty defense core that they are building this draft and now adding another guy, also happening to be a DT, they just might walk out of here as the winners of the draft depending who they are able to keep down on the offense side.
3.01 - Brady Sunkisser @McGriddy10
I think once we get to this point of the draft, it becomes solely on who is the best earners or best users that kind of fit what the team is looking for in terms of fit/direction. So, for Tijuana who has a lot of holes, taking Griddy who is a known user is a really safe bet pick, especially also being a CB and thus could help on the defensive load. I think for Tijuana you're going to see basically a lot of Quincy Robinson along with their 2 receivers, which is not bad at all for an offensive core. I think if they were able to get some OL in the later rounds or maybe select one here and go for another defense guy in waivers or something, that would be beneficial to them. But for now, Griddy is perfect.
3.02 - Lee Rushmore @Hordle
We're getting to the point where these offensive guys are getting way too neglected for their value. It isn't going to happen in the real draft probably since teams are going to have a lot more holes than what I have mentioned already, but London is gonna go ahead and take a RB here. They have Summers listed on the roster, who I am assuming has a good chance of a call-up but even if we were to ignore that grabbing a RB2 and building out the offense game is actually still not a terrible thought to do. Especially with their already 2 defense selections in the draft.
3.03 - Crazy Tomato II @Crazytomato
Again, we have to start looking at these offense guys. Crazytomato is a great user so it's hard to say that he could go lower than this because there is no way they should. This is very similar to the previous pick in Rushmore. Guess Who currently reigns as the RB1 on the roster but bringing in Tomato who can share some of the reps and build themselves a dynamic offense could push Kansas City to the playoffs.
3.04 - Shakir Hodges-Allen @SonOfCar
Uh oh, it's me! I had a hard time depicting my own value and placing myself in this. Luckily I have zero attachment to a team which allowed to negate any potential "I'm gonna have myself go here", because that does not matter to me. In a class with heavy recreates, myself technically being one, I think there is just so many proven earners and users around that it makes it hard for a recreate like myself, who went inactive last time, to stand alone as a deserving selection. I definitely understand that and I believe this is reflected in where I have myself selected. I obviously cannot speak outside of my body and try to look at this in a different lens, I find that pretty hard, but I do think in the case of Norfolk, who is selecting me here, they have very big offense holes. They took a RB, then WR (Baz) and then now me. They build that up fantasically and I almost would say that duo/trio is going to be very good. I think logically thye just are trying to find those pieces and seeing the activeness of myself right now, they go for it.
3.05 - Bjarni Hjalmarsson @Urq660
As much as we have enjoyed the 3 straight offense selections, we're right back to where we started. Now, I actually think Minnesota may go offense here because of how their draft has currently gone. If I had to assume they will actually get offensive pieces since players like Benny could be gone, but strictly looking at roster we just are going to continue to grab defense. 4 straight defense guys, but my goodness that is actually nasty. DT here, DT last time, LB and DE. Place that with everyone they already have on roster, and it's pretty much goodbye to the rest of the league how unfair that would be in retrospect. Luckily I don't think that will be the case but maybe they will keep everyone.
3.06 - Mo Love @Lowkey
I actually hate that I have Lowkey this low (key), and I don't think this will be happening in the real draft but here in this fictional universe of where everything is going to shit, we're just saying that it is the case. Mo Love, WR, is honestly a really capable one. Those Speed Receivers are going to cause trouble, and with Mo already upgrading up to about 65 hands just from the base build, he's getting thrown and catching the ball too. I think they have had a pretty successful Prospect Bowl showing if I remember correctly, and I think that is what would happen on Dallas at this selection. Getting to play for the highest standing team last season, I think Lowkey will thrive in that setting.
3.07 - Mako Shark @ztarwarz
I think what we've seen is that a lot of these older users and these recreates decided to go to the defense side of the ball. I think that is a big reason for this burst but also just because I keep selecting defense players. I think I may have a problem and that is also why I think I am getting zero picks right, but to each their own I suppose. ztarwarz created a speed rusher and no kidding. 70 speed already, 60 endurance too, I think the build is going to look really good. For Portland, they get the guy to just cause havoc on the end and apply pressure to the opposition. Sometimes that's all you need.
3.08 - Isaac Fuse @mystictoejam
The last pick we are doing happens to be right back to a first gen! BBB looks at the WR (they have one on the roster) with great promise because they seem to be an active earner and hopefully will also be a good presence within the organization. I don't know why but mystictoejam sounds familiar to me as a sim league guy but I think I might just be tripping. Regardless, they have been around in the Rookie Discord and that is really good to see because we find those people who are eager to learn and be apart of stuff and those are the type of people Minor GMs want on their team. Perfect last selection for my mock draft.
And yeah, there you have it. All 24 incorrect picks right at your disposal! I am obviously really good at this and when you come back to this after Thursday night, and you see all my correct picks, you will be bowing down to me as the kind of the mock draft. Obviously, not going to be the case, because of the factors that I cannot predict and thus did not try to, but I hope I can at least give some shine to some users, new and old, give some positive writing to them, even if small, and create some good content for the league. I hope yall enjoyed.
Can't wait for the last pick here to be the first pick in the real thing.
