Well, the season is over, and once again Noble has failed to break the one I cared about the most...TANY/A. He finished 0.16 above Pierno. Fortunately, however, he did break some records that one QB will be glad to unload. @Daybe Ryan Applehort no longer holds the record for lowest passing yards in a 14 game season, lowest touchdowns in a 14 game season, or worst TD:INT ratio. In fact, Applehort no longer holds any negative single season records.

Well, his sacks were pretty low? There isn't a whole lot else that can be said about the veteran's worst career year. The only real positive is that by keeping his rushing attempts low, he only fumbled twice, meaning that Pierno still has the record for career fumbles.

Honestly, I thought he played better in the second half of the season, even after Crush was gone. Obviously, his numbers took a significant drop, but he played a lot smarter, and actually turned the ball over less and was sacked less. Two of his three most efficient games were second half of the season, his third most efficient game without Crush. I'm saying this because it shows that Showbiz and Orange County eventually got on the same page, making things look better for next year, especially with the return of Tegan Atwell.

I fully expected Showbiz to be more efficient, but not only did Fitz do a better job of completing passes and finding the end zone, but he actually handled about the same amount of volume, attempting only 32 fewer passing plays. The biggest difference is that despite dropping back only 32 fewer times, he was sacked only 39 times to Showbiz's 61. Also, what little advantage Showbiz had in the air, Fitz made up on the ground, rushing for 144 yards and a TD. Next year he won't have that big OL to hide behind though, or Mack to carry him through tough games.

Last year, he was *so* good. So, at first, I was kinda surprised to see such an apparent regression. Then I saw the pass attempts. His 716 plays would be one of the most in any NFL season, which is an extra 2 games, and Applehort very rarely ran, meaning that he might have more dropbacks than any NFL QB has in one season. To pass that much, a QB needs a deep WR corps. Miller is only going to get so many yards a game, as the sim tends to "turn WRs off" after a little over 100 yards. Miller averaged over 102 a game. Aaron and North performed their roles well, too, but they also got tapped out, so he checked down to Grau more. On top of all of them, Applehort averaged 6 completions a game to receivers at or under 200 TPE. A few less attempts per game, and I think he would have been significantly better.

He has arrived! His interceptions were a bit higher than Yellowknife would have liked, but he threw more TDs than he had in his first two seasons along with 1/4th the interceptions. I would have liked to see just a bit more scrambling mixed in, but I am sure there will be plenty of that mixed in next year as he waits for the replacements to Atwell and Kennedy to get open. The future may be bleak, but there is no longer any doubt. Pennington is an NSFL QB.

Avon...you make regression look good. Anyone else remember Avon cosmetics? No? Fuck. At any rate, despite dropping off a little from last year, Blocksdale showed he was not any slower by gaining 40% of his new career rushing yards in one season. He was actually more efficient running the ball than throwing it. Given that he isn't white, that's very convenient for racial narratives. Oh shit, I hope he still likes me enough to laugh at that. As always, the key to his success is avoiding sacks, leading the league in fewest sacks taken for the third consecutive year.

It wouldn't be fair to call this a breakout season, but seeing a TANY/A like that despite so many rushing attempts was beautiful. His 58 carries moved him into 3rd all-time in rushing attempts, narrowly passing Ethan Hunt. His best stretch came in weeks 6-9, when he posted a TANY/A above 8 in four consecutive games, including against Baltimore.
