Ethan Whitworth
6 games, 120/299, 1078 yards
52.4% completion rate, 33 long, 2 TDs, 8 Int
53.7 QB Rating
The once (many moons ago) mighty Solar Bears of Palm Beach are sitting at a 1-5 record and have the league worst offense in points, but 4th in passing. Whitworth has an even build by the looks of it and the Solar Bears don’t look too good in the passing game because of him. Now I don’t know if it’s by design or not, but this team is looking to finish with one of the worst records in the DSFL and Whitworth will probably end the season with a sub-par 50 QB rating. I don’t expect his numbers to go up much by the end of the regular season except maybe his interceptions. He’s got the most of all DSFL quarterbacks.
Andreas Metaxas
6 games, 94/169, 941 yards
55.6% completion rate, 33 long, 5 TDs, 7 Int
64.2 QB Rating
He’s only slightly better than the bot quarterback and is tied for second in most interceptions so far averaging over 1 per game. This is surprising since he’s considered a top tier DSFL quarterback, but the style of play in Tijuana doesn’t suit him I reckon. The Luchadores are 5-1 though and have been relying on the run game for most of their wins. This team ranks dead last in passing offense and I think the Luchadores aren’t on the ropes because of their league best defense and DSFL send down Roronoa. Metaxas had a good game against the Marshals at home where he went 17/24 for 194 hards and 2 touchdowns. We might see a few more highlight games from him like that, but I wouldn’t count on it.
Zenyou Wozy
6 games, 103/173, 1229 yards
59.5% completion rate, 36 long, 6 TDs, 7 Int
76 QB Rating
The difference between the bottom 2 quarterbacks and the rest of the group is a Texas sized drop off. Wozy has been playing decently in all his DSFL seasons. It’s a crying shame that the Marshals aren’t better than their 2-4 record because they have a good team on paper. They can get good yards in the run game and they have the 3rd best passing attack in the league. Maybe Wozy woke up after their last game against the Solar Bears in Week 6 because he had an extremely efficient game going 21/29 for 279 yards and 2 touchdowns. He did get 2 interceptions, but we can overlook that for now. I still think the Marshals have had some bad luck because they have a good group of receivers for Wozy: Baxtor, Kindle, Rudd, Turner, Krossman are all send downs.
Buzz Swaggerty
6 games, 126/205, 1288 yards
61.5% completion rate, 35 long, 7 TDs, 6 Int
78.7 QB Rating
The better of the 2 bot quarterbacks this season, but the Seawolves are sitting at 2-4. They managed to win some good home games against the Pythons and Marshals where Buzz threw at an efficient clip in both games. It’s surprising to see the Seawolves have the best passing game, but they do very well for only being a bot team on offense. Too bad their defense is piss poor and can’t stop a bed sheet drying in the Texas summer. If they can continue with Buzz playing at a high 70s QB rating, then I think the Seawolves snag 4 more wins this season.
Luke Boechler
6 games, 117/183, 1185 yards
69.9% completion rate, 44 long, 7 TDs, 2 Int
90.5 QB Rating
I thought Boechler would come in this season as the best quarterback and he’s darn near the top. He’s got the best arm out of all DSFL quarterbacks with the longest thrown at 44 and he hardly ever turns the ball over. It’s no surprise that the Coyotes are the second best passing game in the league and they’d have a better record by now if there was a balanced run game to go along with Boechler’s excellent passing. He’s got the second most touchdowns in the league so far with only 2 interceptions. If the Coyotes can get Nova and Anoa’i up to where Kreme is at as a receiver then I think the Coyotes can win out with Boechler leading this team.
Caleb McCoy
6 games, 97/142, 1063 yards
68.3% completion rate, 32 long, 12 TDs, 1 Int
115.4 QB Rating
Now here’s a big surprise for all ya’ll! I’m the only rookie QB starting, but I have the best QB rating, most touchdowns, and least interceptions out of all DSFL quarterbacks. Now how that does happen?!? We’re tied with the Coyotes in the NFC, but I have a good feeling we’ll come out on top in the playoffs. I’ve been playing really well and it’s all thanks to the overall offensive scheme of the team. Having Trevor and Smallwood-Chess is a big help because they can both block well enough and run the game while having send down Stakowski as a blocking tight end is a huuuge plus! Kaine is my main man and I’m glad to have him as my WR1 along with big Blaze himself as the WR2. We had a slugfest at home against Tijuana in week 6, but had some big wins so far in the season. If I continue the build that PDXBaller gave me, I think I can finish as the best DSFL rookie quarterback in history! YEEEHAAWWWWWWWW
