[Ready to be graded]
Hey guys. It´s your favourite Royal, Nick Kaepercolin.
With more than half of the games played and the NSFL Draft coming soon, I wanted to take the time and answer some questions. Thank you for all the questions!
1) That´s a good question. Honestly I don´t know really know. We run the ball often and our running backs are doing a great job, but I´d wish they got me the ball more often. Even if we´re throwing the ball Susan Cash Jr. gets most of the targets. In our training sessions I often create separation and I´m still not getting the ball regularly. I think that me joining after the first two weeks in the middle of the season is a reason, why Colby Jack and I don´t have the best synergy. In my eyes, he often is too focused on Susan and therefore overlooking me, although throwing to me would be the better choice. I hope this will change in the future though.
2) Personally, I´d rank myself right on the top of the S22 wide receivers. There are some good ones in this draft class, but I don´t see anybody really being better than me. Like I said, i didn´t have the best start with missing the first two games, but I think I´d be a great addition for every team in the NSFL and all the teams should have me on top of their lists. Although I´m not having the best numbers in catches, yards and touchdowns, I´m constantly creating seperation and taking attention from the opponent´s best defender or multiple defenders, so other players can shine then. Honestly I´d be a little disappointed if I wasn´t drafted in the top 5 of wide receivers this year.
1) Tough question, I have mixed feelings about being followed so closely by a media team all the time. On the one hand, it´s great for for our fans to get to see what the team is all about and how awesome our team atmopshere really is. It´s good for the organization and I hope it helps to get some more fans to cheer for us and to get some exposure. On the other side I got the feeling that sometimes the media is a distraction, at least for some players. They don´t seem to be focused all the time on training, instead they care more about looking for the camera. So I think it´s good in the long run, but it may hurt our performance this year a little bit. Nevertheless I can only recommend to all fans and NSFL GMs to watch the series, especially episode 3, where you can find an interview with me!
2) On the field I´d say my biggest strength is my enormous speed and acceleration, with which I can create seperation on short routes, but go for long passes, too. Additionally, I´ve got above average hands, but that´s still something I need to work on.
I´d describe myself as a great leader with the mentality to give my best each and every day and I want to help other players to do the same and achieve their goals.
3) I´d draft myself as top pick, because there is no player better than me in this draft class, no matter which position. This probably won´t happen, but I should be drafted in the first few rounds and teams should see me as one of the best upcoming wide receivers. And I think most teams could need a player, who can make the difference in each game.
1) To be honest, I´m not a lifelong NSFL fan, so I didn´t follow the teams for that long. Therefore I don´t know that much about the teams and their history, so this question isn´t that simple to me. There are some teams I prefer based on location and their logo though. My favorite team in the NSFL so far are the New Orleans Second Line, mainly because I really love the city and I always dreamed about living there. Other teams I like include the Yellowknife Wraiths, the Colorado Yetis, the Baltimore Hawks and the Orange County Otters in no particular order. But as I said, I don´t really know that much about the teams and I´m happy that it´ll change soon. There are only two teams in the NSFL I don´t really like so far, but that might change in the future, too. I´d be happy to play for most of the teams next year and hopefully build a solid contender for the years to come there.
2) That´s easy to answer. The team with the first overall pick should draft me, because I´m the best player on the board. But for real, I don´t know which team should draft me. There are some teams that are more in needs of a young upcoming star wide receiver. But who wouldn´t want a future hall of famer in his franchise? It´s difficult to look in the future, but I hope that the teams recognize my full potential and I´m drafted in the first rounds. I can guarantee, they won´t regret it! Some scouts already contacted me and I had some good talks with them. They all were very nice, showed some interest in me and gave me a little bit insight in their team. So far, I´d be happy to play for all teams that already contacted me and I hope the other scouts will do their job and also contact the hottest upcoming player in this year´s class.
3) I don´t know man. People who like pineapples on pizza are freaking monsters! That´s not even debatable and I don´t want to know what such people are all capable of! There are many reasons why it doesn´t belong there. First of all, what do you want with such a wet fruit? It just ruins the whole pizza. Additionally, it´s way too sweet and does not pair well with other toppings. I have no clue who first got this stupid idea and why some people really think that´s a great topping.
4) Damn, that´s a really though one, I need to think a second about this.... First, it sounds like a simple question, but it´s really difficult if you think more about it. But I´d probably say that a hotdog is a sandwich indeed. I mean, what´s the real difference? You hold it in your hand, it´s between carbs and you eat and chew it like a sandwich. On the other hand a hotdoig isn´t really served between two slices of bread like a sandwich. The hotdog buns are slided different and if I think more about it, I´d say a hotdog might be more like a burger than a sandwich? And most menus list burgers and sandwiches as separate things. So why the hell should a hotdog be in the sandwich list? It´s really difficult and I need some more time to find a satisfying answer for me. Thank you for the sleepless nights the next few days!
1) The first half or the first 8 weeks of the season went ok regarding that we are an expansion team. We could demolish the Birddogs in our first game and caused an upset against the Grey Ducks. We had some close games, where we couldn´t quite get that W. Overall I´d say we had some good showings so far, but we need to improve our consistency and need to make some small adjustments to see some more wins. We definitely need to work on our special teams, they didn´t really show up so far. We allowed some big kick and punt returns and missed some easy field goals. That can´t happen if we want to stay alive in the playoff race. Furthermore, we need to improve our red zone offense. We are gaining some good yardage till we are there and making really good plays, but we often can´t convert these drives into touchdowns. To change this, I think we should make some changes in playcalling and get the ball more often to me. We´re working hard every day and I believe we will win some more games and hopefully we can even improve so far, that we could make the playoffs. We all know, that it won´t be an easy task, but we´re up for it and optimistic.
