[div align=\\\"center\\\"]READY TO BE GRADED[/div]
This presser will be the introductory presser for Lesean Paris Crooks of the London Royals. Mr. Crooks plays CB and this is first ever experience in sim football, so all questions are on the table. At the moment, he is preparing and training for week 1 against Kansas City and week 2 against Tijuana after a winless preseason.
Well, the expectations are obviously for the team to succeed at its highest level. However, we're observing the tasks at hand in front of us at a day by day level. We're making sure we have solid practices, making sure our team chemistry is at a peak, making sure that everyone is prepared to deliver their best at all times, no matter when your number is called. I expect myself to exceed because I know my team has my back and I have the team's back and we will uplift each other to higher places. As each week progresses, hopefully the success continues to follow and by the end of the season, the accolades will follow in respect to the progress we made and the levels we achieved. I'm not looking for individual accolades, because you can have big volume stats and be a detriment to the team; helping the team win in any way possible is my main goal. And that's how I feel we will succeed, we see each other sacrifice for each other and is brings the team together. So for now, we look to handle business against Kansas City and Tijuana and have another good week of training and move on from there.
So in the era of fantasy, some people look at shallow box score numbers and use that determine if a player had a good game or not. For some positions, the more gaudier the numbers, the better that player performed; that's not the case for every problem, especially for cornerbacks. I do not hunt individual numbers --- would I like big statlines? Of course I would, but let me make a reference. If a basketball player doesn't get a bunch of steals or blocks, most people assume that player is a bad defender. What the untrained eye doesn't see are vital elements such as defensive positioning, help defense, and the ability to make an opponent work. If Person A scores 26 points and Person B scores 19 - most will assume A had the better game. What if I said A needed 30 shots and B only needed 7 shots? Now who had the better game? That's how I view the CB role. I'm going to make DB's work for it. A DB can have 8 receptions, but it's going to be undermined by either needing 15+ throws or having only 30 or 40 yards. The interception is a bonus. Same on the other end, if a WR only has 4 catches on me - it's going to be the most miserable 4 catches he has in highlight reel. I look to limit big plays and eventually steer QB's away from throwing at me. I want my statline as empty as possible because that means QB's are scared to look my way. I prefer consistency over a feast or famine rollercoaster.
Which explains the type of players I admire. I've always favored the physical approach. I like to get up in other receivers and disrupt their flow, disrupt their game, destroy their timing, rattle their heads, make their quarterback scared to look their way. I always loved the physical corners --- the Mel Blount's, Everson Walls's, Ty Law's of the league. But it's funny, I first got into football because of Doug Williams, but it was the Skins super bowl, not against the Broncos, but against the Raiders that convinced me what I wanted to play. I grew up east but everyone knew about the Raiders. The Raiders were cool, they were rugged, they were different, they made being unconventional the norm, and we felt like that represented us unheard people. Lester Hayes and Mike Haynes were two of the baddest to do it --- they were smart, physical, and could strike fear into anyone that lined up across them. They were two black holes where opponents entered but never returned. Their physicality is something I always endeared and I hope me and my man Perkins can duplicate that tandem.
I'm excited to be playing for London. Honestly, anyone that showed their faith in me would have my unconditional commitment. I will say being overseas is a trip, I thought I was going to Ontario, ready to load up on poutine and hit up the SunFest. The weather is probably better over in the UK though. But the team is a big enough positive to wipe all that out. To be real, I had no clue who was good, who had good history, good front offices or what not. When I played in the prospect bowl, I played with Greedy Sly and loved his flare. So I can't even describe how elated I am to be paired up with him again. They say everything happens for a reason, and I feel that's why I slid to the second round, because the Royals and I are meant to be like peanut butter and jelly. Our whole defensive unit has some head turners, Sly, Van Perkins, Bob, Richards, Ball - we got some real players over here and I think the league underestimates just how much damage we can inflict.
I'm brand new to the league in general. I wish I could say I have a favorite, but I don't and probably won't. My favorite team will end up being the team willing to take a chance on me to further my career and excel for them. But the league has been fun so far, and I'm likely to get more in tune as the season plays out.
I like pineapples by themselves, I used to not eat pineapples period until recently. You'll never see any pineapples near my pizza. I'm from the east so we know good pizza doesn't need extra on it except maybe some Parmesan and mooozerella. I only like vegetables on my pizza these days --- it's a compromise I made with my trainer. Name a vegetable and I can make it work. My favorites are mushrooms and more mushrooms.
I haven't met the queen. I dont even know who the royal family are. I'm not one to get wrapped up in figureheads like that. Although whoever that Kate girl is? She's a real queen, if she sees or reads this, I hope she knows that her King is on the way. If she ever get lonely and depressed she can have this thug in your life. Come get a taste of this thug passion if you playa cardz right. Like my homey Kane and Danny Boy said - "It's too late, too late playa, bye-bye. I got your girl and I'm gone." Tell Harry, Larry, whatever his name is that I said that. You can quote that.
Thank you all that participated and provided questions. I hope my answers sufficed. This was a fun, learning experience to get my feet wet with the community. Watch out for the Royals, make sure you catch us on the YouTube channel for our regular season matchups.

Would you rather allow 4 receptions, or allow 8 receptions but you also get an interception?
Who do you model your game after?
