Hey! Thank you so much for giving me the time to ask you a few questions. I know our readers will be thrilled to get to you know a little better, since they now only know you as the dominant Quarterback on the Royals! So I have a few questions for you but I suppose we’ll start off with this—how did you react on Draft Day when you were picked by the Royals and how has your experience been with them so far!
Josh Patterson-LON-QB
I was honestly a little surprised, but also had no clue where I was going to end up. I felt like I had a lot of really good interviews during scouting. I have to say being chosen by the London Royals and asked to become their Quarterback has been an absolute dream come true. My experience from meeting the GMs to joining the locker room has been fantastic overall. I've made a lot of new friends that are really helping me build as a player and take my game to the next level. Having fellow rookie Martin Bachman in the backfield learning together has been a great experience, and I expect big things out of him to close out the season.

That's great to here! I think many would agree that when they verse the London Royals they aren't expecting to have a tune up game. This is especially the case as you, their Quarterback, are one of the highest earners! Alright next question, what is your pre game routine that you go through with your team and on your own?
Josh Patterson-LON-QB
Well I was named a team captain on offense to start the season so I try to take the role seriously. I do my part to hype up the locker room pregame. As for on my own, I like to get into a good headspace pregame, some light meditation with my special blend of sacred herbs, really zero in on what I want to accomplish on the field that day. I rejoin the locker room 30 minutes before we take the field and remind the team to put their crowns on before we get to business.
(Host)LVN-NOLA-LB
That sounds awesome! You mentioned earlier that you switched from Cornerback to Quarterback, did you have any experience taking snaps before there DSFL?
Josh Patterson-LON-QB
A little back in high-school. I come from a pretty small 3A district outside of Houston so we had a couple guys, not just me playing both ways. I guess the rating websites liked me more as a CB coming out of high school, and when offered the chance to play at UNT, where my granddad also went and played, I couldn't pass up the chance to continue that legacy.
(Host)LVN-NOLA-LB
Clearly with your success so far you can play both phenomenally. On the topic of success what do you hope to accomplish in your career?
Josh Patterson-LON-QB
This year I'm looking to lead the Royals to the playoffs and I'm hoping for an Ultimini Championship win, I've heard the whispers about end of season rewards but I'm trying to stay focused right now. Take everything one game at a time. Being a Quarterback in the ISFL is a long road so I've already accepted that I'll be sticking around the DSFL for a few more seasons. I'm hoping to grab a MVP award while I'm down here. Once I get the call up to the ISFL, I'm looking to compete and win. I don't know what that league has in store for me honestly, but I'm very excited to find out.
(Host)LVN-NOLA-LB
I agree it definitely is harder to be a Quarterback and it will take time to get up to the ISFL. In the ISFL is there a team or a couple of teams you would like to go to whether they have a couple of your buddies or a place you think you would succeed the most in?
Josh Patterson-LON-QB
Honestly I haven't been giving it too much thought. I did take a look to see who had the most senior QBs on their roster, and I think it was Austin and Arizona, so I would think my chances are high to go to either, but who knows what will happen draft day. Having already used my position switch once does kind of hamper my draft stock a little so I'm trying to keep that in mind and not let me expectations get too high. This is going to be a good first and second round, lots of talented players, and great guys coming out of the DSFL rookie class this year.
(Host)LVN-NOLA-LB
Yes, that is very true there are a couple of great earners out there in this class and we will see on draft day who makes the great decision of drafting you! In your rise to fame throughout your career is there anyone or any people you would thank for their assistance in your experience of the ISFL/DSFL?
Josh Patterson-LON-QB
Oh man, so many.... I would start off by saying every single person I've interacted with has been so welcoming and fantastic to get to know. I would definitely give a shout out to Hank Mardukas and Aleris for just being great rivals and fun in the GameDay chats. I would thank Katarn22 for convincing Alikh and Sizz to take a shot on me as their QB. Martin Bachman for being awesome and so supportive day in and day out in the London Locker Room. Twenty6 for being the mad scientist in our Locker Room, helping us get the most out of our team and builds. Oh and of course my boy and the best CB in our class, Dino Nuggets, for always making those sweet GFX for everyone! But really it's so much fun to be a part of this league with so many great people, I'm definitely missing some here, not @"baz1757", but someone I'm sure.
(Host)LVN-NOLA-LB
Hahahaha I can already see the dismay on Baz's face! I have one last question for you! What would you like to say to the GMs of the ISFL that may be listening right now?
Josh Patterson-LON-QB
In the immoral words of Ricky Bobby, "Here's the deal I'm the best there is. Plain and simple. I wake up in the morning and I piss excellence." If you're thinking about waiting to take me in the next round, I won't be on the board, so pull the trigger and let's win some Championships.
(Host)LVN-NOLA-LB
So many great words in that sentence and I certainly hope you go set some records and win some championships. Well readers this has been the VanCast hosted by your very own LVN. If you are interested in an interview hit me up on Discord it's Ajax#3214. Hope to see you next time on the VanCast!
