You might have noticed that I recently opted out of my contract with HON. You may be wondering why.
When I started LMH, my goal was to be the first player to hit 2k receiving yards, a lofty goal and nigh unattainable. But that's what I wanted and told every GM that scouted me back in S34 (S33?). Now, over a full calendar year later, I just watched Leek put up a little over 800 yards in his final maxed out season. Does he still have a shot at hitting my personal goal set at player creation? Sure, but needless to say his best days are probably behind him. I don't really care about wins (I went through 0-16), or championships (but got one in Leek's first pro season), my goal on this player has always been to get stats, accumulate individual awards, and maybe just maybe hit that 2k mark. If that was the only thing LMH ever accomplished I would have been happy with his career.
Going forward, I expect Leek to be a somewhat solid contributor to his team, but will no longer be aiming for the goal of 2k yards. I won't be spending any more money training Leek, only applying the TPE I get from AC and PT/Pred for being on sim team, and that will continue on my next player (who I intend to be a utility player I make as a stopgap until I try max earning a S50 recreate). I intend to bank all contract/job/casino earnings until my S50 player.
What does this mean for Leek?
After S42, LMH will be available for purchase to the highest bidder. Leek still has his position change available, so if a team is willing to front the cost on top of the contract, then I will gladly change to whatever position you want. I would prefer signing a 1 year contract, but will settle and max at 2 if pressed and offered even more money for doing so. By my rudimentary calculation, Leek will be just about 1k TPE starting S43, then around 700 to start S44, then probably will retire after the S44 Ultimus, giving him one last season in S45 at around 400 TPE. I am willing to sim test and scout. Standard contract would start at 5M/season, so starting bid will be 6M+Position Change Fee (If Applicable). If no one wants to bid over 6M, I'll re-sign with HON (if they want that) or just early retire Leek and move on to the utility player.
