Can ya’ll say 3 and OOOOOHHHHH?!?!?! Boy we’re gettin’ hotter than hades in Portland and any more wins we’d be condemned for bringin’ hell on earth! Now I did pretty well in the preseason so Coach Boa said I’d be takin’ most of the snaps against Norfolk in our first home game. Remember how I told ya’ll about our new play we were workin’ on (Zebo-Left-SneakySnake-Yellowback-Wide)?!? Well it worked like a charm and we ran it 3 times when I took the snap until those darned robots from Norfolk started recalculatin’ things in their robot brains and intercepted my pass near the end of the first quarter. Boy did I get my tail up about that! Well we managed to come back with Shawn Ariel leading our charge and Borro Gore not too far behind in carries too. I’m content with workin’ on gettin’ up to Jameis Christ’s level and being patient with what Coach Boa expects of me. Right now, I’ll be happy as a clam in high tide if I only get 15 or less attempts. Especially if I’m throwing interceptions right now. I did get 42 yards passin’ though so it wasn’t an awful game now that I think about it some more.
We went on the road to Norfolk to play them again in week 2 for a back to back series, but we were lookin’ for a fight and we were plannin’ to bring it to ‘em again! Coach Boa didn’t want me to use Zebo-Left-SneakySnake-Yellowback-Wide again so we held off on that play since they might be expecting it again and this game we had to change things up a tad bit so I only had 8 passing attempts. It was a good thing too because Ariel and Gore both rushed for over 100 yards each and it was another smooth sail to victory that was sweeter than tea! I gotta say though, the defense has been grade A certified sirloin these past few games and we figured out how to hold Norfolk to a field goal. We also picked up Joel Shroeder (@Shrodawg) after trading away Nate Atasuke and a draft pick and the ‘Shrodawg’ showed us why he deserved to be talked about as a top cornerback in the DSFL right now. That boy had 2 tackles, 2 pass deflections, and 2 interceptions! I’ll just say one thing before I go on and on like my pop-pop when he gets on his rant about the government and how liberals are ruining this country...I’m glad I’m only facing Shrowdawg in practice and I’ll leave it at that.
Palm Beach was week 3 and our regular season revenge game and we came out fired up to show ‘em that the Solar Bears weren’t coming out of Portland with a DUB. Now I admit I’ve been strugglin’ as of late and it’s been really messin’ with me mentally and physically. I can’t keep up with all the new plays and DSFL schedule so it’s been tough as leather for me to get my head straight. Coach Boa noticed how things have been going and recommended that I take it easy this game so I only played a few snaps. We didn’t need to be throwing much anyways since Gore had 23 attents for 119 yards and 2 touchdowns. That about sealed the deal when our own robot Garfunkel caught an interception.
So 3-0 right now and we’re sittin’ pretty! Coach Boa said he’s going to have me in most of the snaps for the next 2 games so we’ll see how it goes! They have a lot of confidence in me goin’ into the next few weeks so I’m hoping to live up to expectations! Let’s show the league we’re stayin’ in this winner’s circle for awhile!
