Hey all, answering questions
:agree:
I respect Carlito very much and I think he is the future face of the position but I don't see any way that he could be better than me given his performance. I'm confident that if when the Yeti get better he'll be leading the charge. I think that he honestly should be doing better; when you look at him you see Ricky Maddox. He's got good routes. He just seems to struggle a little getting some separation. I have faith that he'll be better soon!
To be honest, it's both! Obviously Tyler [Oles, who played QB in college] taking snaps under center this year is a major and high-profile change, but (besides from his first few disastrous years) Clifford Rove was never bad, and he always seemed competent and collected under center. I think we've shown a pretty good trend over the years and I think we're capable of winning the first Ultimus trophy for a team not named the Outlaws or Otters.
We have been working hard as well. We have the kind of environment in Philly where we all push each other and encourage our teammates to do their respective bests. If you show up to practice when it starts, you're late. I think we are one of the best teams talent-wise in the league. Probably that's more of a reason for the change than Oles under center.
I've got my eye on Glenn McPoyal, I'll tell you that. He looks a little like me in my early days despite a significantly different build. Also Carlito Crush has some obviously huge untapped and unused potential. Also people have called Poopyface Tomatonose "the next Paul DiMirio" and I agree with that assessment. He has the ability to stretch a defense.
As far as advice, I have some simple tidbits. I know it's cliché, but hard work is the key. Keep practicing your routes, quickness off the line, ball tracking, catching, hand-fighting, strength, and footwork. Every day. I catch 800 balls a day from the JUGS machine and several hundred more from Tyler. I also run routes, with and without a QB throwing to me.
And when you get out on the field, it's just you and your guy. Sure, communication with the QB is important, but you already should know what he's going to do pre-snap. You can drown out everything else on the field and focus on getting past your guy. It doesn't matter whether your guy is Angus Winchester or Lindarius Shelton. You have to just be you and don't try to do too much. In my earlier years I was relying on my speed and shiftiness, but now I have better ways to deceive the defender and use my body to get sole control of the throw.
I'm not going to lie, it's very hard to imagine it at this point. I love the Liberty, I love the coaches, I love the fans, I love the field, I love the free tacos, I love my teammates. But if there comes a time where I'm not being useful on the Liberty and I could be more useful elsewhere, I would consider going to another team.
Yikes, that's a hard question to answer! I'd have to say the Yeti are my favorite to face off against because they have a strong group of LBs and it allows me to go 1-on-1 with strong players and my former teammate AC Hackett (who now knows all of my moves and is one of the best at covering me). Also, they usually allow us to test out new plays, including setting me at outside WR and punt returner.
Least favorite? The Otters. They're a tough team and even if we win, they leave us tired and annoyed. Because even if we win, they've exploited all of our little mistakes, like a pass with poor timing turned into an interception, or a messed-up pitch becoming a fumble.
He's a good player.

Is this the result of years of hard work? Or has something changed this year that's driven the team to the top?
