Currently, we're sitting at 10 prospects, so the league is definitely hoping for more to come around. With so few prospects, I think we'll see a lot of teams either go for the best player available, or work to try and fill a niche need on their team. Need a WR? There's one. Need a kicker? One again.
It's going to be a tough draft, simply because there's so many positions to fill, but so few able bodies to fill those spots. If you need a Safety, but they go off the board right before you pick, you can't fill that hole any longer. This has to be tough on GMs.
We're likely to see Thad Pennington go off the board first, as he's had the most training to date other than rocketrickey, but he's gotta go to the Marshals. He will likely be there only pick up, and while that's not a bad thing, it's gotta be tough to have their only real pick forced onto them. I get it, but it's gotta be a pill to swallow here.
It looks like the order will go:
Palm Beach
Tijuana
Norfolk
San Antonio
Kansas City
Portland
Palm Beach
Tijuana
Norfolk
San Antonio
Kansas City
San Antonio
Now my widely biased and uninformed predictions:
1 - Palm Beach - Thad Pennington - LB
2 - Tijuana - Ramadan Steve - DT
3 - Norfolk - Alexander Overholt - QB
4 - San Antonio - Rickey Ramero - LB
5 - Kansas City - William H. Harrison - S
6 - Portland - Viggo Squanch - WR
7 - Palm Beach - Chad Pennington - LB
8 - Tijuana - Childish Gambino - DE
9 - Norfolk - Brad Pennington - QB
10 - San Antonio - Beat Meoff - K
11 - Kansas City - N/A
12 - San Antonio - N/A
Again, this is just me going off the last index, not anything else. IDK who's getting called up, or anything like that.
Palm Beach takes the best player available with their first overall pick.
Tijuana picks up a sought after position player in Ramadan Steve, a DT with a good track record in other leagues
Norfolk is set right now on a Quarterback, but how long will he be staying here for? Might be a good time to pick up the back-up they're gonna need.
San Antonio is forced to take Rickey Ramero, not that it's a bad thing.
Safetys are a big deal, and Kansas City wants to bolster their defense.
Portland needs to get a bit more offensive. Finishing last in receiving stats, they look to pick up a wide receiver.
7 and on is a complete crap shoot. I went with defense first because that's what wins championships. Then QB, and finally kicker. NFL stats show that having a great kicking game doesn't win you any more games than normal so... he can go last.
I'm probably way wrong. I'd love to see a mock draft from someone who knows more than me. That'd be awesome.
