I love drafts. Whether is NFL draft or an NHL draft or fantasy drafts I love drafts. I also live by mock drafts. So heres another mock draft for the upcoming S18 draft.
New Orleans Second Line
Team Needs: DT, TE, Safety
1st Overall Pick: Bjorn Ironside DT
Bjørn is the very clear favourite to go first overall this year. Richest guy in the league and he hasn't even been drafted yet. He's a big TPE earner and with being a DT he fills a void for NOLA. With Ironside and Ennis, NOLA has the youngest and quite possibly one of the best Interior defensive duos in the league.
Philadelphia Liberty
Team Needs: LB, QB, DL
2nd Overall Pick: Maurice Virtanen LB
Philly has a bunch of holes to fill and they fill the need of LB here. Virtanen will come in immediatley and help contribute to the Defence.
Orange County Otters:
Team Needs: DL, CB,
3rd Overall Pick: Zach Hall DE
OCO dont really have a bunch of holes on their team. Here they pick up a good young DE. Hall made the switch from TE to DE and Hope's to contribute to the new Champions defence.
Colorado Yeti
Team Needs:RB, DL, CB
4th Overall Pick: Louisiana Purchase CB
Purchase is the top Secondary player in this draft and the Yeti get a guy who is a day 1 starter. The Yeti have other voids but with such a deep draft class it's hard to pass up on a talent like Purchase to reach and fill a void.
San Jose Sabercats
Team Needs: TE, RB, WR
5th Overall Pick: Tyrome Biggums WR
San Jose just moved their TE Dan Wright to QB, Christ has another year or two left before Wright fully takes over. By the time Wright takes the reigns Biggums will have turned into one of the top recievers in the league.
New Orleans Second Line
Team Needs:TE, Safety
6th Overall Pick: Steco Ocewilder
NOLA doesnt have a single TE on their roster and with taking Ocewilder it fills the void. Ocewilder is a big body that will help create mismatches but also help out on the ground game.
Yellowknife Wraiths
Team Needs: TE, LB,
7th Overall Pick: Net Gaines LB
Net Gaines is the 2nd ranked LB in the draft but the Wraiths cant pass him up here at 7th overall.
Arizona Outlaws
Team Needs: RB, DL, Safety
8th Overall Pick: Marcella Toriki RB
Outlaws get their future offensive star at 8th Overall. In a league dominated by Committee's Toriki adds some versatility to the Outlaw backfield.
Orange County Otters
Team NeedsL, CB, Safety
9th Overall Pick: Pete Parker Safety
Otters just take the best available with this pick. It just so happens to be stud Saftey and Kick returner Pete Parker. Parker showed flashes of a top safety as well as a solid return guy in the DSFL. If he can translate it well into the NSFL he could become the steal of the draft at 9th overall.
Austin Copperheads
Team Needs:CB, DL
10th Overall Pick: Korrin Abernathy CB
Abernathy reminds me of McMorris from last season (mostly because I am McMorris). He isnt the top earner in the draft class or the most talked about but I believe he can slip into the 1st round and contribute right away. 103 tackles for a Corner is insane. If he is able to keep up with his pass coverage he could be a very well rounded corner.
