[div align=\\\"center\\\"]READY TO BE GRADED[/div]
This presser is for anyone that wants any last second information before the draft(like the 3 teams that haven't scouted Mr. Crooks yet) or would like Mr. Crooks to reflect on the past season in any capacity.
Mr. Crooks would also like to take this time to issue a statement, "If you voted how you voted refer to this statement and say your Hail Mary, prepare to Picture Me Rollin' When We Ride on Our Enemies Until The End of Time like we're the Last Ones Left, and God Bless the Dead when I become Troublesome and go Against All Odds."
1. I'm going to be honest, I knew I was going to have a good season. I'm hyper competitive and there was no way I was going to slump once I figured out the league and in-and-outs of the day-to-day operations. I will say I was disappointed to not only miss out on the Pro Bowl, but to not be nominated for any awards. I felt I did enough, especially given the sacrifices I was willing to make for the team to win, to at least have people outside my locker room recognize me. But that's why I'm in London, because they believed in me and in return, I did all I could to help us win the Ultimini. Had we won, which also burns because our defense balled out the entire playoffs, I would not have cared, but I wanted something to take the pain away and the awards snubs just cut the wound deeper. Unfortunately, this season, my first ever in sim leagues, has taught me it's not about how active you are, but who you're active with.
2. There are a few factors I have to consider ---- team fit, team depth chart, WR attitude. In addition, there are other factors I cannot control such as free agency, trades, and position switches. Given the fact that S22 was pretty deep and S24 so far has been shallow on true CB prospects, I can at least assume a few teams that will not make me a high priority such as Orange County, Baltimore, New Orleans, and San Jose. Then again, if San Jose has a player that position switched then that opens a door for me. I initially would not have expected Arizona to look at me but with recent news about their defense, that is another team that might seek me. As for the other teams I did not mention, I scaled their depth charts, their send downs, their tpe trackers and concluded that if they want to fill a hole on their defense with a stud, they should draft me. That goes for three teams mentioned a few lines up: if you want a surefire stud, you should draft me.
Because there is a huge drop off in the shallow CB pool. I think early 2nd round will be my spot. However, I would not be shocked for teams to make a safe bet and try to take me late first round once Ray-Ray goes off the board. The higher Ray-Ray goes, the higher I go. I know I won't go higher then 10 because there are some obvious studs that earned their place above and some teams needs that talent and have different holes on their roster, but I'm going to have just as much of an impact and like I said, the S24 pool is very shallow on CB prospects, worse than the total S23 pool.
3. Depends, obviously I want to win, whether it's in the NSFL or DSFL is to be determined. If I do come back to the DSFL. I want to become a locker room leader for London and help continue to anchor the defense. Me coming back would allow the WR to focus on our weaker areas along the lines and help balance out our roster. If I'm in London again, another Ultimini appearance is a must and I plan to have a stake in DBoty, DPoty, and Returner of the Year. If I'm in the NSFL, I'm going to be mentioned in RoTY and Newcomer of the Year and my team will not miss the playoffs.
1. I just want to win. So if a team cant match my competitiveness, and they dont squeeze everything they can out the roster, then they should look past me. A team that is open-minded and willing to listen to their roster is also a big plus. With London, I was willing to adjust my attributes or take on the other team's biggest threat even at the risk of looking bad in the sim and tanking my draft stock. In return, they listened to some of my opinions, mainly right before we hit the playoffs ---- but those guys were on top of it and really didn't need my insight -- but they listened and helped me learn the ways of the WR. Eventually I want to join a WR in some capacity, so I just want to learn as much as I can.
2. In the NSFL, I plan to show everyone who doubted me, who looked past me purposely, who never gave me a fair shot to realize the big mistake they committed. Just like I made seven DSFL teams regret passing over me, I plan to inflict the same punishment in the NSFL. My name will be mentioned in pro bowl voting and in award shows. Guaranteed!
3. You can ask anyone in London, I've been there since the day they drafted me. It took me a few weeks to get adjusted to everything, but once I got rolling, I carried myself like a vet. I think some people misconstrue my distant behavior as having a shady personality but I'm usually studying and writing. When I write, I dont like to be distracted. I've written so much that I already purchased my T6 equipment for the upcoming season. Another factor is that most people dont share the same time zone window as me, so I miss a lot of the high peak activity. Rather than randomly interject, I prefer to lurk and read so I can learn people's behaviors and personalities. I don't have any friends or colleagues in this, I came in solo. Another thing I am not a big fan of is having other teams in the locker room --- to me, it destroys the intimacy of getting to know the team and have open discussions about topics because people are holding their tongues because they know others are watching or an unknown outside opinion interjects in the middle of your conversation which can help but also derail the conversation. Real quick, even when I wrtie, I champion my teammates more than me. I wrote just as much, or even more, about Sly, Eric, and Datsum throughout the season as I did about myself.
4. I'm going to keep lowkey, probably some silk versace with the chest hanging out and couple of accessories. I'm thinking all white and maybe some gators. I might grab a Dobbe hat to match the shoes too. Dont want to be too lavish with it, you know?
5. There are a lot of defensive prospects in this draft. I could honestly see defense being selected for the first 15 picks. There are a lot of quality players at several positions, especially safety. Smoothie, D'Alcott, and Bob^2 are going to be huge steals in the draft. Also, whoever can snag Thruster for the o-line will be lucky ---- I honestly believe Thruster should be the first offensive player off the board.
1. If my NSFL team needs me, I probably wont fight for it, but I want to come back to London and finish what we started. I want to establish myself as a locker room leader, I want to anchor the defense, I want to help establish a winning culture and set a high standard for the club. Winning a title with London would probably be my biggest achievement in my career. Moreover, if I return, it allows London to fill out other holes on their roster. We were already short on depth coming into the season and we likely will stay short, given how many players we have expected to be drafted in the first 2 rounds combined with potential callups we might lose.
2. Let me rank my goals in priority of what means most to me:
1. Winning an ultimini with London/Establishing myself as a leader on the team
2. Becoming an instant impact player in the NSFL
3. Seeing a positive jump in my player's performance en route to helping my team make the playoffs
4. Winning a title with my NSFL team
5. Becoming an elite return man
6. Raking up as many individual awards as possible
7. To make #8 mean more than #1
8. Kick Ass and Take Names Later
3. For my career, I want to win. But I want to be remembered for my contributions to helping my team win. I hope my teams never miss the playoffs and I will do my best to keep that statement true. Eventually down the road, if I last long enough, I want to learn the ways of a WR and contribute in a significant capacity. I've always been a mind intrigued by strategy and understanding the mechanics versus relishing in the performance of the final product.
