I know that there is a lot of great draft prospects who I am sharing the S27 class with and this is why I have not got any expectations of being a high pick. It is enough for me to have the chance to spend time with these players that I have and to be considered as a solid prospect among them is a great honor, but I am very familiar with the draft process and know exactly how things work. Th need of the team always is the main thing that needs to be considered and so I would not blame any team if they decided that the position or the type of player that I’m trying to create doesn’t fit with what it is that they want to do. There are also some reasons why I think that my player should be drafted that balance things out a bit, and it is my goal for this article to try and explain what it is that I can bring to a team and try to convince some GMs that have not yet made their mind up that I can be the kind of player that can really help their team and make them stronger immediately! I have a lot to learn but I think that there is also a lot that I can bring to a team and I hope that you will think the same thing after reading the list that I have made!
1. Sim league experience!
I have been a member of sim leagues for a long time, joining my first one on the very first day of 2016! This means that I am approaching the five year anniversary of the first time that I joined a league and during that time I have built up some knowledge about the way that a league works and I know what it is that I am able to bring to a team! I have had players who have had some success and I know that the most important thing that you can do to build a player who is successful is listen to the advice of those who know more than you do which is what I plan to do. I am very new to the ISFL and the simulation engine that the league uses but I will listen to the people who know more than I do and take their advice in order to make James Wilkinson the best player that he can be!
2. Excitement!
Because I am a new member of the league everything that happens feels very new and excited. I know that as a recreate being in a league will start to feel a little bit more stale because you have done everything before but I am lucky that is not the case as a first time player. I am having a lot of fun being in the league and learning everything that I can about it so far and I am very excited to get to join a team and help make them better. Any team that decides that they want to draft me will be getting a player who is excited to learn and improve and make himself better! I hope that I have been able to put that point across to the scouts that I have spoken to so far, but if not then I hope that you believe me here because I can’t wait to really start my career and help out those who are wiling to put their trust in me for the season that is ahead!
3. TPE!
I have not been in the league for a long time but I think that even in a short period I have been able to show that I am able to acquire all of the TPE that is available. I have completed every task that has been available to me since I decided to join the league and am very much in the running for the TPE leader of the class. I was previously in second place because the predictions that I had made had not been great but I think after the equipment purchase that I made I should now have the most TPE of any player in the class, at least for the time being! I plan on earning all of the TPE that becomes available to me going into the future and I will be making sure that I work hard to stay ahead of the curve with my earning and do not fall behind at all. I see earning TPE as the main way that I can help my team out and repay the trust that has been given to me so the team that drafts me can expect to be getting a player who does everything he can to improve his player as much as possible!
4. Money!
I have not just focused my time in the league on earning TPE, but I have also spent a lot of time working on improving the amount of money that my player has available to him by producing a lot of media articles and earning some extra cash! Writing articles for money is something that I enjoy spending my time doing and now that I have got into the routine of writing things in this league it is something that I want to keep going to make sure I have a nice amount of money that I can fall back on if I need to for some reason! I am thinking of some long term media series that I will be able to work on when the next season starts too so I hope that will help me earn even more money! From what I have been able to see so far the ISFL needs a lot of money to be successful so I plan on doing everything I need to in order to make sure that I have the correct amount of money!
5. Position!
Out of the players that have signed up for the draft class so far, there are not that many who have chosen to play the same position as me. It may be the case that because there are not that many players who are of my position that teams will value it more and consider drafting James earlier than they might have done in a different class. It is nice that of all of the players who are of the same position in the class so far look like they’re going to be great players. It will be a lot of fun to be able to have some competition with the other players in the class and I hope that we can all learn from each other and look to help each other improve! In any case, there are teams that I have spoken to who have told me that they will need to draft a tight end at some point so I hope that I am one of the players in this class at that position they would consider!
I hope that these five reasons have helped make the case why I might be worth a team using a pick on in the upcoming draft! There are so many great prospects available that I don’t think teams will be able to go wrong with any decision that they make and I am looking forward to seeing the draft presentation when it goes live next week!
