Welcome to dude_man’s S27 DSFL 1st Round Draft Projections, where you shouldn’t take it too seriously, but serious enough to know that if you don’t draft my boy Cade Williams, you are going to regret it! Because I am new to the league, most of you will most likely eye roll through these, but we shall see who is truly right. If anyone has any questions or has any problems, feel free to message me. More for the former and not the latter.
Cade Williams – OL (dude_man)
Alright, first off, we are just going to go with the most obvious pick here. The Coyotes are in need of everything, and what better way to start that, with the best offensive lineman/best player available in the draft. So far in the second day of the Prospect Bowl, he has accumulated over 20 pancakes with 0 sacks so far. Most have heard he is likely trying to stay as an offensive lineman but may be convinced to change positions if it is done for the right reasons. Being a max earner will tend to do that.
Beefcake Johnson – DT (ilmari07)
Looking at the Luchadores roster, they have a few key holes they need to address. But I firmly believe that lineman will be going fast and often for this year’s DSFL draft. So, I have Beefcake (amazing name) going to the Luchadores here. Johnson has 21 tackles with 4 of them being TFL so far in the Prospect Bowl. He has also earned quite a bit of TPE for a prospect this offseason, so he should be in high demand for this year’s draft.
Kevin Goldman/Makoa Mahiʻai – OL (King Jellyfish)
This draft might be basically giving love to the lineman for the S27 DSFL draft, but they need some love and attention every once in a while, and I feel like Kevin Goldman/Makoa Mahiʻai (weird time to do a name change) is a good choice here. The offensive lineman from Illinois/Oregon would fill a good and most needed need for the Grey Ducks. In the Prospect Bowl, he has 11 pancakes in 6 games, while that is underwhelming, he is still doing a good job of earning that offseason TPE needed to make a name for himself.
Andrew Warthol – DE (Skorch)
Looking at the Dallas Birddogs, I did not see many needs for them, but you can never go with another, you guessed it, defensive lineman to help develop a strength for that position group. And Andrew Warthol would be the perfect prospect to fill it. Looking like a max earner for the off-season, he has accumulated over 30 tackles with 3 sacks and a safety(!), so he is definitely producing at a rather elite level so far, and the Birddogs have noticed so far.
Manhattan Project – DE (Modern_Duke)
This is not Modern_Duke’s first player, and so I feel he goes high up in the draft. The Norfolk Seawolves could use some D-Line depth, and Manhattan is the perfect player to fill that role. In the Prospect Bowl, he has 35 tackles and 3 sacks, so it’s been a rather great showing for him and I think he’ll be a solid player throughout the seasons to come because of the experience.
Mongo – DE (MachineEarnedRuns)
The London Royals are going to look to bounce back to their championship ways, and they are going to want to develop some offensive lineman, and they’re going to pick Mongo with the 6th pick in the S27 DSFL draft. But dude_man, Mongo is a DE, he cannot play offensive lineman, this is a wasted pick. With my reply to that, the Royals will convince Mongo to be an offensive lineman, and they will fill a great need by doing so.
Prof. Godfrey Gravity - DT (z0rem)
This was a tough one, but I decided to go with DT for the Pythons. While they are fairly set, why not go with some defensive line help to boost that defensive pressure on opponents? Godfrey has done well in the Prospect Bowl as he has 24 tackles in his 6 games with 4 forced fumbles. He will be a force to be reckoned with but needs to consistently make tackles as he is the only one so far in this list that has missed tackles in the Bowl games he has played.
Bayley Cowabunga - WR (JKortesi81)
With all the love I have shown for the offensive and defensive lineman, it is time to give some respect to the *other* positions, and what better way for it to be a WR. So far in the Prospect Bowl, he has 19 receptions with over 250 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns, so he is having a great showing so far. And with him being an active user and a high earner of TPE, this looks like a decent pick for the Buccaneers and will wrap up the first round of the DSFL draft.
