Isfl Team comparisons
Arizona Outlaws - > Tatooine Tuskan Raiders. The obvious comparison here is the outlaw/raider similarity. But also I dont know if youve been to Arizona during the summer...even tatooines two suns couldnt get that hot! This is one of the easiest choices in this one. The colors could be made up similar, the names are similar, the locations are similar, just an obvious choice.
Austin Copperheads -> Nal Hutta Outlaws. Chosen as a bit of irony to the star on the Austin logo. But Nal Hutta is a haven for outlaws in the outer rim, and Austin was at one point a big part of the Wild west so there is a bit of outlaw simiarity. Nal Hutta is also a bog planet, its swamps are undoubtedly filled snakes of all kinds. The Copperheads colors are also partially reason for this choice, reminds of a bog a little bit with the brown and blue green. Thats not a bad thing, i like the color combo, but it just makes them the best fit to play on Nal Hutta.
Baltimore Hawks -> Naboo Pilots. Chosen particularly because of the yellow colors of Baltimore matching up with the Yellow of Naboos recognizeable star fighters. Both aerial logos and having to do with flight. This is just an obvious choice, able to keep the color scheme and a good fit in general. I think this could be a really cool logo, with the yellow starfighter streaking across the helmet or something.
Berlin Fire Salamanders -> Dune Sea Krayt Dragons. Trying to keep the animal scheme somewhat similar, only in this case, instead of a tiny salamander, its a big ferocious monster dragon worm thing. Tatooine must really be trying to bring in some population and tourism by adding a second team. Maybe the galactic government is trying to get people to the outer rim. Who knows. Either way i think this is a cool fit, and could lead to some awesome branding.
Chicago Butchers -> Dathomir Nightbrothers. Chosen specifically for the color scheme. Darth Mauls red and black tattoos being the primary source of inspiration. Also the Nightbrothers are a brutal and warlike race, surviving on a very unforgiving world. The Butchers, well...butcher things so it fits. Dont think about it too much but the color scheme matches perfectly and another one with some really cool imagery possibilities. How they will keep Rancors out of the stadium is beyond me.
Colorado Yeti -> Trandoshia Hunters. In trying to keep the imagery close, the Yeti almost became the wookies, but I couldnt being myself to do it. The Yeti therefore get the Trandoshia Hunters. Still Trandoshians are a ferocious species that were known as efficient bounty hunters. They also regularly hosted hunts on Kaashyyk as killing a wookie warrior was a right of passage. Keeping the Large ferocious species imagery intact, they lose the color scheme a bit, instead now getting more green and grey.
Honolulu Hahalua -> Mon Calamari Admirals. This one made sense to me. Mon Calamari is the home of Admiral Ackbar. A predominantly aquatic planet, where all of the life has had to adapt to life outside of water. The Hahalua means something idk what, but im guessing it means a ray of some kind judging by the logo. So this aquatic ray and being In Hawaii surrounded by hundreds of miles of water = Mon Calimari Admirals, a plabet entirely covered in water. They can probably keep the color scheme the same here, but the imagery for this new logo might be tricky. Still could be cool. How they will manage to get fans into an underwater stadium will be interedting to say the least.
New Orleans Second Line -> Mandalore Warriors. This choice was really just because the Second Line logo reminds me a patch, that I could see being on the armor of a mandalorian. Also the Nola colors would look cool accented onto silver beskar armor. I know this ones a bit of a reach but they cant all be perfect. Yea i know the band on the logo seems like a far cry from the Mandalorian warrior culture and yea it probably is. But I like the color options, and the logo could really cool.
New York Silverbacks -> Kaashyyk Wookies. One of the more obvious choices here. The reason NY beat the yeti for the Wookie imagery is because they already have the colors. Id rather change the colors of one team rather than two. The comparison here is too clear cut. A big strong ferocious silverback compared to a wookie is clear as day. I really want a league now that is based on star wars themed teams. Somebody make it happen please.
Orange County Otters -> Mustafar Sith Lords. This was a combination of a few things here for this choice. The orange colors are a little similar to the red a sith commonly uses. The big thing here is the empire similarity. The otters have held an almost iron grip on the asfc for as long back as i looked lol. Seems like they dominated for longer than anyone and did so in dramatic fashion (alderaan ring a bell?) Keeping the rest of the conference down for a long time. Until the Rebels finally overcame them after years of struggling. The rebel team will make sense i promise.
Philadelphia Liberty -> Coruscant Senators. Another obvious choice. Philadelphia is a big city. Coruscant is a planet wide city and was Capital of the Galactic republic and the Senate for a thousands of years. The Liberty are similar to this in a big obvious way in that the name is Liberty. If i have to explain more i'll be a little disappointed. The Senator choice for name tied into the history of the Senate and the republic and keeps the liberty namesake in mind at least a little. Im choosing this name based on before the Empire obviously and moreso based on the height of the republics power. Its a fit dont question it.
San Jose Sabercats -> Yavin Rebels. Always the underdog, yet somehow against all odds seem to prevail. Just seem to be able to beat OCO in the playoffs no matter the end of year record. Also underdog in two ultimus but by the grace of the force (sim gods) they overcame. The colors matchup with the rebel woodland camo, the underdog story matches, everything fits here its a lock up.
Sarasota Sailfish -> Tython Jedi. This is based entirely by the color. Blue and green colors. Jedi dominantly use green and blue lightsabers. Not to mention the similarity, SWORDfish, and a lightsaber is a kind of maybe sword. The colors here match up and on top of that Jedi love animals so its a perfect fit.
Yellowknife Wraiths -> Hoth Wampas. For one thing Hoth is a frozen wasteland so it fits with the cold snowy imagery that seems to be associated with the wraiths. The black and Icy blue of yellowknife will translate well into the lay of the land on Hoth. Plus, being in Canada (i think) they will fit right in to the weather and wont even be able to tell the difference. The overall change here fits really well i think, with the colors and temperature all fitting pretty well.
