So full disclosure before I go any further I haven't been able to find a record of the (S28?) draft on the forums. Looking around this section of the forums the latest draft posted is S27 and it happened in January. If you also have the misfortune of reading my first PT, then you'll understand that I am a little lost and unable to locate all of the information needed, but I'm more broke than lost soooo here's hoping I can get credit for writing about a draft that I can't find any evidence of happening.
As far as my methodology goes I'm just going to look at each team's roster page and write about all of the S29 players I see listed... yep that simple. Hopefully most of em were drafted, but I have no idea.
The Bondi Beach Buccaneers have 8 S29 rookies listed on their roster page, but there is one that stands clear above the rest pacing his teammates by 41 TPE with 177 is promising young tight end Chevvy Bronko. Bronko's stats... mean nothing to me looking at them, but I can confirm that he clearly has more points than the rest of the S29 class (and only 1 behind Brandon Prince from S28). Was he drafted? Probably. What round was it in? Definitely one of them.
Next the Dallas Birddogs have a relatively smaller rookie class with only 6 players. The Birddogs' TPE leader plays the same position as Chevvy, but clocks in at a much lower 156 TPE and definitely also has some stats. While Joey Marston isn't touching Bronko's TPE numbers he actually manages to outpace teammate Dallas Dole of the Birddogs' S28 class.
Over in Norfolk the Seawolves have a remarkably similar crop of rookies to the Buccaneers. The Seawolves have 8 S29 players currently on their roster and they most likely drafted some of them. To add to the intrigue Jay Cue Jr. ties Chevvy Bronko with 177 TPE. With both players on offense it will be fun to see what kind of season each of them is able to put together.
Rounding out the DSFL: South we cross the border over to the Tijuana Luchadores with 7 S29 rooks and while none of them have reached he heights of Cue and Bronko they boast two players above 165 TPE. Marcus Jones is the first defensive player mentioned in the article. The young LB has already amassed 168 TPE and several stats. Rounding out the DSFL: South Sir Peter Jackson has 171 TPE and also plays defense! If these two can keep up their impressive earning pace, then before too long the Luchadores will boast a truly fearsome defense.
Heading on up North let's start with the Kansas City Coyotes who have an absolutely incredible rookie crop. Sure they only have 7 S29 players, but 3 of them are already over 165 TPE. We've abandoned defense entirely with QB Gimmy Jaroppolo Jr (174), WR Quinton Crash (169), and RB Rejoignez LOrdre Sombre (166). These three stars on offense may end up being the only antidote to Tijuana's promising defensive future.
Most every group of rookies so far has had at least one shining star, but the London Royals don't have a single S29 player on their roster above 150 TPE. So I guess they're royally screwed.
Either Kazimir Oles JR or Conner Craig Jr. must have gotten lost on their way to London and found their way over to the Minnesota Grey Ducks. The Grey Ducks have 8 rookies and the two mentioned are both above 160 TPE, but the most exciting thing about the pieces the Grey Ducks might have drafted is that they play on opposite sides of the ball. That balance and ability to bend, but not break may just be what the rest of the league needs to overcome the Luchadores and Coyotes in the near future.
Finally the team I know the most about! A proud franchise that snatched me off waivers before I even realized my player was approved. The Portland Pythons don't have a single rookie over 130 TPE. The only thing I can say for sure about their 8 rookies is that they only drafted at most 7 of them. Things don't look great in Portland's future, but here's hoping their post-draft moves pan out.
And that's it! My best effort at highlighting the top rookies each team definitely might have drafted (once again, I could not find a draft post anywhere to use for this piece).
