Hmm, 2 seasons of doing fantasy rankings and 2 seasons of finishing last in my fantasy group after winning my group the season prior while not doing rankings. Maybe I should retire from rankings to get TPE. Regardless, I feel that it is the responsible thing to do to review my rankings from before the season to see what I got right, what I got wrong, and why. So let's do it.
Running Backs
My Rankings:
Tier 1: John Huntsman, Cobra Kai, Zach DiNozzo, Goat Tank, Madison Hayes, Lonnie Jackson
Tier 2: Jay Cue Jr, Jim the Vampire, Zoe Watts, Busch Goose, Dante King, Deadly Memes
Tier 3: Drip Dad, Brandon Prince, Mason Malone, Mike Rotchburns, Tatsu Nakamura, Jamar Lackson
Leaderboard:
Tier 1: Goat Tank 342, Zach DiNozzo 335, Jay Cue Jr 309, John Huntsman 285
Tier 2: Madison Hayes 266, Zoe Watts 250, Dante King 250, Jamar Lackson 240, Cobra Kai, 228, Jim the Vampire 223
Tier 3: Lonnie Jackson 206, Mason Malone 196, Bradley Welch 192, Busch Goose 177, Brandon Prince 171, Drip Dad 168
Hits:
Zach DiNozzo: I had him at 3 and he ended up at 2. Not a bold prediction by me in any sense of the word, but DiNozzo produced this season in a new way for him. He was very efficient on the 2nd most carries in the league where in the past he was good in fantasy just because of the volume.
Madison Hayes: I put Hayes at 5 and they finished at 5, not bad. What I did miss on Hayes is how the fantasy points would come. I predicted that with Lordresombre's position change, Hayes would no longer be in a committee. That was just wrong because Chicago called up Zohri and put them in a 50/50 rushing split. Hayes made their money in the passing game though by putting up over 1000 yards through the air. I'll take it.
Jim the Vampire: I put Jim at 8 and he finished at 10. Similar to Hayes, I missed on the process but still got the results. I predicted a Jim/Watts committee assuming Jim was put at WR in the previous season simply due to the lack of depth at WR for Austin. I assumed more RB play for Jim since Austin added a couple WRs to the roster. That didn't happen and Jim stayed mostly at WR, but his fantasy production still matched what I expected him to get in the committee.
Misses:
Jay Cue Jr.: I had Cue at 7, but he ended up as RB 3. Similar to a couple players from the hits section, I missed on this committee as well. I figured Cue and Memes would be in a RBBC due to their proximity in TPE. Instead Cue got over 70% of the rushing attempts and put up very good numbers.
Jamar Lackson: I put him at 18 and he finished at 8. I will say that I made a note about Lackson that he had high upside depending on usage and that turned out to be true. Jamar got plenty of volume through the air and capitalized by scoring 15 total touchdowns.
Lonnie Jackson: My RB 6 finished at 11. Again with the committees, I figured what was holding Jackson back was being in a committee and I thought that would go away this year. I wasn't entirely wrong, Philly just ran the ball less and Jackson ended up with the same number of rushing attempts. Unfortunately he did not take the jump in fantasy that I anticipated.
Wide Receivers:
My Rankings:
Tier 1: Bayley Cowabunga, Eleven Kendrick-Watts, Raphael Delacour
Tier 2: Tugg Speedman, Jake Fencik, Troy Abed, Zach Crossley, Luke Quick, Saleem Spence
Tier 3: Sam the Onion Man, Cole Maxwell, Mike Hunt, Darren Pama, Luca Salamanca, Jaycee Higgins, Quinton Crash, Cliff Burton, Mark Walker
Leaderboard:
Tier 1: Raphael Delacour 231, Taro Raimon 222, Jake Fencik 222, Mark Walker 214, Bayley Cowabunga 212
Tier 2: Bernd Brot 207, Radko Raskolnikov 203, Cole Maxwell 200, Vincent Sharpei Jr 200, Saleem Spence 194, Ken Oath 192, Tugg Speedman 191
Tier 3: Jaycee Higgins 186, Joseph Radetzky 185, Mike Hunt 184, Darren Pama 179, Cliff Burton 178, Eleven Kendrick-Watts 175, Luca Salamanca 166, Luke Quick 164, Zach Crossley 162
Hits:
Raphael Delacour: I had Delacour as my WR 3 and he finished at 1. The definite WR1 in a very high volume passing attack, the only regret is not putting him higher.
Jake Fencik: My WR 5 ended up at WR 3. The only knock I had on Fencik was that he was a little bit lower TPE than some of the other WR1s around the league but it's a good offense and a good QB so I still believed. Ultimately, Philly was very high volume passing with the 3rd most pass attempts and Fencik ended up with the 2nd most catches in the league.
Cole Maxwell: I put Cole at 11 and he finished at 8. Similar to Delacour, Maxwell would be the beneficiary of a very high volume passing attack and even as the WR2 on his own team he would still put up numbers and that's just how it played out.
Misses:
Taro Raimon: Ended up at WR 2 and I didn't even rank him. The Arizona passing game was a complete shock to me. I didn't expect high production for this team with a rookie QB, but they proved me wrong and scored TDs by the bucket load.
Mark Walker: My WR 18 finished at WR 4. Similar to Arizona, I wasn't expecting a ton out of the Yellowknife passing game, but they also proved me wrong. YKW threw a ton and racked up plenty of yards with Walker leading the way for their receivers.
Bernd Brot: The WR 6 on the season wasn't ranked by me. Same story as Walker really.
Quarterbacks:
My Rankings:
Tier 1: Mattathias Caliban
Tier 2: Dexter Zaylren, Gimmy Jaroppolo, Jackie Daytona, Ryan Negs
Tier 3: Panda McKyle, Joliet Christ Jr
Leaderboard:
Tier 1: Mattathias Caliban 323
Tier 2: Jackie Daytona 305, Wendell Sailor 290, Kazimir Oles Jr 289, Dustin Parmelee 282
Tier 3: Malcolm Savage 263, Joliet Christ Jr 253, Panda McKyle 248, Tron Carter 246
Hits:
Mattathias Caliban: My QB 1 finished at QB 1. Colorado was really the most predictable team in the ISFL. They throw a ton and produce a ton through the air. Similar to DiNozzo from earlier, Caliban was actually more efficient this season than the previous season while also maintaining an absurdly high level of volume.
Joliet Christ Jr: Ranked at QB 7, he ended up at 7. I expected a pretty good offense with plenty of passing volume with the only knock being relatively low TPE options. The offense wasn't great, but Christ ended up with a bunch of TDs which saved his fantasy production.
Misses:
Wendell Sailor: This unranked QB ended up at QB 3. I've already mentioned how Arizona's season turned out a couple times but Sailor was a revelation as a rookie QB who was on an insane pace through the first quarter of the season and didn't dip too much below that for the rest of the year.
Kazimir Oles Jr: This unranked QB ended up at QB 4. I wasn't expecting much from the Chicago passing attack, but Oles was kind of like a Brett Favre esque gunslinger. He racked up a bunch of yards and TDs as well as picks. Overall pretty good for fantasy though.
Tight Ends:
My Rankings:
Tier 1: Borgo San Lorenzo
Tier 2: Mario Messi, Buffalo Hunter, Sal Ami
Tier 3: Adam Spencer, Gronku Muerto, Deshawn Penne
Leaderboard:
Tier 1: Sal Ami 184
Tier 2: Nobody
Tier 3: Mario Messi 105, Buffalo Hunter 104
Tier 4: Lenard Graf 85, Gronku Muerto 83, Nick L Back 80, Borgo San Lorenzo 79
Hits:
Mario Messi: My TE 2 finished at TE 2. My only knock on Messi was the question mark around the QB play with a rookie coming in. Overall the rookie QBs was very good this year and that didn't hold Messi back from being a pretty good fantasy tight end.
Buffalo Hunter: Nailed this one too, Hunter was my TE 3 and ended up at TE 3. Similar to Messi, I thought the only thing that could hold Hunter back was his QB play, but YKW had a very productive passing attack.
Misses:
Sal Ami: I had him at 4 and he ended up at 1. Not the biggest miss in terms of overall rankings, but Sal Ami ended up 80 points better than the TE 2. Also I want to take a sentence to say that TEs need a buff in fantasy scoring, despite having an absolutely insane season, there were still 14 WRs that scored more fantasy points than him. BUFF TIGHT ENDS DAMNIT
Borgo San Lorenzo: My TE 1 was disappointing and finished at TE 7. Borgo seemed like he was in the ideal position, a top TPE receiving option in a good offense attached to a good QB. Well that's not how it played out as Borgo ended up the third fiddle on the team and only found the end zone twice.
Kickers:

Tier 2: Lux Opal 133, Jean-Jacques Leroy 131, Cade York 130, Freddy Bly 130, Izuku Campbell 129
Hits:
Jean-Jacques Leroy: My K 2 ended up at 4. Leroy was very accurate and got a bunch of extra point attempts.
Cade York: My K 5 was the K 5. I expected more FG attempts, but York had the 2nd most extra point attempts and the 4th most field goal attempts.
Misses:
Levy Tate: The overall K 1 wasn't ranked by me. Crazy high volume for the Chicago kicker, I missed on the Chicago offense as a whole.
Taipan Pete: The overall K 2 wasn't ranked by me. The NOLA kicker had the most field goal attempts in the league and capitalized on them for fantasy production.

Sarasota Sailfish: My 5th ranked defense was the 4th best defense.

Arizona Outlaws: My 2nd ranked defenses ended up at #9.

So that's that. Thank you for reading, I'm still up in the air on if I'm going to do S34 fantasy rankings just because I might be cursed.
